This was honestly so funny, but so sad at the same time. Roman is the sibling out of the four that we see the least serious, he rarely expresses anything without a punchline. And here, he genuinely seems like he's trying to reach out 'normally', not through jaded half-truth jokes, and he gets shut down immediately. It's so sibling-esque of them though. I love this scene. This show is so layered.

I think most people commenting are missing the point of this scene. Yes they're sharing a fun bonding experience, being themselves and laughing among siblings. But the point is that suddenly their father arrives and the whole mood changes. In my opinion it just shows how bad of an influence and how much of a strain he is on their relationship.

Tragic and funny. Surface level it’s endearing. Poignant/tragic because all 3 are so dead inside, and terrified of dealing with their own feelings. Sometimes the people you ought to be the closest with are the very people that for so many complicated reasons are the people with whom - you’d rather die than honestly share your feelings with. The scene is therefore funny, but tragic. End result is the absolute loneliness all three siblings must be in. But in a strange despondent way, all 3 console each other that they’re not alone in the fact that they’re all completely alone.

The way he was reaching out to his sibs to provide some connection was spot on as a trauma response. Unfortunately, the trauma is so deeply rooted within this sibling/family dynamic that they revert to familiar coping strategies of humor and sarcasm to deal with emotional discomfort. Quite sad. Then, when you wonder what connection would have happened if this moment would have continued organically, the helicopter is heard and BAM.....Logan mood shift.

I missed that episode. Holy f*** I missed the whole finale of season 2 because it wasn't uploaded. I thought season 2 only had 9 episodes. Because if I had watched this scene I'd have remembered. Binged the whole thing since last monday.
    Boiii that sucks. ession.

I think Shiv and Roman would one day get over it.
Not Ken tho, Jeremy Strong pretty much said he offed himself.

This is how shallow I am, I got distracted by the cushions. I think they're Bevilacqua, which would suit the yacht but I can't be sure. It could be worse, I suppose. Some people were just obsessed by Shiv's hat.

    • @kimberlyklaus7296

Why is that shallow? I was obsessed most of the show trying to find out where I could find Shiv's hat.

Yeah I fixated in Shiv's hat and the way she's holding her book but I think it's because I might like women
