We love spelling you see too! I am a naturally horrible speller, and I still shudder about traditional spelling! 😅 We have some experience with spelling rules curriculum, but I couldn't make the rules stay in my mind, so I couldn't fault my kids for not remembering them either. This works much better for us!
I think that it’s so important to get to that point as a homeschooling parent… not caring how long something takes… as long as the kids are improving and growing… that’s all that matters! ❤️
Hello! I just started my search for good Spelling curriculums and this one does look good! Do you know anything about All About Spelling? That is the other one I'm looking at. I just got the All About Reading for my 9 yr old son who has dyslexia and was going to also get the All About Spelling for my 12 yr old daughter, but now I don't know what to do!!
So, because I didn’t start homeschooling until my kids were in elementary school, I never tried All About Reading or Spelling. A few of my kids probably would have benefited from those at that time but jumping into homeschooling with 4 kids, I was scared of the time commitment on those. I do know that they are both really good programs. I would go with your gut… do you have time to one on one teach? I would go with All About Spelling. If you don’t think you have time to do All About Spelling, Spelling You See coils be a good fit if… your child is ok with copy work. Is great for kids who struggle with memorization.
have you used f or g? I think my 7th almost 8th grader just needs to slow down and have some thoughts behind forming words so this would be perfect but not sure where to place him, it seemed like maybe g was quite a bit different in the focus and I can't find much on f.
Looks like this is a great spelling curriculum. Davene, I do the same with my children when it comes to dictation, I will dictate the sentence again for them to check their work if it needs any punctuation. 😅
Have you ever used Spelling You See with your children? What did you think?

To great to hear! I love that there are different ways for people to learn how to spell (and teach their kids how to spell) 😅
Word lists don’t work wiv my kids and they are trying to learn spelling rules but idk if it’s helpful!!! I don’t care how long a curriculum takes!!!

I always love your reviews and your respect for your children. Thank you!
Thank you! 😊

At this point, this is the highest I have gone. I do know that they have placement guides on their website.
We love Spelling You See. We have also tried so many other programs, and either they don't help or my kids dislike them.
Thanks for sharing!

I feel like for some kids, they pick that up so easily… for others… not so much!
