So here's my monthly Reylo vid I guess! This is one of my favorite songs and I've used it with Spuffy before, but it fits Reylo even better I'd say!
idk why, but I have a thing for that bit at 2:22 when Kylo says "you can't hide Rey, not from me" with the way the music picks up, there's like a playful vibe to it almost like they're playing tag lol. Idk, but it kept making me smile when I was editing it haha. Or maybe it's cause it was like 2 a.m and I was starting to lose it cause I was also cracking up at Snoke's "and light to meet it" with Kylo turning around shirtless.
And I just love how soft the song is at first and then how intense it gets when the banjo hits imma right?
Anyway I enjoyed editing this even though it's always my excuse to procrastinate the stuff I should really be doing instead lol.
And thanks @hydesbride for helping me with that line at 0:30 and for being an amazing friend ❤️

1:43 this clip is just so good i can’t explain. and you are TALENTED you literally made me cry like the way things match up with the song and the lyrics, and the parallels and the everything.
OMG OMG OMG!!!! This video is the most perfect thing ever!!! This song is so intense and it builds to such a crescendo, I feel like it would be difficult to really do it justice, but I didn't doubt you would! Of course it turned out even better than I thought it would!!! I CAN'T EVEN PROCESS THIS!!!!
I'm super emotional today, so this video had a huge impact on my feels. Your audio is so clear. I can hear all of the voice overs and sound effects without even needing the headphones! Your videos always have such great sound! The way you opened with that voice over and the forest scene...already punching us in the gut! lol Ben is such a mess in the forest. I still can't believe there are people that don't see how off balance he is and just emotionally wrecked after killing his dad. Of course he wasn't going to be winning fights there. lol
I love the transition between their faces when Maz's voice over starts about the same eyes in different people. You made that a slow fade from Ben's face to Rey's and then vice versa, so it really does look like they have the same eyes at one point. Really pretty! And so haunting. Two sides of one soul. /cries/ "You are a monster" HIS FACE THERE HURTS ME, VAL. IT ALL HURTS.
And now the lyrics start, and everything is matched up to perfection!! "Rip the earth in two with your mind" I knew you would use the scene of the ground splitting there, but I love that you also incorporated their use of the force for the "with your mind" part!!! Brilliant! OMG I love that you used these scenes of Ben so intently looking at Rey's face for "I feel it again, the pull to the light" the freaking softness in his eyes in all three of those scenes you chose!!! Aaaaaaah!!!!
"I never meant you any harm" with Rey healing him....THIS IS KILLING ME!!! "Your tears feel warm as they fall on my forearm" I CAN'T. I JUST CAN'T. REY'S EYES BEING FULL OF EMOTION TO THE POINT OF TEARS FLOWING THEN HER LIFELESS BODY WITH DEAD EYES. OUCH DUDE.
I love the parallels of them closing their eyes to draw energy from the force! And the way you can hear Ben breathing as he heals Rey. So powerful. "patient smile" the greatest smile of all time. Anyone can fight me on this if they want. lol but no other smile will ever beat that one. xD
EEK ONE OF MY FAVE PARTS IS THE PARALLEL THAT STARTS AT 1:19. I don't think I have ever seen those moments put together quite like this, and it fits so well! The far out shots of Ben killing those two guys like that just flowed so seamlessly!! I also really love the combo of voice overs "I need somebody to show me my place" "the belonging you seek is not behind you. It is ahead", and "You're not alone" what a gorgeous sequence in the video!!!
Oh I love the scenes you used for "How can you say that your truth is better than ours" with their two interpretations of how they are meant to be together. Okay I am just writing down all the lyrics, but you matched this up FLAWLESSLY!! Like "Shoulder to shoulder, now brother we carry no arms" with the shots of them fighting together side by side!!
This part slays me though!! "the blind man sleeps in the doorway, his home" you gave this line SO much meaning!! It's about Rey being blind to what really happened to Ben, it's about Luke being blind to what was really going on with Ben, and it's about Ben being blindsided by what his uncle almost did to him. JUST WOW. I don't even know what else to say!
JFC sorry I am literally typing out the whole song/every clip you used, but I CAN'T HELP IT!! "If only I had an enemy bigger than my apathy I could have won" Holy crap!!! The "you're nothing" followed up with her closing the door on him and his fist closing. This is one of my fave parts! Though I am saying that about EVERY part it seems. lol but when his fist closes with the beat of the song, it just gave me chills!
Oh no..."I gave you all" with Ben reaching out and freaking BEGGING her to join him and then him just sitting on the ground broken and alone when she leaves. Damn dude!! That is harsh!!! But absolutely exquisite!!! This video packs such a punch! MANY punches actually!
When the beat picks up it is so awesome! I love the way you showed Rey trying to run away from him, paralleling the two forest scenes in TFA! That was cool! "darkness rises and light to meet it" okay amidst all the angst and turmoil in the video, I am going to be a perv here and say that I'm sure it was Ben's darkness that was "rising" when Rey watched him standing there shirtless. hehehe xD
"I gave you all" with Ben running to her and climbing up to her and just reaching out to her and OMG this god damn amazing video is too much for my soul to bear!!! "stand together, die together" OMG. IT IS TOO MUCH. TOO MUCH, I SAY!!
"and you rip it from my hands" holy hell, those scenes turned out so great there!!! I love the way it culminated in the "you've won" with the two scenes of her wounding him and the light saber breaking!! THAT WAS BEYOND EPIC AND THE PAIN IN MY HEART WAS JUST IMMENSE!!
"I gave you all" nooooooo.....but also yeeeeeesssss!!! This part I knew was coming, but was so not prepared for. His devastated face as he hugs her lifeless body and the way he brings her back. THE DEPTH OF LOVE WRITTEN ALL OVER HIS FACE AFTER REY IS REVIVED!!! And the unspeakable moment where he fades from her hands...God I'm so glad you showed him coming back to her in the end. As fitting as it would have been to just end with him fading away, I think it would have destroyed our hearts too much. As if they aren't destroyed already. lol but still! Thanks for the positive ending!!! /cries/

Wow. Sorry this is going to be short because like the other person said- Perfection. Can I just say how superior these two are together? Like I know everyone jumped for cursed, but just the energy between these two and the way you captured it with an already powerful song just really. I'm at a loss of words here. My hat is off, I have waited so long for a video that would top the other one I saw to this song years ago- you toppled it. Minimal voice overs, minimal text- all angles, timing and transitioning. I'm overwhelmed here.
