Bonjour à la France! 🙂
Coming back to your video after about four years -- now listening on a calibrated HiFi setup in a different living room (we've moved since then).
Holy moly, THIS. IS. AWESOME! The only better way to exoerience it would be to have been part of the live recital.
Perfect performance, perfect tempo 👌
Fantastic! "Powerfull" played and excellent recorded!!
What can one say about Mon. Dumont? Outstanding, wondrous interpretation, and great registration. Superlative.
Lindo!
Faça um vídeo tocando a tocata de Boellmann. 🙂
Très belle!!
💚
Excellent playing technique on that speed, Jean-Baptiste...
Have you ever tried a more "stateful" tempo? IMHO, this even more pushes the dramatic character of the piece, but that's just my personal preference. ;-)
Interestingly, I believe Marie-Claire Alain said of the section towards the end of this piece where there are handfuls of chords in the left hand that if you can play it and hit all the correct notes then you are not playing it fast enough!
@@Sathrandur Haha, this quote sounds familiar to me... I was pretty sure that I watched a video someday where I heard Mme. Alain herself say exactly that, but couldn't find the video anymore in my YT history.
Instead, I think her playing of the ending speaks for itself (where even she hits some correct notes): ua-cam.com/video/PrH-zCJMb7s/v-deo.html
:-D
Thanks for the comments. If I may : this is part of a recording meant to showcase this organ which will be completely rebuilt in a few years, and so, not an exegetic interpretation for a recording of Jehan Alain's music. The tempo is also a way to avoid a problematic organ to sound like "crap".
Jean-Baptiste Dupont. May we hear you play this at St Sernin. In fact I enjoy all of your UA-cam videos from St Sernin

Sounds marvelous to me. Including tempo. And your sound engineers are top notch. Also at St-Sernin. Rich clarity in all registers.
