Yeah i don't get it either. Other peoples sexuality is their own business. As long as both are old enough and no one is forced, then i don't really care.
Finding a group of people to hate for arbitrary reasons is a common way for parties with no good policies to get support. They don't really care that much about the group but giving people a group to blame and hate can used to gain power.
Some people need an enemy to hate and look down on to build their sense of self-worth and identity. They can justify it in noble terms, such as following God's will, protecting family values and shielding children from immoral influence. It makes them feel better about themselves.

I will get hated and bashed, but I honestly don't care. Seeing in the comments it only shows what liberals are really watching. I didn't vote for Fico, but happy we have him (I thought I would never say those words). Yes they did bad things in the past, and they should be held accountable, but considering after Fico's prior government, we had Igor Matovic, who was not only a psychopath, but did facist things. I'm not surprised people voted in Fico and have met many young people who also never would have thought that they say those words that they're happy he's there now. As someone living in Canada for most of my life, I came back, and liberalism is really a facist a neo-marxist ideology (read the communist manifesto), and liberalism is modern socialism. The reason why in Eastern Europe liberalism hasn't prevailed yet, is because the generation that lived through communism see that it is exactly the same thing as they have lived and experienced. As the older generation is dying out, we're headed towards the same marxist regime that we were in. Young people are too ignorant, as they don't read history and every time it was liberalism that destroyed civilizations and societies (ie. Roman Empire). People talk about Mafia, and sure Fico has his 'mafia tactics,' but its only in a local level, and if it's local you're more likely to prosecute it, analyse, etc. If you let in a foreign mafia (our "friends" over the Atlantic) then they will have a firm grip in power, and you will not be able to prosecute or get rid of it; they are the ones forcing us with the [liberal] ideology. If you let an ideology in, you will not get rid of it (mark my words). The ideology of liberalism if we let into our country, we will not get rid of it!!
I don't really think it's far right to say you buy your own canvas for your paintings of naked men. Do I do understand it's an attack on democracy. And playing to the Russian playbook.

Otherwise, they are too easily oppressed and - abused as scapegoats for problems. Clearly, many EU citizens do not know, understand or agree with this principle. It aims to balance majority rule and minority rights, ensure fair representation so that all groups have a voice in government, combat discrimination which still happens despite legal protections.

Němci si také volili NSDAP ve velkém...
Nope, LESS than 23 % voters elected Fico. If it was not for closeted gay, spineless Podrztaska Pelle, Fico would be in opposition right now.
If theu are allowed to protest, that means that there is democracy and freedom of speech. The government came out of democratic elections and elections and referendum are the only two democratic ways the citizens have the chance to make a change. Someone wins, someone loose. And it is usually the loosers that protest, but ask them how many of them really did take part in the elections or referendum. Obviously, the great part of those protests is about money and funds. In 2023 only and only from the Ministry of culture of the Slovak Republic the father of a leader of one of the party in oposition gained 69.000 thousand EUR. It is known that there were fuds also from other ministeries. The actual goverment decided that the funds will be closely monitored and they cut a part of the funds to the non-govermental agencies. I do not have any problem with that. If an agency calls itself "non-governmental", why asking money from governmental funds??? If an nongov agency gets funds from abroad, they should be identified as foreign agencies - just like it is in the US. A law is under preparation that would very likely copy as much as possible from the US law. If the public tolerate such law in the US, ther is absolutely no problem accepting such law in Slovakia. But their leaders where elected, how are they dictator loving?
a) NATO doesn't have anything to do with anything, it's a defense alliance, not a political one.
b) paradoxically, the EU doing that would be authoritarian and end up being counter productive considering the circumstances. As if these governments weren't eurosceptic enough as it is.
c) there's no mechanism to kick out EU members, which was intentional to prevent abuse. All they can do is stop funding their government budgets and halt voting rights, which is good enough if you ask me.
Eventually these governments go away, right vs left politics is typically cyclical, especially so in Europe. For a few years these right governments will improve some things, make other things worse, people will get tired and Europe will have a "left" wave", rinse and repeat.
To isolate somebody in the EU (take their voting rights away) requires all other countries to agree. You can not throw two out at the same time.

To discredit and forbid undesired art serves as a political calculated way to consolidate power, control public expression, and promote certain ideologies while silencing dissent.
In this particular case the LGBT+ artist represents the undesired minority. This can easiliy be replaced by, for example, a specific religious group or by immigrants. Perfect minorities to blame for problems.
As a principle of the Western free and open democracy minorities, in particular political powerless, are protected against the tyranny of the majority.
It is truly tragic what's happening to our country and it's hard not to fall into hopelessness and despair, but we mustn't! They have now passed a law that limits the right to gather and protest.

Incredibly one sided commentary, tendentious and whats more important the facts don't match.
Soo basically you're Simkovicova's lap dog 😆 she loves that word 😂 Enlighten me as to which facts don't match, please.🤔
@@Dr.Gloomy Instead o providing counter arguments, you chose to speak in hieroglyphs. Well done. Progressivism in its full glory. Or in other words, disguised regressivism.
@@InFlamesor12 It's a pity that I can't understand your broken English ("Instead o"), and you consider the term "lap dog" a hieroglyph 😂 What is more, you state that the "facts don't match", while having 0 idea who Simkovicova is. That tells me that you really aren't the right person to speak about this coverage of the situation happening in Slovakia.
@@Dr.Gloomy Quite a retort. Your arguments are irrefutable. Joking aside, it's simple english, pretty basic in terms of difficulty. But it's quite possibly too difficult for you to understand, which is totally understandable given you talk in hieroglyphs and according to your stance on which political spectrum you reside on.
So do not worry, when you grow up from this adolescent pubertal phase you'll be able to talk like a normal human being and respect other people's views on specific subject matter.
To make it clear: as slovak citizen i am happy for actual government. Our liberal wing is a shame for our country making a bad picture! They spread lot of lies . Please dont believe it all i highly recommend to people who are watching this. Slovak citizens already voted twice and we chose this governement in majority!!!!!!respect the will of people!
most succesful artist and i dont know him :D :D :D
They will always hide talented ones of nowdays and rather show history of artists.
Would be interesting to investigate what SNS did at Nitra during years of 1996 - 2000 and also what made Slota say the famous sentence which went like "We will go to Budapest with tanks."
Easy, he was drunk, and his political strategy was to hate Hungarians. Current SNS leader, on the other hand, loves Orban 🤷♀️
🇸🇰 Slovakia should support 🏳️🌈LGBTQ people and stay a democratic country
Lol 😂😂
No

Apparently you can't have it both ways
Slovakia is a democratic country. They don't need you to tell them what they should or should not do.
"Its high time for Scholtz to become a leader and disregard public oppinion." - Michaela Kuffner editor DW. (Sounds pretty autoritarian to me)
Reminds me of what's happening In Italy under Meloni's anti-LGBT stance
History is a great teacher. To discredit and forbid undesired art served as a political calculated way to consolidate power, control public expression, and promote certain ideologies while silencing dissent.
In this particular case the LGBT+ artist represents the undesired minority. This can easiliy be replaced by, for example, a specific religious group or by immigrants. Perfect minorities to blame for problems.

wtf? your comment makes 0 sense.
I guess Slovakia wants to take Poland's place in the autocratic countries club? :D Since we have left it in october last year
Autocracy is like cancer. Defeated in one country, it moves to another.
What????
hopefully our stay in the club will be short!
I’m sure russia wants exactly this.
Russia could not care less about Europe. They are done with you. Russia has everything. Not only all natural resources, but they are building their industry.
Economically they are ahead of Germany, while Germany and the whole EU are de-industrializing. The whole world is laughing at Europe.

Calling SNS far-right is... laughable
Isn't this what people voted for seems like democracy 🤷♂️
Yeah, this is in Slovak democratic tradition where one prominent SMER member said: "Win the election, then you can do anything." That's a big misunderstanding of democracy. It's called Tyranny of the majority and it's a well-known concept. Except for those who don't mind erasing any plurality, discussion, healthy public sector, culture, etc. And that's what we've got here. And don't forget, laws for the rulers, not for people and good of the society.
Yeah, but did they vote for THIS? Also, there's the whole idea that even democracy shouldn't get to suppress minorities.
So, it's democratic to not face punishment for murdering 2 people just because you have friends in the government 😂?
@@Manole5500 feels more like corruption no?
You dont have thatmuch problem about tyranny of the majority when your very liberal government literally steals the property of ethnic groups in 2022.@@virgo47
