- Also by request, I present to you the QTE fails of Yakuza 4 :D It's much longer than 3's since obviously there are more characters and the idea of QTEs were used much more in this game. I hope you enjoy it!
I like the idea of every of the main characters being utterly incompetent.
Saejima running at the gates three times and getting hit every time, then standing up only to get hit straight in the fucking face by that Saito guy makes me crack up.
Yakuza 7 could be a game about a yakuza whose fighting skills are utter shit, yet he wins almost every fight, despite the odds being against him. He also doesn't know how to dress like a gangster, is hardly intimidating, has almost no game whatsoever with women (but has inadvertent charm), has a terrible singing voice, no respect from his peers, and yet tries so hard to be all of those things.
That would very well be the Aoki Masaru of the Yakuza series.

I mean, given how we've also played as a loan shark, two different detectives and a former baseball player, why not have a character with similar traits to that be something along the lines of what Japanese society would call "gaijin"?
I mean, not only would it also bring a bit of a "fish out of water" dynamic to the thing (along with essentially being dragged into affairs by just simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time), but I guess it'd be an interesting thing to have this guy's side of the story lead him from a hapless tool that's far too in over his head, into an actual badass, that's basically grown adjusted to life in Japan's underbelly.

I like how if you fail the QTE at 6:15 but win the fight, then Kiryu canonically goes through the entire rest of the story with an untreated broken arm
i mean tanimura has the first part of hell's floor/gauntlet as a heat action with the same cyan flash over it, and iirc it's not guaranteed to finish off an enemy. so if it can't 100% take down a regular thug, why would that stop kiryu lol

I REALLY like the noise Majima makes when he does that spinning jump kick off the wall. It's just so funny, and I don't know why.

I think Saejima's gates QTE(1:11) is the funniest.I mean seriously,he failed again and again and after second gate fail when he sees another gate falling you can just feel how he thinks "Oh,come on..."...and fails yet againXD Sudden guard at the end who hits him is just cherry on the top))))
And of all characters poor Tanimura suffered the most.Yeah other characters got beaten up,Akiyama was slashed with a chainsaw,but seriously,Tanimura was not only beaten up but also run over by a semi-truck,crushed by logs,burned and got shot numerous times.Universe really hates him))))

For some reason the games very rarely have a QTE fail that makes you just straight up die from failing. I think in 5 Saejima can be one shotted by a speeding car when he's in the city in the story.
@@Chillwave6 for very obvious reasons, it's better to have, even if over-the-top, qte fail just beat your ass rather than force you to do the entire battle again just because you weren't ready

I always thought that truck would kill Tanimura if I failed. Then I remembered I'm playing Yakuza.
Idk why but Tanimura getting bodied by the truck gets me everytime
its the sound he makes when he gets hit by the truck that gets me 🤣
The way you kept the music through the multi-stage QTEs really helped the video flow nicely. I know I'm late, but this was nice!

It's interesting how Saejima hits Kiryu the same way Kiryu hits himself if you hit the QTE in AF7 Dragon God,
but Kiryu winning against Saejima is what happens if you fail the QTE in IF7. Woulda thought it'd be the other way around.

Reminds me of the Tomb Raider QTEs where if you fail, Laura dies in absolutely brutal ways. I genuinely couldn't handle Yakuza if the QTE fails were designed like that.

I like daigo's voice but every sound he makes during fights are so funny for some reason
The Daigo QTE's show that Daigo is bad at screaming IMO, so it makes me laugh sometimes hearing him, no offense to people who like him, because I like him too.

One thing I love about these games are is that they don't kill you if you mess up but you just take damage instead
Some of them are insta-kills, though.
Tbh would be pretty lame if you had to redo an entire section because you missed a QTE at full health

i always level the guys 5 levels each chapter. so before the 5th chapter's boss/important fight happen i'm already level 20

hey do you have any tips or tricks that could help me? I'm currently playing a standard playthrough on EX-Hard [not premium] I keep having problems with Saejima's escape part, mostly that darn sniper area.. that place alone used up all whatever health item i can find x-x
SilferIII Hmm, well.. try to hit the doors with square 3 times then walk away until the laser becomes green, then hit the door 3 times with square again and walk away when the laser becomes green and so on.
Dont know if you're still on the part but i say stick to Grabs and heavy weapons
I used to have trouble with that part on Ex Hard new game too but then I discovered the "swinging big barrels" strategy. During the part with lots of dudes in your way along with the sniper, quickly reach the final breakable door there to get the "Hamazaki beating the snot out of sniper" cutscene. Hide behind any object to avoid getting surrounded and try to stay away from dudes who throw stun bombs unless if you're done decimating the others.
