Pelicans are pretty nightmarish if you spend much time around them. There's not much they won't try and eat. Smaller birds, fish and sometimes even cats and small dogs. The latter two tend to end badly for the pelican, but I never said they were smart. Plus there's pretty viral image of a pelican that tried to fuck around with a turtle and found out in the form of getting it's throat pouch shredded.

These guys seem more and more aquatic the more we discover about them. It’s fun imagining what their lives must have been like. Did they wait by the shore, or float like a pelican? How could such a large creature with so many land-based features catch enough fish to sustain itself as a piscivorous specialist? Were they faster in the water than they may seem? We know so much yet so little about ancient life, it’s so cool.
I think currently it's believed they waded through the water and caught fish like a heron, but this hypothesis isn't without its flaws of course (because every spinosaurid hypothesis always turns out to be wrong so they always seem to have huge glaring flaws) since they had short legs so their body would be submerged creating a lot of drag and making them very visible to their prey, unlike herons.
True, but we relatively know stuff about the spinos. Sure we do not have all the material but we do have a general picture. As for the rex, it's the one we found a lot of bone and more or less complete fossils so we can piece it together better.
Spinosaurus has been my favorite dinosaur for years now but I always had a a problem with it. I always thought that it was lame or weaker because its mouth was always so small but hearing that its jaw(in the back) can elongate to swallow bigger bodies whole is just so damn cool.

Fun fact: irritator was named this because the palaeontologist couldn’t figure out where most of its bones were supposed to be in its body Edit: shit I used the wrong term
From what I remember, it was actually because before the actual experts got a hold of it, people broke and moved bits and pieces of the skull around, making an absolute mess of the fossil. Due to this, it was extremely difficult to fix it all up, and earned it that name
Just to clear up any confusion: the normal spinosaur from "The Isle" actually looks quite accurate, the one with split jaws is a "Type-H Spinosaur" a so to say mutated version of it
Specifically the (extremely underdeveloped) lore says that type H dinosaurs were modified specifically to be weapons, they eat far too much for an ecosystem to sustain.
