  • In this video, I'll walk you through the steps I took to build my outdoor bearded dragon enclosure. I built this a few years ago and don't have footage of the assembly, but I'll talk you through what I did to build this and the things I've learned in the process and I'll give you some footage of my girl using the space.
    This is not a permanent enclosure. She spends every night in her indoor enclosure, which you can find in my previous videos. I built this as a way to give her more space and time outside under the natural sun. She has responded really well to this enclosure and I hope to show other keepers how it's possible to give your dragons some outdoor sunshine for a reasonable price.

    My Dragon is going to be 1yr in 2 months, the first time she crawled to my back I paniced she would of ran away but then I noticed she just hung on for the walk. I tricked her with piece of moringa leaf and she crawled back to my arms to get it. They are cool reptiles. I live in Florida and will build an outdoor enclosure for sure, thanks for the video

    Pefect, people forget theese are actually wild animals and not their "babies", good job! And its aesthetically pleasing too! P.S i would just add alot more peaces of wood since they love climbing and thats where they spend most of their time.

      Well, ya know, they do become our “ babies”!! My critters, they don’t “ move out, go to college, get married, etc.!!” We learn from one another, odd how ones tell me I’m a good trained human! Actually, they’ve taught me, I just love them all! We learn by them , they learn by us! Just make sure no ones harmed & taken care of to the best of our abilities!!💖

      it's called enrichment to be able to let any pet roam outside as they enjoy it.
      not sure why you included the random dig at people who just really love their pets, wasn't needed as people who love their animals do things like this for them if they can.

    I have an outdoor enclosure for my dragon. I definitely agree with how much more active my dragon is outside from the natural UVB. Good content and nice job on enclosure!!

    My sister has one, but poor thing, she doesn't take care of it. I saw the thing lying still, I thought it was dead. I'm going to do this to rescue it. Yours looks so much more happy and healthy.

    Our dragon is named Lizzie!! I've noticed the same thing but now I have a deck that I want to build her an enclosure for the exact thing you said about being outside and getting to be a dragon. Lizzie's eyes get so fun to watch when she's outside! Got her for my son 7 years ago. Proud I've kept her alive and healthy 😂 and want her to have a play pen too! Liz is so beautiful and I'm so excited about the hibiscus!

    So cpl questions...im building one now and i would like to leave the bottom open (im in fla also and have a temp outside setup for playtime) . I would move it around ...bc i dont spray my yard and she loves the dandelions and bees, etc. Is there any reason you chose to put in the bottom? Also does the pressure treated wood affect her...as far as licking everything? Nothing lasts here in the fla sun so im debating how extensive to be...lol
    Thx so much.

    • @lashvivs
      @lashvivs  5 місяців тому +1

      I only closed it to eliminate any chance of her getting out. If I could redo it, I would add the bottom and a barrier around the bottom edge so I could fill it with substrate. I had no issues with the wood.

    Yep... Rizzel will have one of these shortly guys and girls, it might be a week or 2 but i need to put a slightly translucent netting type roof, man doesnt like any shadows ever over him, unless i litterally have a hand on him or something, i love my beardie, but man, when he hits the ground outside, he goes straight wild animal, i have a lot of milipeeds running around, cannot get rid if them, would anyone out there have any advice for getting rid of them?, thinking a 4in bore down trench type planks on the outside that i can put cinamon in or something to repel the bad bugs you know, i can safely assume that berdie is living her best life, thank you for being a great beardie parent or whatever you wana call it, does me good seeing very happy, healthy beardies.

    if you bring a bearded dragon in the garden, is it so unlikely it just runs off into the woods? i am impressed how calm the are and how calm you are, i am only curious if thats normal, since other raptiles' only urge in life seems to be escaping from wherever they are😬

    • @lashvivs
      @lashvivs  2 роки тому +2

      i wouldn’t let her run around without some sort of barrier because she’s faster than me and a great climber. but inside the enclosure is secure for her!

      @manueloverhoff3493 2 роки тому +1

      @@lashvivs yeah, the enclosure is great! i was only surprised that u let her chill on your shoulder so comfortably, probably you also have a fence, but i think in our garden if the dragon simply jumped off and ran, no one would be able to stop it😬

    Is there any reason why you made is 4’ high? Or is that just the way it worked out?
    Also did you put chicken wire across the top? Or did you make it to where you can open from the top too?

    • @lashvivs
      @lashvivs  11 місяців тому +1

      4’ just made it easier with the lumber i purchased but if i could redo it, i’d make it where i could walk in without ducking
      and wire is across the top to protect from birds
