I recently came into roughly 250 rolls of pennies that were rolled over a period from the 1950's-1970's. I've only opened a couple so far: 1 roll of wheaties (40-58) and a roll of 1970-S that absolutely looks uncirculated. The luster is amazing. I'm excited to see what's in store.
people have lived that long but I've only ever heard of like 3 people that have, if someone did live from 1823 to 1940 we would have probably heard of them because of how rarely that happens
Nice brother I just got some 1960 bank rolls of quarters my LCS got like 300! .. I'm doing several guard House boxes of B U and proof's.. my favorite.. hard to get seems like?
Laminations on silver war nickels actually DETRACT from their value rather than adding to them. A perfect strike is far more desirable, as laminations were a rather common occurrence on this poorly alloyed metal.
What do you do with the wrappers? Funnily, when I went thru my grandpa’s wrapped coins, I kept the wrappers just cuz they were old, but NO idea what to do with them.
I understand what you're saying but with the pre 83 Lincoln since they're really worth about three to four cents of their copper in value I know you cannot melt them down yet but I personally saved them because just like silver coinage, you will be able to melt pennies eventually. I look at every one of them as little $0.03 pieces.
@Silverpicker This was the first coin channel that I found after that I started getting the coin books, and then I started my channel (or renamed it) to Feltys Coins! And I've had some success three months after becoming a coin channel I started streaming.
True, but you don't know how long you'll have to hold it before you can sell it for such a price. I'd say better invest that money in crypto, stocks, or PMs
@@Silverpicker Granted. I've been known to day trade stocks and crypto. But I prefer tangible assets. Something about feeling my money 😉 I'm glad you mentioned in the video about profit margins. Too many people think businesses are out there to just give and take 1to1. They don't realize YOU have to make a living as well. I think 75% is quite fair. Your "Tombstone Note" concept sounds like a good idea. The problem here is the one you found would make the person 117 years old. Hang in there - it's still a good idea.
Yes and it was the only coin minted in 1932 because of the Depression .Only reason it got minted that year was because it was the 200th anniversary of Washington's birth .

It's weird that the silver certificates are only worth a little more than a buck, because it's not like you ever find those in circulation. I guess a LOT of them have been saved, or there is no demand.
The correct way to pronounce the building on the back of the nickels is "Monticello." Hope that helps. Interestingly enough, war nickels have the highest silver content per dollar of face value of any US coin intended for circulation.
Honestly some of those 60's cents are getting hard to find in decent condition. Maybe it's just me but I'd hang on to those at least. (Heck some 70's and 80's are getting harder to find that good.)

Even if you don't find any key dates, EVERY pre 82 penny is worth 3-5¢ depending on the copper market. Today (3/15/22) pre-82 melt value is about 3¢

I have my own term for the toning of War nickels that I'm quite fond of and that, I think, has a nice ring to it: Gunmetal Green
I dug up a 1909 Cent, a VDB at Yokohamas. I also dug my only Indian, 1889 there. 1944 Cents ate returned to circulation.

And correction: the first year of Washington quarters was 1932, not '38.

The steel cents have zinc on them. There are fakes that are re-zinced. I have 3 of each mint graded MS 67. For fun.
Re-zinced ones aren’t fake
Sweet video

I've got a 2013 $5 bill with a serial number that starts with 876. Is it anything special?
the copper in penny is worth 2 cents
Where do you find these old rolls of Penny or other old rolls of coins 😳
The penny rolls with the Lincoln memorial cents should have been only wheat cents. I wonder why the seller did that.
What I think happened there is that he probably bought them as "undearched" rolls (I mean original seller not silver picker)
