  • An observation video of bdelloid rotifer found in a puddle in my garden. I show basic movement, feeding, and a full death due to methylene blue poising.

thanks for the nice observation video .can i know this parasite can be causes what kind of disease ?& how many ppm of methylene blue can be kill it ?

upon re-watching the video - I do not believe it was the methylene blue that "killed" it.
I believe it was the cover glass on the slide that crushed it as the water started to dry up.
I don't think this little guy causes any diseases. Just a little single celled organism cleaning up the world

Have you tried the same test but in the dark or using a blue illumination so you can see but doesn't affects the dye? Methylene blue is a photosensitizing dye so i guess it died due the microscope illumination. Im curious to test this hypothesis, ill try to get some rotifers and test it out, ill tell the results here if i do it.

Hi there - Sorry I missed your comment - I really should use youtube more.
On repeat watches - I don't think it is the Methylene blue killing the rotier. Infact - its the water evaporating from under the cover slide. And therefore the cover slide actually crushes the rotifer. That's my best guess anyway.

Can i use Methylene Blue For Fish, on staining bacteria under Microscope

  • @luster5497

Didn't realize bacteria was living beings untill seeing that. Clearly it is was fighting to live. It's kind of Funny, they are to us , as we are to the Earth. Nothing but parasite trying to survive. I feel depress and small now.
Thank you, for the visual torture.

This is actually what I took from the Video as well - Even at the smallest, insignificant level - life still struggles to survive.

you mean the blue hue? drop of methylene blue, used as a stain in biology,
after a bit of time and rewatching, I think it's the water drying up and cover slip glass falling that gets him and northern chemical

Bebo PR I'm not even quite sure of rotifers can feel pain. These little things are microscopic and I imagine millions of them regulary die as they live in ponds, puddles, ect that can dry out at times, or something goes from the water onto land wich would kill them slowly also, ect. So I don't think they feel pain the way we or bigger animals do.

f there are beings larger than us, with significantly more complex systems of experiencing pain, they'd probably observe us in the same way. if they applied a poison blue stain to you, simply to understand you, would you think it cruel?
