The Emmy for art direction was well deserved. Central City felt real. It had different ethnic neighborhoods and commercial areas, the murals, and the various architectural styles. While other fictional cities just look one note, CC was true world building.
The Flash was 1 of my 5 favorite superheros as a teen& i was estactic over this show.when it got cancelled i was punching things i was so angry.when John Wesley was recast as the new Flashes dad( Grant Gustin),that made me so happy.now they need to make a new Flash film without Ezra Miller.
as a thirty something year old man who loved this show as a kid seeing john wesley shipp return to the franchise brought tears to my eyes. to me his participation gave the cw show history. his portrayal of henry allen gave the shows first season a heart. seeing him reprise his role from this show in later seasons was epic.
I completely agree. That with the return of Brandon Routh as his Superman and Kingdom Come, it was nostalgia overload.
Thanks for doing this video. I grew up watching this show. I always LOVE this Flash's suit over the updated 2014 version's suit. 💨⚡👍🏾.
Shipp also revived his Barry Allen in the Crisis event on CW wherein Barry died similar to how he did in the comic but in a visual style similar to how Pollux, Barry's clone, died in the show.
The art deco design and Shirley Walker score made it feel as close as we're going to get to a live action Batman Animated Series. It's a really under rated show. Nice cast of characters and Barry and Tina had great chemistry. I wish it has lasted longer. Captain Cold and Trickster were great in it too!
It is a good video to watch and relax
The suit looks good actually
Loved this show
They brought This exact character and suit back in the final seasons of the CW’s flash.
Got this pilot. Loved it but thought it was a movie when I was a kid.
The Best Flash 👍👍
Going against the Cosby show on Thursday was a stupid move that's why the 1990s flash was cancelled after one season. Besides that it was a great show it paved the way for the flash 2014 2023.
Hare’s another Fun Fact John Wesley Shipp he Returned as his version of The Flash/Barry Allen in the Arrowverse Crossover ’Elseworlds’. He even Suggested that on his Earth his John Diggle is the John Steward Green Lantern which also serves as a bit of a for shadowing for the Arrowvere’s John Diggle being the Possible future John Stewart Green Lantern which never happened. Anyways back to John Wesley Shipp his Version Of Barry Allen The Flash actually got a Really Satisfying Ending to his character in the Arrowverse’s Mega Supposed it End All Be All Crossover which is Thor version of the ‘Crisis On Infinite Earths’ Crossover. Before returning as Earth-3’S Jay Garrick.
My friends i Would love to see the Story of FORTUNE HUNTER TV SERIES FROM 1994.🤗🤗🤗🤗THX
Why does the Flash hate sunlight in this version?? Every episode is at night when he runs around.
I don't care - I still liked THIS series a heck of a lot better than the later series which confused repeatedly esoteric comic references for actual stories. It's nice that the new series is so willing to embrace its comic origins, but to such a degree that I felt it turned off non-comics fans because the references were so very insular.
The 1990 series was also ... slightly ... more imaginative in the long run - not much, but they were in there trying. We got Mark Hamill playing the Trickster as very much a prototype for his iconic interpretation of The Joker, and the sadly late Jason Bernard as a potentially interesting former superhero, the Nightshade - he only made 2 appearances. And the wonderful Amanda Pays playing Barry's partner Tina McGee (who in the comics was an ally of Barry's successor Wally West).
At least the new series recognized the legacy by giving continuing roles to both John Wesley Shipp and Amanda Pays, even if technically it was yet another too-insular reference easily missed if you never watched the earlier series.
All due respect to Grant Gustin, John Wesley Shipp will always be GOAT 🐐 Flash⚡️
100%
Needsupdate, this version of Flash did return in the CW Flash and played pivotal role while giving closure to followers of this series.
Yes the video does say that John Wesley Ship returned in the CW version as Barry's dad and as Jay Garrick/The Flash
@DoubleReelTV yes,but he returned specifically as this Barry in Crisis and died, giving a sort of Finale to this og version.
@@DoubleReelTV enjoyed the video, subed as well, just thought it be nice to include that bit of info specifically, since it ends up being the real final time we see this Flash, Tina and others from that world. Will be checking out other vids soon.
Thank you, Im glad you liked the video and I appreciate the feedback.
John Wesley Shipp is still the Flash .
The Flash was doomed in the beginning it aired on Friday nights against Family Matters back in 1990 and it was on CBS
