  • The Newsham Blyth train station, part of the ambitious Northumberland Line project, will include two platforms, pedestrian lifts, and improved road junctions, as well as parking for buses, cars, electric vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, and taxis.
Positioned south of the A1061 South Newsham Road, the station will also feature enhanced lighting and landscaping.
Construction is progressing, with an expected opening this summer.
The Northumberland Line project, which involves upgrading 18 miles of track and new signal installations, aims to provide a half-hourly service between Newcastle and Ashington, reducing the journey time to around 25 minutes between Blyth and Newcastle.
This development is projected to bring economic benefits of up to £470 million to the region.
