- Well here it is! My recap film of the 2019 Okie Tex Star Party. What an amazing week in the panhandle of Oklahoma with some of the darkest skies you'll get in North America. This is a longer video so grab a beverage and snack, sit back and relax! I hope you enjoy. I'll see you at the 2020 Okie Tex Star Party!

nitant hey thank you! I appreciate it and thanks for watching!
You know you’re an astronomy geek when you get audibly hyped about the new Okie Tex video dropping. But seriously I love your videos! It’s a dream of mine to make it to one of these events. Especially to see Elvira :)
Ben Fields hahah I love it! Thanks for watching!
I'm fairly new to this activity and doing all the reading and research I can. Just wanted you to know DSD that I watched this entire video and enjoyed it greatly. Appreciate all the work you put into this and all the post production time as well. And that you stayed until the end to kinda put a bow on the entire thing for us. If I may....if you ever do this or something similar again (and I hope you do) I would be interested in hearing more from the participants. Who are you, where are you from, how long have you been involved in this, what are you expecting or hoping to see here, any suggestions to others who are thinking of coming?? Etc. Just a suggestion from a beginner. Thanks again, really enjoyed it.
Wow. Thank you so much for such an amazing comment! This is exactly why I make these recap videos and always will so that people will have an idea of what goes on out there. In the past I've wanted to do interviews with people but I never could find the opportunity but that is definitely something I would like to add in the future. Thanks so much for stopping by and watching! I hope to meet you out in the field one day! :)
Have you ever been to an Okie Tex Star Party before? If so let me know in the comments!
Here in central Illinois got a bortal class 4 site ive been going to, getting good 30 second exposures with a goto 16" dob, can just barely make out milkyway with naked eye at the site ive been going to, hoping to make it out there to Okie Tex this year 2021, is the milky way eyepoping to the naked eye there? thanks for video
I was there with my boyfriend and his daughter in 2019
finally, xD , was awesome thank you ^_-
Nikki Fox 🤘
Thanks to you for this great video. Great winter time viewing and a chance to see what many of us can't go to from where we live in the NE. You really put the time in! Bravo!
Brian Reynolds hey thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed this one!
Loved the time lapse at the end!
Thanks so much! I love ending the star party vids with those. :)

No problem, I think it will be loaded on time. l will watch it tomarrow, now 23.25 pm here.
Спасибо,великолепное видео!
Спасибо за просмотр!
Great video! What’s that joystick collimator thingy in the beginning of the video?
Maurits Polak the one on Elvira? That’s a home build custom thing by Ed. 😎
@@DeepSkyDude Yeah, that's the one. Well. That's too bad then :-) Would be nice on my own scope to install. Great telescope that is. Too much tech to my liking but to each one's own.
Maurits Polak yeah it’s a monster with all the options you could ask for. Built from scratch. If you ever see it at a star party you have to go see it in person. It’s amazing.
@@DeepSkyDude Well, that's going to be hard as I am on the other side of the ocean in The Netherlands :-) So unless it is also equipped with some boatlike features I think that won't happen any day soon. Then again, the only thing missing from Elvira are wings and a hull so who knows!
A lot of time consuming editing, well done.
Damien K thanks! You’re right. This one was a huge one. I took 7.5 hours of footage and had to try to knock that down. It was a challenge for sure but I love it. Thanks for watching!
I wanna my sushi 🍣!!
soooooosh.
Mike Lockwood's F2.8 scope?
polyrhythmia yep!
These events have a lot of boomers like me. The generation of the giant dob.
How many attendees?
vanhouten64 I’m not too sure. There was quite a bit. Maybe around the 500-600 mark?
