My first bike at 21 was a xs1100 with the xj1100 yics engine in it. Now I got a 79' xs1100 17k miles for $500. Definitely a underrated bike back then, and even now
This was the second bike i owned by the age of 23. It was fast and it pulled forever. I also slammed it on the bends and she stuck like glue. It would do well on the salt flats and i wish i still had her.
I got mine free from Craigslist’s “ free stuff” section, so happy🙂. Just need carbs rebuild, brake fluid, new battery, rear tire, and registration fee.
My neighbor has a Maxim available. It's been sitting for way too long, shes selling it for $300 and I'll have to dump $1,200 just to be able to ride it. I'll see if the engine works and if it does I'll buy it today
i have the yamaha maxum xj 1100 it runs good it needs a little love i cant wait till spring time to get some ridding in very nice bike and very fast i also have a 1985 honda magnum 6 speed water cooled shaft drive it needs a few things but i ride it here and thier and all i can say is it shits and gets bad ass bike both are i love the old school shit
We ran over budget half a dozen times trying to meet Historic Society Standards and code to get the C.O. We laid off our construction crew January 2016 when we ran out of money and now we just received grant money from the state to finish the remainder of the building. We will officially be open sometime in September, we're hoping!
Your numbers are low. I've owned 2 of these and both were 170+ mph bikes stock. The one that I dynoed was 107 hp stock. Remove the air box, change jets, and an aftermarket exhaust, and it was over 120hp, with a top speed of 186.6 mph. From take off too 6000 rpms, it was a rocket, from 6000 up, it would tear your arms off. More than one crotch rocket cried itself to sleep at night thinking about my tail light!!!

It's a 1982 Yamaha XJ1100 Maxim NOT a XS1100

สวัสดี ครับ 😍😍😍
Still for sale?
How come you guys are still not officially open yet? Why is the city giving you such a hard time.

cyc25ruffneck would you make a boo we with this bike
Stock 170+??? Let's not exaggerate.
I have one of these here in the uk fantastic bike top speed is 134mph standard youll find quick off the mark and so smooth
This wasn't the most powerful bike in 1982. The 1982 Suzuki GS 1100E would beat it. Still, very nice bike - I would love to own the 1100 Maxim.
The 1100 maxim was the fastest production bike in 82 FACT!, regardless of what you think.
Who?
The xj replaced the xs
cool
The XJ1100 IS THE MAXIM, IT'S NOT AN XS.
Too bad I'm not there I could help, or get a lot of the bikes running,, not much I don't know about Japanese bikes.
I want it!!!
