Highlights From Hadestown on Broadway

- Anaïs Mitchell's underworld-set folk opera, which premiered Off-Broadway at New York Theatre Workshop in 2016, returns to New York following its London premiere at the National Theatre last fall. Tony nominee Rachel Chavkin directs the production, set to open April 17. Mitchell authored the book, music, and lyrics for Hadestown, making the show the first Broadway musical to feature a book, music, and lyrics by a sole female writer since Elizabeth Swados’ 1978 Runaways.
The cast is led by Tony Award nominee Eva Noblezada (Miss Saigon) as Eurydice and Reeve Carney (Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark) as Orpheus. The are joined by André De Shields (The Full Monty) as Hermes, Patrick Page (Saint Joan) as Hades, and Amber Gray (The Great Comet) as Persephone.
I’m confused. This said highlights. I thought it would be the whole show.
Is Eva Noblezada Filipina? God her voice just fits her character! It's like the Broadway gods created this role just for her! ❤

I know they will win most Tonys this year. They will. Such a beautiful, and well written musical. The stars are just as magnificent as the stage, lighting, and the music.

I'm already seeing this show, The Prom and BMC right up there at the Tony Awards. (It's just me predicting. I know I seen them all and they were all good... But this will sweep)
Hadestown & The Prom got nominated, but Be More Chill didn’t.
I hope this sweeps a lot of the categories at the Tony's!! I love it so much

The part where Eurydice sings it is Wait For Me II and the part where Orpheus sings it is Wait For Me I.
That’s only in the Broadway soundtrack though and I don’t believe they’ve released the cast recordings for them yet.

Can anyone tell me the title of the song beginning at 0:47, please? The one where Eurydice sings the famous "Wait for me, I'm coming!" and reprises what Orpheus sang to her? I want to listen to it, but can't find it. Thank you! :) I can't wait for the OBC to come out soon!

As they said, it's "Wait For Me II" BUT the broadway cast recording version isnt out yet so you wont be able to hear Eva singing the reprise yet

I agree!! (Might be a bit biased bc I don’t particularly like Reeve in general but oh well)
rubywings I agree. Reeve Carney was the only actor NOT nominated for a Tony. Damon is doing just fine as Curly in Oklahoma! I saw Hadestown off Broadway and recently in previews.
No shade, but I miss the original cast. Damon Duanno was amazing as Orpheus.
