It's finally here, i've seen several people asking for a QTE fails video and I decided to do it. I hope you enjoy the getting-beat-up-fest xD
I have yet to find evidence dissuading my theory that the Yakuza universe is actually comprised of people made of concrete that fill their clothes with and are constantly holding ketchup packets. There's just no other logical explanation.
They also are literally only capable of dying from gunshots at critical moments.

I actually failed that. It's cool that Kiryu accidentaly says that he's from Dojima family, and the Yamanoi mentions it. Quite a nice touch.
I didn't know that there will be QTE in conversation section. So I put down my controller and failed that entirely.
I restarted the game when I fucked it up cuz I didn’t want oda to be mad at me

Also I'd like to know how Kiryu getting his arm sliced by a buzzsaw, getting gashed open by a katana AND getting rocketed hurt less than him taking ashtrays to the face. That's just silly.

Holy shit, the fact that Awano can punch Majima's head and crack the wall at the same time is scary yet awesome as hell. :)
david tong I know right! I thought if you'd fail the QTE, he'd just punch Majima and it'd cause a lot of damage, but nope, it causes less damage than I expected (unfortunately) but he still cracks the wall!
devilleon7 I had the same thought about that one part, like you would expect for Awano to deal some heavy dmg to you but it did less dmg than we both expected it to. Still that's insane that, again, Awano can not only punch Majima's head but still manage to crack the freakin' wall! Like holy crap!

@@devilleon7 In hindsight, Majima repeatedly gets back up no matter how many times Kiryu or anybody else beats him down. Even after getting shot and falling into the pier, even after being bloodied taking the entire Sengoku family, Majima appears to have lightning fast healing speeds and is back to normal his next appearance even if it happens at most a day later.

Majima's opponent consist of an ex-Chinese mafia hitman (Wei Han Lee), a literal madman (Nishitani), Tojo clan secret police (the Nikkyo consortum), and the most deadly assassin in the continent (Lao Gui), of course his fails are more painful

whats funny is that you get a trophy if you fail the QTE as majima when reina hits you with the bottle it's like if it was made to happen.

On PS4 the achievement is earned when you successfully achieve the qte.

Wen Hai Lee's God Hand fail looks the most painful. As a karate instructor, I've been in similar joint locks. The thumb press just makes everything. Its applying pressure to one of the most sensitive pressure points in the human body which is the back of the forearm below the elbow. Applying pressure with the thumb like that in that specific joint lock has the pain equivalent of having a burning hot plate pressed against your skin as your arm breaks. In real life, majimas arm would be rendered unusable for the remainder of the fight and probably need a few hours to even heal just a little bit. Excruciatingly painful. Makes me wonder if actual martial artists put these moves in

I've heard that getting stabbed feels like you are being punched.
The recovery is the most painful part of being stabbed, not the actual stabbing itself. :/

Honestly i do think the last missed qte actually makes that scene EVEN more badass than it already is.
Like shibusauwa almost defeated has a last ditch punch but kiryu just tanks it and delivers the finishing blow. Thats BADASS MAN!
It really does. I actually failed it and a couple of the other QTE's before it and it left Kiryu on an extremely tiny sliver of health as he landed the final blow. Made the fight feel a lot closer, more intense and more badass.
Yh in that last scene I actually missed the qte on accident as I thought the fight was done and didn’t expect the punch lol
My mentality with most of the QTE's was *if I fuck this up I'm dead* so I didn't miss most of em.

I love how so many of these are intense martial arts beatdowns, and then there's one where Majima just gets crushed by a closing partition.
I love how the failures range from getting horribly killed to just taking a slight amount of damage to... nothing. lol

Well no kid, Awano literally cracked the wall while throwing a deadly punch to Majima
The hit's effect is harder than the hit itselft, also Majima was lucky, if Awano punched him a certain point near the eyebrow he was already dead even if he survived the hit.
Awano had delivered maximum clobberage to Majima’s skull
4:40. That's one freaking durable car if an RPG failed to blow it up when it blows up every car in GTA.
5:41. That's all the little bottle of Staminan X can heal? You think Reina would have Staminan Spark instead but nooooo. Staminan X would suffice apparently

As for the Staminan X QTE, I do wish she threw a better healing item xD Hahaha
Imagine if she threw a toughness infinity and you fail the QTE and bum, nishiki's health Is back to the green bar.
Even better, if Majima yoinks it, it is a full heal and heat gauge for him.
I find it hilarious that Majima survived that godly punch to the dome at 6:07
If you say Kashiwagi's QTE on Hard/Legend is easy then either:
1. You're A liar
2. You guessed the button
3. You're A god/Devilleon7

Ive done it without a problem, meanwhile when the Karaoke speeds up to its fastest speed I Can't get the prompts right.

I did the QTE on Hard with no fail. I played on PC. Low framerate.

Kuze deserves more than just being Kiryu's punching bag
Thịnh Phan A fellow Yakuza fan told me how it would've been much better if Kuze won against Kiryu in the first battle or 2, but after Kiryu gains more experience, he'd be able to beat him. And I do agree.
I honestly thought I was supposed to lose when I first faced Kuze on my first playthrough.
devilleon7 indeed, that would help the battle making more sense too, like "Lose and you will be kicked out of the family", if Kiryu wins and still got kicked so what's the goal of the battle?

Kuze chases him over and over precisely for leaving the Dojima family, which is why Kiryu is regarded as a traitor from that moment onwards. Kuze wanted him to stay, to manipulate Kiryu so as to become the 'kashira' of Dojima (the post that Kazama held before being sent to prison).
Majima: "Gosh golly, I've been stabbed, shot, and had my eyes gouged, better drink this energy drink and see perfectly again"

Majima: Has his arm and back broken, is slashed across the face, stabbed through the ankle and palm, has his head bashed into the wall with such force it shatters, is shot, and has his eye gouged out
Can't believe a punch that literally breaks concrete deals less damage than a gun.
Specifically a gun aimed at Majima's face (outside of a cutscene)
That wasn't even concrete. That was A MARBLE WALL that he put a fist-shaped hole and deep cracks into with one punch.
woah, it's hard for me to watch too. since i don't normally failed QTE and failing QTE is basically watching your fav character getting hit by enemies/bosses. But at least i know now, what's the consequences in failing them hahaha.

I remember being worried about being insta-killed by some of the QTE events, because of how long it was since I last saved. Good to know they are not instantly lethal.
I hope there's a mod where the Lao Gui's QTE was Insta-Kill, because, they are the most brutal in the entire game
I love the Kuze fail for the first fight. Makes him seem actually skilled in boxing instead of being Kiryu’s punching bag in that sequence, and makes the fight evenly matched.
I ran into and failed the one at 5:20 by complete accident.
I laughed so hard when I saw the achievement I had to pause the game.

I could feel that Last Majima one having a thumb pressed into his eye from a falling over position. It does help that I'm as close to being blind as you could imagine in my own left eye.
I hope to see one of these for non-combat scenarios. Failing the QTE to give your business card to the guy at the cafe was hilarious and had me thinking about it and laughing days later.

I knew something bad was gonna happen due to how easy they seemed to escape but I didn't think the car was gonna explode
I'll be honest and say that I was not suprised by Lee's death considering I'm Irish and car bombs were common place a good few decades ago, so when Lee got into the car I went "his car's gonna blow up on hm isn't it? Yeeep"

What if when you failed the QTE where Lao Gui pokes Majima's eye, the screen either goes black or gets very blurry because Majima is now completely blind.

Same problem here. Almost every time i can't push right button. Before i can react it already too late.
Reading "to of known" hurts more than all the hits in the video combined
The harder difficulties give almost no time to react, by the way. Especially Legend/Ex-hard. (And what makes that especially hard is that if you die, you can't restart the fight, you have to reload from a previous save.)

0:44 and 3:05 shows how Kuze was out of his prime till the end where finally lands a clean hard punch on Kiryu
I think missing some of these makes the fights better. The first Kuze QTE for example. Having him just barely dodge kinda adds to him being great at fighting. Kinda like their own heat attack

I like how Shibusawa's last QTE doesn't even result in a death like some of the other final bosses in the series. Dude's been so absolutely wrecked by that point that even if he does land a hit, Kiryu just comes back in and takes him out anyway.

One of my favorite things about this game is that it never just goes, "You failed the QTE haha you died," and instead it just gives you a damage penalty, or the enemy a health boost. Good design.

Dayum those Kuze reflexes in the first fight, Kiryu doesn't take any physical damage if you fail but Kuze styles all over him in comparison.
I just beat this game a couple of days ago and when I failed the QTE at 10:13 I thought I lost the fight but did a sigh of relief when I saw that Kiryu gives Shibusawa a punch to the face anyways.
i honestly didn't expect lee's godhand to play out like that, but i'm kinda relieved
