I was going to go here but wasn't sure based on such little information, although I'm glad they have a wide range of facilities in the biology department so this video actually change my perspective in more ways than one :)

Reptile research is much needed, there’s a lot of misinformation out there about certain lizards, in particular bearded dragons and it’s frustrating.

How do you make sure each dragon and lizard gets fed equally?
@@TTNL2442 when I was there they would get multiple large food dishes they could access on feed day and insects would be scatter fed. Natural weeds and other material would also grow which the dragons would feed on!

The amazing thing is that these bearded dragons are not fighting with each other. My two can't stand the sight of each other and want to fight all the time. Therefore, they have separate enclosures. Here 60 live in relative harmony. How can this be?
Simple more space and more resources. There isn't as much need to fight just look at all that space they have o.o

Is it like model-rival training, but without the rivalry? I use a lot of that on my Kindergarten class 🤣
@@andielouise6348 Not really, the lizards we're training will be trained to open a sliding door of a puzzle feeder through shaping training and trial-and-error learning. Once they've successfully learned how to open the door, they'll be put into the outdoor enclosures and the same puzzle feeder will be placed into the enclosures as well. I'll be tracking how the rest of the untrained lizards learn to open the door through some very fancy data collection and statistical analyses. Social learning by imitation in bearded dragons has already been demonstrated in a paper published in 2014, so this study is focusing more on the organic spread of information through a population & what factors are involved in that.

I don’t understand why such a nice ass facility makes the inside of the enclosures look so cheap and wonky in my opinion the pallet idea is cool but looks like shit I would do the enclosures with branches logs and rocks to make it look more natural
won't stop a cat from getting in there at night
What happens if it gets cold outside? Do they have like indoor areas?
They have hide boxes. We can bring them inside if needed but beardies can take cold
