For Jooheon, he (and I.M) are 2 of the most credited idols with the Korea Copyright Association. He’s been writing for other groups since before he debuted and other companies would even ask for him to train their trainees in rap. He’s been producing for MX since their beginning but the bsides, and writing for the title tracks. But he produced Gambler, Love and Rush Hour. They vote on what songs make albums, and for Gambler, when MX didn’t like a title track potential A&R picked up, they told the company and ended up voting to make Gambler the title track and Jooheon has been doing a lot of the titles since then. He’s a HUGE MJ fan. Also MX has had a huge influence on the soundscape and aesthetics of 4th gen esp 4th bgs. Stray Kids are big fans and look up to them too (there are cute videos of BangChan reacting to them)

The self expression being the most pronounced in Gambler, Love and Rush Hour is spot on because those are all produced and created by a member! Joohoney is the mastermind behind these signature Monsta X title tracks.
Wonho was accused of using "cannabis" by a female who got her kicks by accusing idols of illegal things. (she was finally caught and arrested years later) Anyhow, Wonho was cleared of these allegations, but during all this, he left Monsta X because he cared about the backlash the rest of the group might get. He has since gone solo under a sister company of Starship and was doing a damn fine job of it until he had to take a break due to mandatory military service.

I should NOT have read the comments first before watching the reaction video…I love it when I see new people discover and react to Monsta X for the first time…now I have a feeling I’m going to be sad and disappointed. Yes, everyone has their own opinion but the amount of work and dedication these men have put into making, writing and PRODUCING their music and for their talent to be brushed off like lint is disappointing. Are you guys vocal experts because I have watched reactions by vocal coaches that have stated everything you said as BS. Monsta X are one of the best vocal groups in K-Pop. For me where Monsta-X really shines on their b-sides. I go back and listen to their albums in their entirety on a regular basis. As the members are given more control and input the better the music gets. They have solo albums! I.M has my favourite discography so far.. About the vocals, i didn't expect that comments tbh. Kihyun especially has great, powerful voice and shines live at concerts too. Monsta X has great title tracks but their B-sides is where they'll really catch you. Like Crescendo, Nobody Else, You can't hold My Heart, Autobahn, Wildfire, AND etc.
Ohh you need to hear more of them, they really have vocal songs... they still have this energy so characteristic of Monsta X but they are so versatile... "UR" is one of them, also "Jealously" among others... however thanks for react and being honest ❤

I was thinking about joining the Discord to request MONSTA X just the other day. Seems like someone beat me to the punch. I’ve been a Monbebe since pre-debut. It’s insane to think I’ve been a fan of these guys for 9 YEARS. It feels like they debuted just yesterday. While I disagreed with some of the takes (besides the takes about the English song. Their Korean and Japanese catalogue CLEARS), I enjoyed watching this video as always. Thanks so much for the informative videos. It’s rare to find this kind of reaction content where there’s in-depth discussion about the music! I am not big on Discord and I’m a little bit awkward so I’m unsure about joining it but seeing as this video is newer with less comments, I figured I’d recommend a group that reactors don’t get to often because they’ve been inactive for a bit - Block B. Block B was (and still is) one of my ult groups before MX. MONSTA X reminds me a lot of them. They have both released solo projects too. I can't name I.M's songs readily but for Joohoney you can also check out Smokey and Hype Energy just for starters. Personally, I think they throw down on energy and rap with Beastmode and Zone but they don't have videos so you'll have to go with a live performance or lyric video. (Saw those two in concert and the Whole place was vibing). For vocals, I end up going back to the English songs. Probably, because I know those best but I definitely agree with others that they Have the vocals. So, One Day, Whispers in the Dark, Someone's Someone, and Who Do You Love. I'm sure others will come up with more but these are my recs. Hope you'll continue down the rabbit hole that is MX and Kpop. 😊

So, found you all since I am a Monbebe. I disliked you less as the video continued 😂 My take away, you need to only listen to the NEWEST Monsta X music and b-sides. They are basically given free reign now on their music. Honey is one of the best all around people in kpop, especially writer/producer. Kyun is worldly singing, hands down known as one of the best singers in all of kpop. You are correct about their rapping because this is the best rap line in kpop.
You guys should react to their vocals then. Monsta X has amazing vocals. I always get goosebumps. Sometimes you gotta close ur eyes and listen to their songs, then you can hear them singing, especially kihyuns vocals in the background hitting all notes
I think their title tracks are not vocal songs and based on your reactions I think you wouldnt vibe to their title tracks. Maybe try out their other title tracks but I would recommend b-sides. AND, Wild fire, Deny, Crescendo, UR.
Monbebe here... Hero was the song that hooked me but when I heard their other songs is when I fell in love. Gambler, Love, and Rush Hour were all produced and written by JooHoney. They are also the most recent. I will say IMO the MX b-sides are WAY better than their title tracks (aside from the three JooHoney did). Their vocals are amazing, but these songs are not their best vocal songs in my opinion.
Sadly their first english album is NOT copyright friendly. Any video or song you want to react to from their 1st engliah album will immediately be blocked. The second English album is a bit friendlier in the copyright.
Joohoney has a solo (I personally don’t like it) but he also has two mixtapes that are so good and worth listening to, some of the tracks have mvs if you guys are interested in reacting to them. He and changkyun have an unreleased rap track that they performed at a concert called sambakja (?) and it has that energy that you can compare to stray kids I think, the performance is in UA-cam too and the dinamic is really good. Joohoney has produced several songs for Monsta x but gambler was his first title track, he also produced Love and rush hour. Changkyun and Hyungwon are also producers of some of their songs but hyungwon doesn’t only produce for Monsta x but for several other groups. Most of the members already have their own solos except for Minhyuk who doesn’t have one yet, and Hyungwon and shownu have a subunit. I hope to see more reactions to mx. I really like the honest reviews 💕
I also would like to recommend Cosmic girls (WJSN). They’re also from starship entertainment and have in my opinion the best songs in kpop. Exy, the leader and the rapper is also a songwriter and producer not only for wjsn but for other groups too like IVE, Cravity and much more.

They also have a ton of newer stuff that is full English and their Bsides are usually better - imo - than their title tracks - less formulatic with the singing to rap ratio - not everyone has to sing on B side, unlike title tracks, so songs can showcase certain members better allowing for more vocal range - more diversity of genre The album that Love is on has so many great B sides... Im pretty sure I have Burning Up and And on loop for a week. tl;dr Their title tracks are "hits" but they don't showcase much outside the formulaic style of kpop music.

Ok, so I’ve watched the video and I will say that I will respect your feelings and opinions…if you just don’t like them, you don’t like them and that’s fair, but I feel like you did harp on them a lot. Their sound IS NOT like everyone else, you keep comparing them to other groups and I think you have to separate them. They are not Stay Kids, Ateez or BTS. They are been a group for 9 years and have worked very hard to get where they are. I am happy to hear you’re willing to keep an open mind and listen to more of their music but I think you’ll continue to dislike most of the content until you fully understand they are MONSTA X….unlike any other group. 😊

Are you guys vocal experts because I have watched reactions by vocal coaches that have stated everything you said as BS. Monsta X are one of the best vocal groups in K-Pop. Maybe if you don’t want us jumping on you don’t react to them. Joohoney would rip you all to shreds for the comments you just stated about his group and all the songs you reacted to he produced them. Love is his baby.

As a side note... both their rappers (Jooheon and IM) and lead singer (Kihyun) have solo albums.

For me where Monsta-X really shines on their b-sides. I go back and listen to their albums in their entirety on a regular basis. As the members are given more control and input the better the music gets. I think y’all should do a part 2. This is a teensy drop into their discography. They have an entire English album (2? I think). And their bsides are tasty.

I definitely have issues with the song choices here. It's not a good sampling. Also, makes sense ya'll wouldn't like MONSTA X since Kihyun (main vocal) loves Imagine Dragons.
They have solo albums! I.M has my favourite discography so far.. About the vocals, i didn't expect that comments tbh. Kihyun especially has great, powerful voice and shines live at concerts too. I don't think they dislike the vocals. What i am hearing is that the first 2 songs they have hear aren't good produced to show of vocals.
Monsta X has great title tracks but their B-sides is where they'll really catch you. Like Crescendo, Nobody Else, You can't hold My Heart, Autobahn, Wildfire, AND etc.
UR is a ballad and is a live performance you might like to check even on your own. Is one of my favourite songs of MX. Thank you ❤
Ohh you need to hear more of them, they really have vocal songs... they still have this energy so characteristic of Monsta X but they are so versatile... "UR" is one of them, also "Jealously" among others... however thanks for react and being honest ❤

You guys should check out I.M and Jooheon Sambakja from a concert. they rip the stage. this is their energy. They go hard on this.

K profile does have when idols produce or song write but it’s under their fun facts. They don’t put it under position because it’s technically not a position. I know looking at the fun facts is a lot but I suggest doing a brief skim! Love hearing your honest opinions though!
I was thinking about joining the Discord to request MONSTA X just the other day. Seems like someone beat me to the punch. I’ve been a Monbebe since pre-debut. It’s insane to think I’ve been a fan of these guys for 9 YEARS. It feels like they debuted just yesterday. While I disagreed with some of the takes (besides the takes about the English song. Their Korean and Japanese catalogue CLEARS), I enjoyed watching this video as always. Thanks so much for the informative videos. It’s rare to find this kind of reaction content where there’s in-depth discussion about the music!

Block B was (and still is) one of my ult groups before MX. MONSTA X reminds me a lot of them. This is the only one I know right off with both of them. They have both released solo projects too. I can't name I.M's songs readily but for Joohoney you can also check out Smokey and Hype Energy just for starters.
For MX as a group there really is so much. Fighter, Jealousy, Shoot Out, and Love Killa are options. Personally, I think they throw down on energy and rap with Beastmode and Zone but they don't have videos so you'll have to go with a live performance or lyric video. (Saw those two in concert and the Whole place was vibing). For vocals, I end up going back to the English songs. Probably, because I know those best but I definitely agree with others that they Have the vocals. So, One Day, Whispers in the Dark, Someone's Someone, and Who Do You Love.
I'm sure others will come up with more but these are my recs. Hope you'll continue down the rabbit hole that is MX and Kpop. 😊

Well it's coming from a hater, it's totally understandable for the harsh comment (tho u should tone it down, because kihyun was definitely deliver the vocal). And the song recommendation... We have more to introduce, maybe it should be shoot out, dramarama, rush hour, love, and ballad track from english album
So, found you all since I am a Monbebe. I disliked you less as the video continued 😂 My take away, you need to only listen to the NEWEST Monsta X music and b-sides. They are basically given free reign now on their music. Honey is one of the best all around people in kpop, especially writer/producer. Kyun is worldly singing, hands down known as one of the best singers in all of kpop. You are correct about their rapping because this is the best rap line in kpop.

I think their title tracks are not vocal songs and based on your reactions I think you wouldnt vibe to their title tracks. Maybe try out their other title tracks but I would recommend b-sides.

Monbebe here... Hero was the song that hooked me but when I heard their other songs is when I fell in love. Gambler, Love, and Rush Hour were all produced and written by JooHoney. They are also the most recent. I will say IMO the MX b-sides are WAY better than their title tracks (aside from the three JooHoney did). Their vocals are amazing, but these songs are not their best vocal songs in my opinion.
Sadly their first english album is NOT copyright friendly. Any video or song you want to react to from their 1st engliah album will immediately be blocked.
The second English album is a bit friendlier in the copyright.
Joohoney has a solo (I personally don’t like it) but he also has two mixtapes that are so good and worth listening to, some of the tracks have mvs if you guys are interested in reacting to them.
He and changkyun have an unreleased rap track that they performed at a concert called sambakja (?) and it has that energy that you can compare to stray kids I think, the performance is in UA-cam too and the dinamic is really good.
Joohoney has produced several songs for Monsta x but gambler was his first title track, he also produced Love and rush hour. Changkyun and Hyungwon are also producers of some of their songs but hyungwon doesn’t only produce for Monsta x but for several other groups.
Most of the members already have their own solos except for Minhyuk who doesn’t have one yet, and Hyungwon and shownu have a subunit.

I also would like to recommend Cosmic girls (WJSN). They’re also from starship entertainment and have in my opinion the best songs in kpop. Exy, the leader and the rapper is also a songwriter and producer not only for wjsn but for other groups too like IVE, Cravity and much more.

I love Monsta X but don't really like Hero, I prefer Alligator, Shoot Out, and Jealousy from their older albums. They also have a ton of newer stuff that is full English and their Bsides are usually better - imo - than their title tracks
- less formulatic with the singing to rap ratio
- not everyone has to sing on B side, unlike title tracks, so songs can showcase certain members better allowing for more vocal range
- more diversity of genre
The album that Love is on has so many great B sides... Im pretty sure I have Burning Up and And on loop for a week.
tl;dr Their title tracks are "hits" but they don't showcase much outside the formulaic style of kpop music.
