Tks so much for the review. Do you think I can use 24mm on that ? Or am I going to see the teleprompter edges?
I'm not aware that you would have a problem with that.
@@DustinAbbottTWI Yeah, I decided to buy it. I'm using Canon M50 with canon 24mm and works perfectly. Tks.
Tiago Matos would you anticipate issues using with a 16mm lens?
@@JayNBA Not sure about 16mm, but 24mm I certainly works great. However some people say 16mm also works fine.
Tiago Matos probably worth the shot... I’ve heard so many good things!
Hi Dustin. I was just scanning through your videos and noticed this review from two years ago. I just bought this teleprompter and for the money it seems pretty good. I use my very old Apple mini 3 tablet which works fine and I simply use the built in dictation feature and edit it after speaking. Saves doing copy paste! I got the Parrot app. The supplied remote works ok with the Parrot app for stop start as I had connection problems with the Desview one. I can set up the scroll speed manually with the Parrot app. I use my new Samyang 75mm lens (your excellent review helped me decide to buy it!) and sometimes the Sony 16-35mm zoom at 35mm. All in all, a useful bit of kit when I have a video to make which requires more speech to remember than usual...
That's great practical feedback.
Do i need to remove the UV Filter on my camera before installing this? or it just slide on even with the filter?
It probably would depend on the filter, but it might work
How can you place your phone at the middle, do the buttons disturb the phone?
I didn't find that they did.
Great review, thank you. I'm preparing to go on-cam on my channel for the first time soon. I'm staying inside and am fairly close to the camera. Might be picking this up.
I wish you the best!
Hey, Dustin! That’s a great review. I’ll be grateful if you could send me a link to the app you’re using on your phone. I’ve tried but couldn’t find any in the App Store. Thanks 👍🏼👍🏼
hai i am using sigma 16mm apsc, can i use it? does it have any edging problem?
I don't see why not.
hi Dustin, do you think the weight of the teleprompter PLUS the tablet will create an issue for the lens and/or mount?
There is a new T3 that is designed for tablets and might be a better choice if you're concerned.
Did you have any problems with being able to see the ghosted image of the white words as they scroll up the screen? I'm having trouble with that. Any advice? Thanks
I don't recall that being an issue. Is your screen clean?
@@DustinAbbottTWI yes absolutely. Never had an issue with my large 'pro' teleprompter. Perhaps it's because the phone is nearer to the glass. I'll keep playing with it.
@@DustinAbbottTWI Yes, everything spotless. I think the phone screen being too bright is the culprit. I can mitigate it somewhat by turning it down. I just worry that clients won't be able to read it properly. Have ordered a small tablet to try that.
Hi Dustin, could you use the tameron lens at widest (28mm zoom) and not see the edges of the telepromter in the field of view? i have a sony a7 camera with 28mm full frame lens too.
I think you could.
Yes, I got the Desview T2, the attached app is not good, is there an app on the iPhone that can be controlled from the Desview T2 remote control, I have a Lasagna app that does not respond to the Desview T2 remote control. Thank you my friend
Hmmm, I haven’t really experimented with other apps and the Desview remote. In my T3 review I talk about an app that works by voice control.
Thank you so much...do you think this will attach with canon G7X Mark III?
As long as the filter size matches one in the box, no problem.
what kind of camera should i buy for this? what camera are you using?
You can use it with most any camera. I've used it with the Sony a7RIII and Sony Alpha 1
Hey. Thanks for the content. Will it accommodates lenses with 87 mm ring size? Will this suit and fit in?
I've never seen that filter size. I'm not sure, offhand.
Thanks for Good Review. My query I am using Canon 200D Mark 2 and using this lens EF-S 18-55mm f4 is STM Lens.
Will this teleprompter work with this lens?
It definitely should.
Thank you, Dustin! This was very helpful : )
Glad it was helpful!
Hey, can you still see yourself with the pop out screen, or is it hidden?
I would say in many cases it would be hidden.
What is the widest lens you can use with this?
I don't know for certain - you might want to reach to them and ask.
Does the app allow you to autoscroll the script and follow your voice as you go?
I'm not aware of a "follow-your-voice option"
is it possibble to see the flip screen if the flip screen on camera facing to us? i think the telepromter might block the flip screen...
There's high likelihood that would be the case. You would probably want an external monitor mounted on top of the teleprompter if you also wanted to see framing.
Thanks so much for this review. Im interested in the Desview.
In have the basic Sony 16-50mm Lens with 40.5 filter size. Are there any size up adapters for this so I can use this teleprompter or other work arounds?
Thanks
Using a "step-up ring" would work.
@@DustinAbbottTWI Thanks so much for your response. Will try it out and hope it works. Take care.
Hi Dustin,
Thank you for the fabulous review , What about using the combination of PPT Mirror + Teleprompter ? to lead you while you speak and outstrip script memorizing by simply using your existing Powerpoint slides using Tablet or smartphone to record sales videos.
It probably would work.
Hey Dustin, how does the foam work? Do you have to use it, where do I place it? Please help :)
I don't think you need to use the foam if you are filming through the Teleprompter.
@@DustinAbbottTWI no worries, all good managed to film without using it and turned out fine :)
What battery is required for remote
AAA, I believe.
Hi Dustin,
Thank you for the review, very helpful super duper.
My pleasure!
Well, I use Android based phone and I don't have any problems with the copying and pasting more than 4 Word Office pages in Desview prompter Android App.
That's interesting. Good news for Android shooters. Maybe an iOS quirk?
Yes me too. Easy to copy from Google Docs into App on Android 11
Do you know if it’s compatible with a GoPro?
I don't know that
Is there any glare issues?
Not that I saw.
Dustin, I have a little problem with the download app for both devices. I have a mini Ipad and Android phone. Please help
Hi there, Andrise, that's a question best directed to the company. I haven't used it extensively enough to do tech support,
Hi Dr. Andrise Bass
Try check out Teleprompter app called ppt-mirror.com , supports both devices. maybe it could help . best wishes
so what ring should I use for a 50mm lens
That depends on the 50mm lens and its filter size.
Thank you, very helpful. If I had better vision I would get this,
There's a new T3 version with a larger viewing area that might be a better choice.
@@DustinAbbottTWI thanks. I'll check it out. I just scrawl cue cards behind the camera- so I don't have to wear my Mr Magoo glasses.
Grateful for all this useful info...thank you
Glad it was helpful!
@@DustinAbbottTWI question! Is it possible to use other teleprompter apps such as Nano teleprompter, or is it necessary to synch up with the Desview one?
@@DustinAbbottTWI this is a total deal breaker for me because my videos are very script heavy, and Nano teleprompter imports Word docs directly from Google Drive
If you look through the comments, you will see some of the workarounds that others have suggested. I don't know the answer to your question.
@@DustinAbbottTWI I just bought the Desview. About to find out! Will report back here when I know more....
Very helpful. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Does it block the flip screen?
I would say it would.
Hey. If you cut and paste a black text on white background it’s NOT going to show on your prompter. You need to inverse the text in your word document first and then cut and paste.
Interesting feedback. Thank you!
thank YOU !!!
You're welcome!
why not go for the T3, you know?
I would say yes, the T3 is the better choice now. When I did this review, however, the T3 didn't exist.
I don't understand why they do not make remote controls with soft silicone buttons which do not create annoying clicking sound which gets recorded in video. In today's tech age it does not require you to be a rocket scientist.
Several tv remotes are noiseless, but I cannot find a single silent remote in market that can be used with a teleprompter. If you know one, please inform.
That's a solid point, and I don't have your answer.
Hi SDMaktab,
Simply mirror-flip your powerpoint slides within some seconds using this tool ua-cam.com/video/wknjNwuNLkY/v-deo.html for your Tablet ,iPad etc and immediately use in a teleprompter using soft butterfly pedal page flip to switch the slides( its a no noise and good option than using apps forces you to read word for word)
Hello, Congratulations Cool. 👍👏👏👏
Thanks
The text input is a HUGE BUMMER. I was concerned about this and was hopeful that I could somehow copy and paste in my text. No way I can type out my scripts on a phone. Hopefully someone will figure out a solution to address this.
Look through the comments. There are some suggestions there.
I purchased the PromptSmart app, with that I can upload a document to my On Drive account and import it into the app. Also, PromptSmart can be controlled by voice activation, you speak, it scrolls, you don't speak, it doesn't scroll.
@@evertondel The recent reviews on the PromptSmart app have been extremely negative. Could you please share your experience with it?
Can you use a Samsung tablet to use for the teleprompter and use a Samsung Galaxy phone for recording?
I don't see why not.
When you COPY/PASTE into the teleprompter, have you tried pasting the text as PLAIN TEXT?
The need to type everything in would prevent me from purchasing it.
Good Luck.
Since you are typically working on a smart device rather than a computer, I don't think you get that degree of control over how paste operates. I tried coming out of iOS notes, which is pretty much plain text, and still without success.
my words show up backwards. don't know how to fix this. please help!
There's a setting in the app that will allow you to invert the text.
@@DustinAbbottTWI got it now...thanks so much!
i just wish this hunk of black plastic and acrilyc that costed Desview $5(max $10) to make wasn't $120 just because it has a remote & app that nobody asked for, this would be cool for streaming with a C920 but this costs twice the amount of the webcam and 25% of a Sony A5100 LOL
That might be an underestimation of manufacturing costs (they have to include quite a number of adapters and different pieces), but I'm sure there is a decent profit margin there.
The lack of cut and paste is a deal breaker.
Look through the comments. A few workarounds have been reported.
Biden and his team could have used that. Instead of looking into a corner, maybe he would have been able to look at the camera while reading prepared answers to prerecorded questions.
LOL.
