I think that the Suzuki Jimny is one of the most underrated 4WD’s out there. I’ve seen many “serious” 4WD enthusiasts seriously embarrassed by a Jimny leaving them behind in the mud! Big is not always better!
Good news! Suzuki Jimny will be back in Europe in 2021 - they will be converting it into a Commercial N1 class vehicle in the UK to bypass the low CO2 emission regulations for new cars. It will be exactly the same apart from the rear seats have been removed in favour of a dedicated cargo area.
Which I'm sure you will be able to buy the rear seats from the dealer if you want them, essentially making it exactly the same. Win win for everyone.
I consider this ideal, because I would throw the seats out anyway.
Jimny is the most fun you can have in a 4wd on the tracks. Bloody awesome little rig. Great video mate.
Thanks mate!
I can remember in the 70s when Suzuki brought out their first model. It was a little 2 stroke engine and then my cousin bought the Daihatsu which had a 4 stroke engine. He used to take it on our Landcruiser club trips and impressed everyone then with their capabilities. This pocket rocket would go great on sand with its light weight.
My first 4wd was a 1976 Suzuki LJ50 with 539cc of raw 2 stroke power! Ran rings around Cruisers and Range Rovers off road back in those days. Would love to try out this new one
Portal axels, lower gearing, diff locks this would be awesome.
A dream😍
just get a different car at that point
You can have Portals they fit , from Tibus
I feel like portal axles on this would be a sure way to tip it over
always froth these little zooks no matter the year model, guaranteed to be a little weapon! sick video tyler
love me a zook as well mate!
Thanks mate!
If someone knows how to test a car it’s you! Well done 👍
Thanks mate!
Happy to know you get the recognition you deserve , top bloke from what ive seen 👌
Thank you! 🙏
Awesome cars, my first 4WD when I was 18 was a Suzuki Sierra and I took it everywhere, snow, Fraser Island, you name it.
Thats awesome mate, they are a pretty capable little rig
Awesome video Tyler! Can’t wait to see the next video. I’ve had one of these since March. It is seriously fun. Really keen on hearing more about that long range fuel tank!
With packing, you really have to forgo the comforts of travelling with more than 2. Roof rack had been essential.
Thanks mate, they are an awesome little rig!
Reminds me of learning to 4WD in a 1989 Suzuki Vitara... people used to underestimate my car all the time!! The Jimny fascinate me given my history with Suzuki so I can't wait to see what you do with it.
Cheers mate!
Mate, love the content!! Looks like you really gave it a proper workout on tough tracks. Definitely the best review out there! Looking forward to the rest of the Jimny series. I saw this out the front of Lancasters after you posted the first teaser on Instagram. Someone did a damn good job cleaning it!
Thanks mate! Appreciate it, yep was definitely going to need a good clean haha
I wish we had the Jimny in the States.
I used to have a Suzuki Sierra. You had to rev it and bounce through the tracks.
One of the most fun 4wds I’ve ever had.
Would love to get a new jimny.
Yep same with these ones haha
Great video! Can't wait to hear the reactions from the Jimny crowd. Looks like a tin can full of fun.
Sure was mate!
Good quick review Tyler! You looked happy with a big smile after the fun you had in it!
Yep certainly did! haha
Got one of these for my wife as she’s not too keen on my 110. Brilliant beastie, although you need to keep it revving (no good crawling on idle). It’s a piece of genius, so a shame Suzuki are already stopping it (over here in Blighty at least) despite massive unmet demand!?!
I thought, at the very last minute you were preparing to apologise to the owner and then decided nah, Jimny made me do it!! Great footage.
Haha maybe should have
My first car was a brand new 81' Suzuki Sierra 970cc (?) 4 speed, chocolate brown! Low back Vinyl seats, driver passenger only. I put some Desert Duelers on it, Sheel Bucket seats (cost me a fortune), Full length Galvanized Roof cage, decked out the back, huge Pearce and Simpson 27MHz Super Panther Radio lol and other bits and pieces. Loved it. Backed into a tree just two weeks after buying it then rolled it up in the Watagans about 6 months later. Back then they fixed cars more than writing them off. Took her all around Tazy too. Sad day saying good buy. Stepped up into the wider wheel base Sierra 5 Speed 1.3 with the back seats. Went from that to a 81' Troopy!!! Was like driving a semi at first. How I miss the 80's and 90's.
Thats awesome mate, they are a great little rig!
Nice, honest review. Amazing car. No wonder there is so much demand for this car.
Cheers mate! Yep the guys at the dealer told me its about a one year wait to get one at the moment 😅
Suzuki would clean up if they fitted these with a1.8 - 2.0 litre motor. While the may be awesome on the tracks, 4000rpm at 100km/h would drive me mad.
My 2020 Jimny manual turns over at 3000rpm when doing 60mph (100kmh)
Even better would be a solid little TD unit.
4JJ1 that shit
@@lewdog9647 .....Sorry, but why the fuck would you want to put a 322kg/710 lb fucking engine, into it?
I pretty much guarantee you would have to cut out the firewall and move it back probably 6 inches just to get the damn engine in.
@@dposcuro most sensible thing said.
"Dad, they spelled falcon wrong" - MY MAN! As someone who once went into a Fone Zone to tell them they had misspelled phone, I feel you mate.
To Dad - Thanks for the video mate. Just considering these lightweight 4x4s and very interesting to see how capable they can be, whilst also having some real limitations with cabin capacity etc.
Haha thanks mate, cheers for the feedback
You get a great little 4WD to test , very reliable and capable off-road and you call it "THIS THING" many times , what a D.H. :-)
I've been sooo hanging out to see the Jimny in action. Can't wait for the watagans videos.
Cheers!
As mentioned in the video difflocks would make a big difference when driving bumpy sections and the Jimny could also do with a much lower low range transfer gear, 4 to 1 minimum, ideally 6 to 1, hopefully this will soon be available.
Loved this one brother 👍
What a little unit, 👍
thats what i want to see not your typical 4wd but something different and way capable , love the zooks , and nice one
Thanks 👍
Tyler, mentioned long range tank...is that an IronMan product? could you elaborate or advise please. That is of extreme interest to me. Thanks
The Long Ranger have made a 80 litre long range tank. Hasn't been released yet but will be in the coming days.
Yep I was told Ironman will have one available soon, you'll have to check with them when
@@IMLYINGISWEAR encouraging news
@@TylerThompson90 awesome read
Its like a gokart offroad.
Cool car bro, very capable, looked like a lot of fun, looking forward to the videos 👍👍👍
Thanks mate 🙌
This thing deserves the spot next to the. If guys like wranglers and the likes. A little beast I would enjoy a lot having also.
The rear leafs let the 70’s down unfortunately. Good video 👍
Full sending giving it all 18 horsepower hahah...
What a weapon of a thing. Love the Jimny
Bloody awesome mate! Got me sold on this rig now. I would love it if you could find out the lift in more detail, what size, any other mods to go alongside it (panhandle, break lines etc) and the rim offset? Also was there any scrubbing, and dis they have to cut the guards at all?
I had a 1990 Sierra, tyre pressure was key off road, 12 psi is like 20 psi on a big 4wd. Saves your back too.
Thanks for the tip mate!
And if it tops over a few guys can put it back on it’s tyres 😂
Yep! 😂
Right on, bro.
We literally did that to my mates old Jimmy. 3 of us had to push it from tipping over. Had such a good time and you do need good balls to drive one of these on gnarly track. Love it to bits.
Its like putting a roof on my quadrunner lol, looks like a lot of fun. Great video as usual mate. 👍
Thanks mate!
I think these things are absolutely awesome here in the UK just a shame we only have the 1.3 petrol here 👍🏴sorry my mistake it does come in the 1.5 🙄
Great review! Would've been great to have seen pricing on the various parts.
Fortunately, we've got a number of aftermarket gear reduction kits now
Most all rounded capable off roader on market today.
Love my Jimny. Can't afford all of these mods yet but it still goes pretty good stock.
They are an awesome rig!
Car reviews now, multi talented, great footage little zook went well
Thanks mate!
What a little beast!!
Great review was looking forward to seeing how these went off-road
Thanks! 👍
Amazing little beast Tyler. looks like you had a ball. That was pretty surprising, actually. I suppose the lightweight aspects of it gives it some advantage. If you could afford to just have a 4x4 vehicle to flog and another daily driver, that would be the way to go. I was at a 4x4 camping place just recently and a guy came in towing his "toy" on a trailer. good for him.
Thanks for the video mate, very entertaining, again.
Not just light weight...fantastic approach, departure and rampover angles make these very nimble off road
@@snells-window ..Yeah, they seem to have it all, don't they. It would be a lot of fun.
Cheers mate, they definitely are a super capable 4wd
If you had to choose between a Np300 or Jimny both at the same price, what would you choose ?
Not comparable, Almost buy two zukes for the price of a Np300
@@aussiecue dunno they seem to be about 40k on carsales ? even with 20thousand kms..
Still go the Jimny mate, just a better 4wd for all uses including daily driver haha, plus bigger trips, touring, comfort, room etc. I think both 4wd's can be more capable then the other, just depends on the terrain
@@TylerThompson90 REALLY ! didnt think youd say that! im little torn dunno what to do haha
@@TylerThompson90 daily driver. Ok if u live next to 20 service stations... 40 litre tank ain't gunna go far.
Solid little work horse
Nice beer delivering system !!
Fantastic little 4WD. Very capble.
Love it man, if only it sounded like shad's cruiser
That is a cool little truck. Cheers Steve
Love ya work Tyler 👑
Cool little car. The Suzuki 4x4 was always a good fun little 4x4, all the way back to the 3 cylinder two-stoke models of the 1970s. They always surprised with their ability, they'd go just about anywhere. Back then, their only drawback was their top speed, which from memory was about 80Kph, and the little engine would be screaming Lol...
They are a lot of fun mate!
I want one 😫
Love the videos keep up the good work👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Appreciate it!
What a little weapon, looks like a heap of fun :D
Yep sure was! haha
Awesome vehicle go anywhere so light thanks for giving us a look 👍
Cheers mate
I don’t know much about the GVM on these cars but I can imagine you’d get close to the limit when you add on all these mods
Ironman now have a gvm upgrade with their suspension kit. At least extra 200kg I think.
0:50 That beer is a tragedy.
Awesome very capable little 4x4's. Be wicked to see how you test it 👍👍
Thanks mate!
That’s a great beard you got there!
Haha cheers!
Loved this!! My daughter is defiantly getting one as a first car 🚘
Daniel defiantly? Weird
Tyler Durden - absolutely! She’s grown up 4x4ing. We certainly don’t follow the masses 🤠
Nor would you surely with a name like “Tyler durden” 🤜🏼
@@Daniel-qt1br but defiantly.....
Not definitely..
Definite..
Defiant.
Greg's mate. I see. Definitely
Great little weapon if you're starting out
Hey, does your Jimny have a throttle controller ?
Looks like heaps of fun
Needs reduction gears with those larger tyres, my Suzuki Sierra was the same, you lose your low range with the larger tyres.
Holy crap, I thought it must have had lockers. This would have been awesome compared to your navara.
FYI petrol 'jerry can' should be kept full for as long as possible as an empty one contains a mixture of petrol and air(oxygen)
Even if washed?
What about air in the petrol tank after you’ve used some? Neither tank nor jerry can tend to spontaneously combust. Just don’t check the level in the dark using matches...
absolutely love these little beasts! Awsome you got a chance to really test one out!, Gotta live on a whole nother level of minimalism to tour in it though haha Do you think its as capable or more than the nav?
They are a pretty awesome little rig mate! Think it depends on the terrain as to what is more capable, maybe the nav overall though
No car handles like somebody else’s eh? Awesome!
Amazing..well done my friend!
Great car review - looks like a fun 4wd
My zook loves the tracks in the watagans
You’re starting to look like Santa Claus lol
Hello mate,
wonderful mods !!!
Do you remember the rim's offset ?
Thanks in advance
Auto would be the go
The beard suits ya m8!
Thanks!
Awsome video! Is that waterfall in the Watagans?
Cheers! Yep it is 👌
Susukis are just 4 wheeled motorbikes,i had a lj80 with a 1.6 toyota 5 speed conversion and i never used 4wd much
very nice.
You just beat the shit out of it.
it was nice of Lancasters to loan you the Suzi
Brutal el mejor off road de zuzuky jinmny
Little beast 🙌
Wish we had them here in the states
Great stuff mate, How was it going down steep sections.
If you used the hill descent thing it had then wasn't too bad, if you didn't put that one would constantly speed up way too much. And then always dodgy with the angles in a short wheel base haha
I don’t get the fanatics that diff locker this diff locker that. I haven’t ever had one and have always kept up ,and my cousin out does almost everyone without ever owning lockers
Hi, do you know where I can find the front bumper? that's a hell of a jimny !
Its an Ironman bullbar 👌
Does the tractioncontrol work with a way lower gearing maybe 4:1 in transfercase?
What would be the all in price for this? Car & Mods?
That looks like a fun little 4wd cant wait to see it on the tracks .
Excellent.
No problems with that spare tire? It doesn't mess up the rear door due to its weight?
Seemed to be all good!
The miatas of the offroad world
Anyone know what lift is on this jimny, my guess is the 50mm ironman. but just would like that confirmed
Was just at watagans, walked the entire creek road 😂
Lucky people
Great vid! Front and Rear lockers and 215 tyres should sort out the need to always send it for the all grip system to work
Did you get any water inside?
Cheers! Nope no water inside
Standard the payload of this is only 320kg. I can see this thing being over GVM. Very nice car though. You are pretty rough on the little car :)
Thanks mate! Yeah not sure if its over GVM.
