Bury St Edmunds is an ABBEY TOWN & The Abbey held the Shrine of Englands First Patron Saint
Martyred Anglian King Edmund Born Circ 841/2 Reigned 855-869 killed by Vikings with Arrows & Beheaded in 869 AD Cannonised 924/39,he remained Englands Patron Saint untill 1350 when he was replaced by St George who never set foot in Britain? by King Edward III rd.
