When I listen to Diana Taurasi and her comments in their totality, I don't think she said anything that was egregious. There's a bar that is set at each level that you go to and there is a learning curve and she is absolutely right that Caitlin Clark is still learning to play at that next level. Her statistics are very good and some of the best we've ever seen as a rookie but are definitely less than what she did in college. I love Caitlin Clark and she's the entire reason I'm interested in the WNBA this year but I don't think this is anything different than you see in every other sport when new players come in.
