Somehow the internet knew that Amazon is delivering my Nesco sealer today and UA-cam directed me to your video. I had a sealer like you described, where you have to hold down the sides. Hoping the new one is better. Thanks for the demonstration.
Thank you for this review. I've been researching vacuum sealers to use for various food items on our homestead, and think I've decided on this model. I was looking for reviews when I stumbled onto this video. Thanks again for the demonstration.
The rubber sealing strip is not in place on my new Vacuum and I am not sure which direction it goes, Does the cutout part show or not or is it the flat part of the strip that is showing?
@@wineycartwright9257 You don't waste bags. Seal close to the edge with a double seal then pull out to the length you want and cut. Fill it and seal the other end.
do you think it will last a very long time I have a vacuum sealer for 3 years and its not working all the times and I looked up clean it after each use but I need a new one that will last
To be honest, I don't think we always wait a minut between, but it does take some time to get the next bag in place to start the process so it is probably close.
I've been looking for this brand of vacuum sealer in stores, but haven't found any yet. Only online. Can you tell me where these are made? I have a Nesco food dehydrator that's made in the USA. Trying to avoid buying anything made in China since they have intentionally infected the world.
According to answers on the Amazon link, it is made in China. It appears many of the Nesco products are made in China even though the company is based in the USA. I hope this helps.
I suppose that would work for very limited vacuum sealing but if you're doing it a lot, it would drive me crazy. I use the Weston pro 2300, so I'm a bit spoiled
It works awesome. If we had the counter space and we doing large batches I could definitely see getting a more expensive, industrial type of seal, but this is great for our uses. Thanks for your comments.
@@TheCrazyDRanchandRabbitry I get it, I just don't have the patience (mine vacuum and seal in about 5sec). But I use mine several times a day, and process several pounds of meat each time. (also works great for leftovers)
I picked moist seal and gentle to marinate with but the dang juice still pulled up and wouldnt seal. Nobody showing the tricks to marinating. Otherwise this has been my fave sealer by far.
We have the same problem. When we want to marinate, we have just been putting it in the non-sealed bag in the refrigerator over night. To deal with juicy meats, we will put it in the non-sealed bag folded down and clipped closed into the freezer overnight. Then we vacuum seal it the next day. This may not be the right way, but it works for us.

Like one of your other commenters I also have a soups vide device.
Do you know how to turn this machine off?
Is the away to turn this machine off without unplugging it

You are very welcome. We absolutely love it. I do wish it was faster, but we don't do enough sealing to justify one of the faster industrial models.
Got that unit. I'm trying to look for a hose that would be compatible with the food saver food cannisters. even if I have to do minor modifications
Let us know what you find out.
Seal the bag first close to the end to start, then pull it out to the length you want it and then cut it off. You will waste less bags that way.
That is exactly what I was thinking!
Thanks for the info. We will definitely start doing that.
We are still learning, but it is a great idea
Thank you for taking time to post this. Got mine this father's day (2022) and I'm looking forward to using this for sous vide cooking.
You're very welcome! That sounds like a great way to use it. Please let us know how it goes.
I have to laugh at the folks who toss the instructions aside! And then complain it don’t work!
I did have to end up reading a bit, but many times just trying things out is the best learning method for me. Thanks for watching.

Thank you for this explanation. Thats was very helpful. I just bought mine and was not to use it.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you! I have this is my Amazon cart, contemplating... Still like it?
Absolutely! We are still using it a lot.
Thank you, I just unboxed mine and this was very helpful!!
You're welcome!
Yeah I just unboxed my new My Nesco. Thank you! New subscriber!
Thank you

Did u finally realize u can seal the bag on the end that u pull out b4 cutting the bag...
What does that help? Started using today and any tips would be appreciated.

@@cathytarr5481 Thank you so much.
Thank you for the idea, we will have to give that a try.
Got this unit after using a FoodSaver for about 15 years.
We absolutely love it
You should have the camera behind you facing the machine.
Thanks for the ideas
When America's test kitchens tested vac sealers this was the winner.
How has this sealer held up?
I'd like to know too!
So far we have had no problems.
We are still using it and having great success.
I double seal closer to the edge. Just to make sure there no leaks
Great idea!
" don't do that!" Bangs it again lol
Thanks for watching.
Usually grainy side down on most vacuum sealers
Thanks for the info. Thank you for watching
Never forget to date it. LOL forgot to label and seal some frozen stuff. So for awhile was a guess what’s for dinner🤭
HaHa! I can definitely see how that would happen. On the up side, food seems to last longer and stay safe longer when vacuum sealed.
Who is John Galt? Love your t-shirt.
I just wish more people understood the meaning of that question! Thanks for watching.

yesssssssssssssss

We have had no trouble with it so far. My biggest issue is the cleaning. I wish it would come apart, but we are still enjoying it.
Great demo , thank you from Quebec !
Thanks for watching!
Very nice unit!! Have fun!
Thanks! Will do! We are really enjoying it!
Thanks for an informative and entertaining vlog😅

Wait for a minute before sealing another, that's a NO GO for my use. Good video btw.

is it still working?
It works perfectly every time we need it.

@@TheCrazyDRanchandRabbitry Thanks for the reply. But doesn't it say on the box or the machine itself? That's the first place I would've looked.

Lovey Nesco!🤗
We love it too!
Like to see how it works on a mason jar
I have actually been researching that very attachment. There will probably be a video in the near future. Thanks for your comment!

And when I saw you toss the instructions I stopped watching!
Mine didn't come with instructions
Most of the time the manufacturers instructions confuse more than help. I do go back to them if I can figure something out for myself.
Most of the time I have more luck figuring it out on my own than figuring out the manufacturers instructions. Thanks for watching.
Actually when you pulled the instructions out, I immediately said “you don’t need those”…you tossed them, I exclaimed, “you da man!!….
