Thank you so much. I’ve been organizing my clothing planner for my Alaska cruise next June. I’ve bought some thermal tops, my jackets, sweaters, hoodies etc and this little voice keeps nagging in my head that I need to buy more tops and stuff. When I’ve bought the things suggested. And then I was watching your video and I said “you have enough. Princess has laundries. Organize even more!” So with your labels I can mentality better know what I’m doing each day of the cruise, and what I will wear for each event. Eventually the little nagging packing voice will stop. 😂
@TinaBiebe We just got back from Alaskan cruise 4 weeks ago! Listen to the voice! We had cold wet weather. Form a few daily "outfit packs": base layer = tank top, then SS/LS TS , topper of Denim shirt/Flannel/HOODIE/Fleece 1/4 zip. Always have rain jacket available on or in day pack! Layers are essential. Bottoms: fleece lined leggings/joggers /regular leggings/hikers. If warmer: capris / shorts. Dressy nights /Signiature dining: artsy maxi skirt/ dressy sweater/ black sweater knit pants w/ wrap sweater. Black bike shorts w souvenir TS were shapewear/ lounge/ pj. Robes are provided in cabin. Black slip on Sketchers, warm hard soled slippers, waterproof ankle ht boots and athletic slides for Thermal Spa/pool. BB cap, gloves, warm scarf. Puffy vest. Costume jewelry, fun silk scarves enhance! No one cares if you wear things 2-3 x's. Just be clean & smell nice - you're Golden! We used 2 gal zip bags as compression bags inside cubes. Worked great.
Thank you!! What great information for an Alaskan cruiser. You are right, nobody cares what you're wearing or even notices if you wear something twice.
Wonderful idea. This will be extra helpful for my Europe/Med trip next spring. I would love to see how you do the hanging clothes so they don’t wrinkle. Thank you for sharing.
What a wonderful idea.Thank you so much.I am a grossly overpacker.Have done it for the last 20 cruises. And I thought I was hopeless. This will really help me thank you
Thank you for the tips I am going to try this on my last cruise. I am just a just what if packer and the toiletries and extra cruise items always get me.
Love this idea -I’m getting ready for my cruise and I had all these sticky notes everywhere trying to make sure I know exactly what to pack because I swore after my last cruise after rummaging through everything I brought and never able to find anything in all my stuff that I packed that I will never overpack again-this should help me Thanks.
Love your idea - it takes all the packing ideas a step further and reduces decision fatigue. One thing that occurred to me since there is a hotel stay pre and post cruise & I only do carryon, that bringing a garment bag is brilliant. The pre cruise night (hotel) means I can iron items and reorganize those ironed items into garment bag for boarding day and not spend time/energy with wrinkle releasers etc that can be time consuming. Going home just pack all into carryon as travel day clothes are typically not easily wrinkled anyway.
Thank you!! Yes, hotel time before is perfect for doing any last minute ironing etc.. I also pull out a swimsuit/cover and my first day dinner casual clothes to put in my carry on in case my luggage is late arriving to my room. This also lets me hop in the pool or hot tub during sail away if I want. 😃🚢🩵
Sounds interesting, thanks! I have a cruise to Iceland and Greenland coming up next summer. Will try implementing this. One thing I have never understood is why people are so adverse to wearing clothes more than once. I hang things out in the open overnight after wearing them. If it smells fine (and isn’t obviously dirty) in the morning, it gets put away to be worn again. My travel day outfit to get to my destination, is usually the same outfit I wear to go home. Same for the gala/formal night(s). If there are two, I wear the same outfit.
That sounds like an amazing trip!! I agree about wearing things twice. Some things you only have on for a few hrs. And nobody remembers what you wore. 😂
Thanks, really great ideas and tips. I make a note in my phone with day 1, day 2 etc to get me started but I really like the idea of the labels and maybe pack all day 1 attire together and so forth. Thanks.
Oh I don't put the garment bag in the suitcase. I put a certain number of days on hangers and they go in the garment bag. Then I take at least 2 outfits and put those in my suitcase or carryon bag. This will be a life saver if one of your bags gets "misplaced". You won't be without ANY cloths to wear until your lost bag is found.
“What if” gets me every time. I can’t even narrow down crossbody bag vs back pack vs sling bag vs beach bag vs carry all. Trying to keep myself from bringing all of them. 🤦🏽♀️
🤣 OMG I feel your pain! I did narrow my bags down to 3 small crossbody bags that convert to a fanny. And a backpack. (Plus I have to carry another camera bag 🤦♀️) Don’t they say recognizing you have a problem is a great first step? 🤣🩵🚢
@cruisesavvy yes indeed it is a problem. Also I just realized that I’m also going to need a formal purse for the formal nights along with the crossbody bag, back pack, sling bag, beach bag and carry all bag. 🤣
LMBO! I used to take a 'formal' purse, but I don't anymore. I just use my black crossbody or go without for those few hrs. So, last trip, I left my sling bag and beach bag, and used my backpack for my beach bag. Good luck! I know how hard it is, really!! haha
Going to try this on my Alaska cruise in September 2025. I'm going to try to pack carry only. But we have a few days in Vancouver before and after the cruise. Also, I might be taking the train cross country back home to Florida. Layers are a necessity due to weather change. I'm starting now! 😅 thank you!!!
I am a big what iffer 😂 We cruise to Alaska in Sept. I think shoes are going to be my downfall. Trying to decide between, my duck boots or my hiking boots. I love them both. Do yall check luggage or do carry on only? I’ve been trying to watch as many packing videos as possible. I need to see bringing to end. Haven’t seen this yet. Like show me what and how you pack, then show me what you are taking to the airport. I have only cruised once and have never flown. I’m sure I am way overthinking all of this. Packing for me my Caribbean cruise stressed me so much and i didn’t even fly to port. Also, I got caught up in all of the cruise essentials videos that I way over packed with those items too. Where do people put all this stuff lol?? I do know that 1 large suitcase, 1 medium suitcase and 1 large backpack (and that was just my stuff) was a lot to manage when self disembarking. Maybe I just need someone to come pack for me 😂
You’re right it’s not easy! The reason you don’t see it all in one video from start to finish is because the video would be way too long and people would never watch the entire thing. So most content creators try to break it into several videos. I also travel with a large suitcase, a garment bag, and a carry-on, yes you can check your bag when you get to the cruise port and you just get on the ship with a carry-on. I do have a video on my channel that tells you exactly what you need to pack in your carry-on and that’s one of the most important things you want to get right because once you check your bags, you’re not gonna find them again until they bring them to your cabin, which is usually close to dinner time. Alaska’s going to be a little more challenging because you’re taking heavier clothing. So try to double up where you can. One tip I can give you on the shoes is to wear you’re heavy shoes if you can on the plane so you don’t have to pack them, but you want to have at least two pair of outdoors shoes in the event and you get one wet in Alaska. The only time you need to worry about the weight of your bags is when you’re flying the cruise ship doesn’t weigh your bags. Good luck and enjoy your cruise.🥰🚢

It sounds like a good way to pack.
Haha it was much better than what I had been doing. 🤣
Thank you so much! I'm using your tips to pack for my next cruise!
🤗🙌
Sounds good. Clever idea
Thank you! 😊
Wonderful idea. This will be extra helpful for my Europe/Med trip next spring. I would love to see how you do the hanging clothes so they don’t wrinkle. Thank you for sharing.
Nothing special, I just hang them in a garment bag and they usually come out pretty good. I do take Downey wrinkle spray for any touch ups.
What a wonderful idea.Thank you so much.I am a grossly overpacker.Have done it for the last 20 cruises. And I thought I was hopeless. This will really help me thank you
Nice!!! I knew I wasn’t the only one 😂 I hope it helps you as much as it did me.
Great ideas !!!❤
Thx RSJ!
Love this tip❣️

I hope it helps!! It really helped me see how much I was overthinking and overpacking. Enjoy your cruise. 🚢
Thank you very helpful
Of course!! Thank you for watching.

You were heading in the same direction 🥰🩵 Enjoy your cruise.
This is wonderful! Thanks so much- using all the tips for 7 days except outfits on hangers because doing carry on only😊
I love it!!! Have a wonderful time.
Thank you I sure will!

So helpful!! Can you show how you put the garment bag in the suitcase? I need a visual lol.

Ohh! Now that’s a challenge. Let me know how you make out. 😊 Also don’t forget you can always get a few items laundered if needed.
I have no problem wearing clothes twice or 3 times. I use febreze clothes spray to freshen and remove wrinkles if not sweating. @@CruiseSavvy
You can also add dryer sheets to your suitcase and that will help keep your cloths smelling fresh.
