Great strategy in your edit - a-roll on the primary storyline, b-roll connected above, get the main story right first. Always a clean way to build a story.
Yeah, I did not even realise that a B-roll could be added in this manner. Learning all the time. I shall try this in my next video clip.
As a newer content creator with no formal training, videos like this are so helpful. I'd love for you to do more videos like this. There are few that offer good how to information. I appreciate your step by step.
You're in the right place.
Coming from a complete beginner this is really helpful.Getting bogged down is where i am at right now.
I have tried quite a few of your tips over the last year and am making videos that go viral every few weeks. I plan to try these plugins on my next project to see if I can bump up my AVD. These tips are GOLD. I got my audio dialed in a few months ago and now I’ll be able to use some good graphics. My goal is to make great videos with minimal time editing. Thanks!
When you showed the amount of work you put into it and it only took a day my mouth dropped 😮
A long day of staying hyper focused.
@@JevenDovey truly is incredible and will work to get there one day
What a fantastic way of explaining things. Thanks a million, man.
You have dropped some useful info.
These motion effects are exactly what I am looking for. Thank you so much Jeven.
Wow... what a time saver. Thank you. Why you don't have more subscribers is beyond me. OUTSTANDING tutorials!
This is a fantastic run-through of how to add real content to video footage. Thanks so much; I can really use this for my videos to make them have even greater impact. Love your work!
Trying to improve my video editing here... Thank you for this, very helpful. Subscribed!
Craving your next videos all the time 🥰
your explanation just helped me with the process on editing efficiently.
that package is incredible, will be checking it out and maybe contacting them to see if I can use my own images in some of them.
Great job! Nice to see what your FCP timeline looks like and your techniques. Thank you for sharing.
Amen brother. Always edit the main story first (often along with the music as a 'pace') Then Voiceover Then B-roll. Then render. Then watch it 1 day later and sort the little tweaks. Then upload and forget about FOREVER! (I've been a filmaker for 15 years)
THANK YOU! Learning how to speed up my workflow so i could create more, and this really helped alot. You have always been my best guide for editing, much appreciate it and will keep tuned in. Cheers from Singapore 🇸🇬!
Awesome, thankyou for all your easy to follow guidance 🍻
This video is awesome and actually sort of has me excited about video editing again! Thank you!
I usually consume more time editing my videos. But I'll to reducing time in editing. I'm new in editing, so it takes time. Watching here from Philippines. 🤗
Good stuff and a humble guy too.
Great video about making a great video! Thank you for educating us and sharing your brain power! Clearly editing is a labor of love and you have made it look easier!
Learning a lot of editing tips for my channel from you man! Aiming for 1k subs this year getting close
Really great editing tips. The first video I saw was your overview of the Mavic Mini 3 Pro. Then I checked out your DJI Mic overview. Excellent explanations. Thanks for all the great info. :) 🎉
cool breakdown m8. stay creative!
Thanks for the tips and tricks, so cool how you get things done,..
Thanks for sharing how to put your project together, could you also talk about how to synchronize visual and graphic effects with sound effects.
What's the equivalent to this for premiere?
This was great and the channel always has helpful content. However, YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO ALL OF THIS to have professional content. Newcomers should know, if your content is good, it’s good, and ppl will watch. Concentrate on spending most of your time planning and executing your content or story, editing skills will come later.
Also please remember, try to learn how to capture audio and video in a manner where the editing process only adds to the “already great” content(effects, etc).
This channel has many fantastic examples of how to accomplish this. 👍🏻
Yes! I always tell people the first thing you need two do is learn to cut between two moments that didn't happen at the exact same time and yet it flows in the video in a way that makes sense. And that may just be cutting from talking about your recipe to the results of your recipe or a series of well chosen cuts getting dressed in the morning. Something simple and building from there.
Totally agree
Great f'n video man... clear and concise!!!
This is priceless training. Well done!
@9:14 how do we recreate that zoom in to the map? Is it an effect from the pack you got or can it be done without this? I’m a complete newbie so apologies if this is a very basic question. Is it done via an effect or keyframe?
I was wondering this, too.
Thanks Jeven for sharing this! This makes me excited to edit with these!
Man there is alot for me to learn I see. Thanks for putting this together cause I Jhus started out my channel but I take ages to make videos. I spend over 120hours to come up with one vid
This is fantastic. I also want to do some documentary films but know nothing about editing. This is a real eye opener although way beyond me at this point. What would be your suggestion on where to start?
What software do you edit video with?
Where did you get the maps? And thanks, btw!
Thank you for uploading this video! It’s very comprehensible.😀
Oh man! This is soooo true; less time spending on cutting content together. Love this.
Thanks for sharing. I NEED to get my budget together to afford this ... sooo much wasted time these days.
Thanks again!
Great video, though you leave me with one question: Why are you working on a tiny laptop instead of the big multimonitor setup just over your shoulder?
Because I’m making a video for you. This part of my office is better to film in.
Very cool, great work! I'm anxious to move over to Final Cut Pro from iMovie. Can't happen soon enough, and I'm looking forward to getting over that learning curve.
Your passion shines through, Jeven. Nicely done!
yes it works brother ! many thanks
THIS WAS AWESOME! ❤
How do you get good like that sound without wearing an obvious mic? I have a RØDE GO and have learned a bit and have gotten better using it, but I can't put it off to the side.
Overhead shotgun mic
If you have another channel, why no link whatsoever to it?... I mean, I've been following your videos here for months and never got to find it.
The channel is linked on my home page and on my channels tab
is the documentary finished and ready to be watched? :)
Video title is misleading. You didn't actually talk about how to make edit faster natively. It only talks about motion vfx plugin..
I use these graphics to edit faster
Hi excuse my dumb question, i am compared to you a novice video editor, i use FCP, these plugins you mentioned, how do they work. Do you take your clips and insert them and it plays in a predetermined way. Thanx
Is your voice always taken from your on location mic while filming, or do you have to do voice overs in the studio?
We need more tutorials from you 🤗
Nice tips and nice video!
Thanks for helping out.
You mean I shouldn’t spend 3 days key framing things in after effects, cool cool 😅
Dang this a great video of your process. I love it.
What free editing software do you recommend for iPhone? iMovie? Do you have a vlog on how to edit?
Hi Jeven, your other channel sounds like something I'd be into also, what's it's name??
Here's the channel: ua-cam.com/channels/Iy8QgsVS2QHrYBwEOOtArQ.html
So where is the link to the completed video you were working on?
Great advice!
Thanks for sharing this video. That's great.
This is great - very inspiring.
thank you so much for this
Are the maps copy protected?
Do these graphics work with LumaFusion or is there a good place to find things that will work? I’m getting a little more comfortable shooting drone footage but my editing skills are very basic.
what were you editing the video with?
I have been making UA-cam videos since 2009 and I appear to have been written out of the algorithm completely and get under 100 views on videos about any topic. The reason is probably that I do not and never have made videos on the same topic over and over on a regular schedule and I talk about whatever I feel like talking about, film whatever I feel like filming, and sing my own songs or cover songs or whatever I wanna sing, all on one channel. The reason this guy Jeven is making the same videos about how to make videos on this channel every day while posting his history videos on another channel is because creators get trapped by UA-cam's algorithm. If a UA-camr who makes daily videos tasting fruit dares visit a volcano and make videos about that, it totally messes up his channel's views for months, for example. Some of you may know who I am speaking of... I suggest finding videos with low view counts and sharing them, especially ones made by UA-camrs who refuse to be trapped in a box and post videos on a variety of topics, and ones who are not monetized.
Great content as always. Motion vfx is a top quality plug in although every time I use them they really slow down my computer and I have a pretty new macbook pro so can't figure it out but don't have the same issue with other plug ins.
Is same pack available for Premiere Pro?
Why don't you nest your sequences so you don't have so many layers to deal with on your final sequence?
Thank you so much for this tips sir
ehh so this isn't so much about technique like the title implies so much as it is a selling video on this motion packs.
which is fine. the motion packs look interesting and useful and using them really could give you a strong bump in production for a low bu mp in effort.
I enjoy your content. That being said you've done so many videos with them being a sponsor why don't you have a discount code for your channel?
I am a total newb to editing. What is the best editing software for someone like me?
This is usefull video thanks dud ✌🏻☺
Unfortunately, Motion VFX doesn't have much for non-Final Cut Pro/Apple users. After looking, pretty much 0% of your templates are available for Premiere Pro.
Final Cut Pro's companion product Motion has allowed motion graphics designers to make great templates for over a decade now. The same functionality with Premiere/After Effects (MOGRTs) just hasn't been available nearly as long, and is much slower too.
Do these work with Adobe Premier Pro?
Is this applicable for anime stuff tho
Hi after watch this I am good using adobe Pro,,,, but thanks using Mac is very useful
Great information
Glad I clicked on here...picked up some more knowledge.
Thank you so much
This was great help.
I need your help in this way
"A man who can do what he loves, and get paid for it, is the luckiest of all." 😁👌
Does this work on LumaFusion on iPad Pro?
I enjoy editing.
Thank you very much ;)👍🏻
So inspiring! Thank you!!
Asslamo alikum
Are you from pakistsn
Thank for new video.
Hi, thank you for your wonderful tutorial. May I ask: How did you get the „empty and grey“ A-roll which you are using to arrange your scenes?
Option or control W. I can’t remember on my phone
@@ThatMakesSenseToMe Thank you!
These are called "gap clips", by the way. ⌥W to insert one.
Question for anyone that would like to answer...
What is the best and easiest to use video editing program?
very useful tutorial
Thanks
terima kasih banyak kakak.pekerjaan anda sungguh sangar menyenankan sekali.
Can you explain what you mean by A & B roll , I'm new at this . thank
A roll is your 'primary' role. It's usually the baseline of your video. What this is will change depending on what your video is. The A roll in this video is Jeven talking. B roll is 'secondary roll'. Mostly use as a story enhancement in some way. Every time he cut away from himself at the desk to a map or example of the video process he is talking about or showed what he did in a previously recorded video or basically anything him not talking at the desk while we are looking at his face, it's B roll.
In the past, A roll and B roll were more common in news programs where you saw a newscaster talking about a story (A roll) while cutting to images of the story (B roll). Or commercials where someone might be talking about a product (A roll) while cutting to people using it (B roll) or close ups of the product (also B roll). In narrative stories, like movie and TV shows it's less of a thing. But in anything documentary style, it keeps you from just watching a talking head and enhancing the story telling with activity and detail.
Thanks!
mulitple editors would help but useful content.
Thank You. Editing is where I bottleneck in my content creation workflow. I do believe ALL THE MAGIC happens in editing. I am a beginner and enjoy everything about editing. If you find the time.... come check out a recent video with cool sound design "MANY CHAIRS" Cheers from Western Australia
Excelente
Where can we see 'Dark history of murphy ranch'?
You can watch it here ua-cam.com/video/15PYAcYyvI4/v-deo.html
Hello everyone, what is your experience about Sony A7IV overheating? I would be very happy for your experience. Many greetings
"In this video I'll break down how I edit faster by using pre-built motion graphics" translation: in this video I'm going to sell you some motion graphics pack as necessary
:) thanks!
