Make it a great day!
Storm videos are like always my favorite, but seeing this bridge I'm really amazed, crossing this bridge during a storm you are all great..
God I love this bridge. Nice view of the storm.
MɨҡɛʏքօօɦɮɛaʀJaċҡsօռ thanks
I drive this bridge 5 days a week, have been for 12 years or more. I have crossed it maybe 4,000 to 5,000 times. Have seen storms like this several times. I don't mind the bridge, the traffic can be a real pain quite often. Nice video!
Nice area.is the bridge a bit Rusty?
In places it is, but they are constantly working on it and maintaining it. They are working now on the West Bound Bridge at nights, so they are keeping it in good condition.
Be careful with the stom
Extremely heavy rainfall with thunderstorm... Incredible👍👍.. Bridge is so beautiful❤
I love these type of videos, thanks for sharing :- )

Karl Knight thanks I definitely will. Make sure you subscribe to my channel to get my latest videos...
I'm as amazed by the span of this bridge as I am by the storm. Wow!
Thank you for the video❤🎉. I love the rain as long as I don’t go out and drive. I rather watch you drive in the rain. God bless you and take care.
I used to live in Virginia and I can say that I miss the thunder storms big time here in Washington state we don't get them as much thank you for sharing the video
Your welcome Heather
I like to be home safe & sound when thunderstorms hit..Love the sound of thunder & the crack of lightning & rain..A car is a lil too up close & personal for me..lol..we don't get really intense rain or storms much here in Australia so to watch one is magical..thanks for sharing this.
Jenny Sutherland yeah me too but it’s still scary then when the lightning gets to close for comfort. I drove 190miles every other weekend to visit my girlfriend. (Long distance relationship) and this was just one of those storms that happen. I’m just glad I made it trough it safely...
@@michaelpruiksma wow you are waaaay braver than me..I honestly would be cowering under a log or rock & knowing My luck "that rock or log would get struck by lightning". Lol
Enjoyed watching pleez keep em coming..Cheers & stay safe both you & your girlfriend hun.😘
That was an interesting video.
Phoenix AZ doesn't get storms very often, but when we do it often is exactly like this. Then its back to 115 degrees for a whole month before we get another one
Nice video in rain love it
Thanks
Wow what tranchell downpour I'm glad you made it safe through the storm
Christopher Bainbridge me too! 👍
Amazing video... but very scary bridge.
i remember my dad and me drive to the camping, at the california, thunderstorm just kill our car
we back home and my camping going down
My mom & family are from MD. It's been awhile since I've been down there. Was planning 2 go this summer, then covid hit. We're planning a nice celebration, if or when we make it thru this.🌩🌧😀
I live in Maryland and I cross this bridge all the time. It really isn't that bad once you actually get up there. I guess some people get some anxiety and a little bit of claustrophobia because it is a little bit claustrophobic with only 2 lanes open at once and it is also very high up, but I actually find as a great opportunity to relax.
water water everywhere and not a drop to drink.
That looks scary!
Absolutely charming! I love how the lights of the oncoming traffic were often distorted by the rain on your windshield❤️
Isabella Wolgoth glad you like it. Thanks for watching
@@michaelpruiksma it's absolutely superb the video is
Everybody knows this is the scariest bridge in America
It’s not really that bad. What’s so scary about it?
Try the rainbow Bridge in Port Arthur TX going into Bridge city. Now that's a scary Bridge
Due to the height of it.
Put some rain-x on those windows. I live in AZ and during monsoon season I put a few coats on. Even in hard rain I rarely even have to use the wipers. Thanks for sharing the video!
I use the rain x windshield wash.
Savage Golden Freddy Tierra because I wanted to!
Going off subject here, but i am shocked about the condition of the roadway over the bridge and the lack of street lighting. Here in the UK our major highway bridges are well maintained and well lit at night.
A good guess would be that there are no lights due to people complaining about the light pollution in nearby towns. Their house would be lit up 24-7.
A lot of the street lights have been upgraded since this video to LED's, the old lights had been poorly maintained by the state for several years before this video. There has also been issues with heroin addicts stealing the wire that powers these lights and scraping the copper for drug money sadly.
Great job I love it and be careful with the stom
About 4:25 it looks like a funnel cloud starting to form
Yeah I'm surprised it didn't form that was a nasty storm
That bridge can fall apart during the storm and the wind can blow up to 50 to 60 miles per hour with powerful sheets of rain wind driven
I would say that a tornado
Joseph krause just lettin’ ya know, thats actually rain
@@reneeplayz9532 Every rain video some idiot swears they see a "funnel cloud ". Pareidolia at its finest.
🇺🇸❇⚓🔩⚓❇🇺🇸.....An engineering marvel! Evening from Charm City excellent vid sir/senor & the magic of Jeep Wranglers.....
I looove rain storms!!! 💖
This rusty bridge desperately needs some maintenance, like paint.
I like this. I am really really afraid of storms.
Flawless footage on this Maryland road!
"One does not simply drive on the Chesapeake Bay bridge into Mordor..."
What do they do then?
@@michaelpruiksma - Send in the eagles!
Christopher Mann Urean ummm. Okay... how do you do that?
i went on this bridge for the first time in my life during my nnightmare trip to rehoboth beach DE
What a storm you need radar to get through ! Great video !Thank you.
Gil Tracy thanks for watching
ما شاء الله ربي خير وبركه
❤my kind of video. Enjoyed it
Wow black and huge great video
Why do people always have to hold the camera while driving when I could just easily prop the camera in the front seats?
June 2017 was actually ranked the 7th driest June on record for Maryland
Hi bud in 2019
NinaWalterYesTrotroUTTP THDC No AKA Austin Stitzel 👈 now that’s a name... I don’t know but this storm produced a lot of rain.
Great video and quite relaxing oddly! Yes it looks like a tony tornado tail around 4:20! Are you driving a Dodge Ram?
RichieT5 no its a Jeep Wrangler
Cool bridge!
look beautiful
Man, I love rain. I wish I didn't live in a desert.
I love rain too but not when I have to travel 190 miles...
@@michaelpruiksmawhat phone did you use to record this video? It looks really good for a phone especially in 2017
You need new windshield wipers.
Thanks for noticing I am currently accepting donations for new ones...
Michael Pruiksma haha
That is a long bridge. It looks quite old. Looks like you were driving and filming at the same time. Very dangerous.
Don’t try this at home...
It's about 4.5 miles long and about 185 ft high. The eastbound span opened in 1952, and the westbound span (the one he was driving on) opened in 1973. And yes, it can be a bit nerve-racking to drive across it, especially in heavy traffic and bad weather.
centuryrox thanks so much for the knowledge, I never knew that about the bay bridge.
@@ModernizedLifestyle Here's something else you might not know: The 1973 expansion (building the westbound span) was actually voted down by the MD voters, only to be overridden by the MD General Assembly and built anyway. In this case, that was a good thing. I can't imagine the traffic nightmares only having 1 span open to cross the bay would cause these days!
I'm curious, if know I have lilapsophobia so my mind takes it to the extreme, but do most people driving into a storm, especially ones that looks like that not think about it possibly having a tornado hidden in it? I get so freaked out I'll turn around before or find some business to wait for the storm to pass over cause I always assume a tornado is in every storm and it really sucks haha
I'm glad I don't drive❗I have astraphobia (fear of thunderstorms) and have had that since I was little.
thats a squall line witch means the wind is going in one direction and because of that there is no wind sheer and if there is little or no sheer then tornado development is unlikely
Great Video.greetings from germany
Cindy Türpitz thanks Cindy
Nice work! We successfully hit 300 subscribers and 1,000 likes.
Last night was pretty rough for the bay
It definitely was... it was a rough flight to South Carolina too
@@michaelpruiksma I bet idk if I wouldve rather drove down they had winds of 80 down by Florence SC that was mess for SC
Awsome dude
😲O Lord Slow down!!! 🙈 Maybe a strom,But the view ls beautiful on the bridge.(lm scare of stroms 😁).Hey It looks like a tornado trying to form.Hope and pray God covers and protect Yall out there.
Sharon Everett Thank I was safe and sound. It just one of those things that happen. You can run from it or go right though it.
@@ModernizedLifestyle lm running child for cover 😂.Glad you made threw,Micheal l will not ride with you nowhere...
I'm assuming it was either during rush hour or the tail end of it because that west bound traffic towards the bridge was awful! The storm wasn't nearly as bad as it looked before you crossed the bridge. I thought it would be a lot of lightning or even some hail but I've driven through storms 100 times worse than this one.
I live in the town right before the Severn river bridge
That’s awesome... except for the traffic...
Use a cell phone mount 🤦♂️
Wait, why does the West bound look taller? Than the eastbound.💀
This is a heavy evening thunderstorm
One Xanax going over one going home to NC thank, you
Scary 😵
Tiffany Holt yeah.... it was worse than I thought it was. I’m just glad it lasted a few min and not the entire three hour drive.
جميل nice
Goodd,s🤗
Let me off at the Target in Bowie.
4:54 was that the Anne Arundel county fire dept on East side of the bay bridge
Liam Dempsey Fire Photography I have no idea... your guess is as good as mine.
I would be in the right lane just in case the weather would be to bad so I could pull up .
I see a crash at that bridge last month
How much does it cost to cross the bridge in 2022?
Holle what hoping the balitmore
