I love how supportive Korone is when Botan starts beating her, being happy for her skill rather instead of worrying about losing
Honestly, it makes for a more fun match. I personally have the most fun when a match is close rather than when I'm just dominating an opponent, a near victory over a perfect fight (though Korone's perfects are really damn impressive). And the other side, I also have fun when I get dominated but slowly start to chip off more and more health as I get use to patterns, timing, spacing, etc.
@@nekopunchi9793 I agree, a close match is better than cub stomping an inexperienced opponent. Unfortunately most people online seem to disagree, since they love ganging up on new players and smurfing.
@@nai3346
I wouldn't say most but definitely a sad amount. It's the main reason why games started making tiers and make it so you hardly ever see someone outside your tier.
@@nai3346 Bullies and Immature Gamers like winning without risk, so go out of their way to look for lopsided victories to bulk up their frail egos. Mature gamers like you and others appreciate an earned win and derive no joy in lopsided victories. Unfortunately some immature gamers never become mature gamers and the same goes for people in real life as well. 😲
The good old "Super strong rivals complimenting each other during their match" cliche, if things go smoothly they should be the two finalists laughing and complimenting each other once they show off their full power then end the match in a time limit draw
Botan: *wins a round*
Korone: Time to stop playing around.
Jazz music stopped
"It's Yubi Yubi Time"
*evil doggo laugh* 😈
More like a round

Dope matches. I just can't get over Capcom ability to continue the flow of battle but experience different stages from their perspective 👏🏾😲✨️
Lol yeah I'm mostly a Tekken guy and it's the first time I've seen this. Pretty cool!
I think it's easy to implement in SF since everything renders at client side anyways so all the server needs is player data.
I wanna see this for Tekken, but it probably wouldn't work since each stage has their own unique gimmicks now
@@w21aaaaa
Facts!! I want to see this technology not only in Tekken but in all future fighting games from now on.
@@w21aaaaa brother have you _played_ tekken? The stages don't work like that
@@uhoh7545 He's talking about Tekken 8, not Tekken 7. In T8, stages have interactable parts, from what I've seen in trailers.
@@Shendue ...? Tekken 7 had balconies and walls that you can destroy too.
Unless they coded that differently, everything could still work p2p wise.
Pray for rollback and not the bamco lobbies again.
Beginning to think Korone has a ton of natural talent for fighting games.
When you box irl somethings spill over I guess. She understands the concept of spacing
She practiced a lot, like A LOT.
@@johnsonyuwu131and great coaches too
She cry (happy) after beating cpu zangif lvl 8. Before she can't beat it and now just one game she finally did. 😭.
She actually played Street Fighter 5 a few months prior to SF6's release. She has way more experience
Some context botan is a complete beginner but she uses modern controls combos and chaining easier. Shes also using a new player friendly fighter in marissa.
Korone started playing only from SF5 onwards so still a beginner but less than Botan shes using classic controls with an arcade stick and is using JP which is harder for beginners to fight against but 3 days ago she literally doesnt use block at all.
Tldr its a fun matchup and just enjoy it
Other context: you can’t win against JP if you don’t know the match up very well.
Honestly with the way korone plays jp with classic controls while using a stick
I wouldnt call korone a beginner nor intermediate
I think shes in between those 2 things
Her learning speed is great
@@awesomereviews1561 Yeah I was going to say dude seems like he plays very differently than most street fighter characters. got a projectile grab?? like what??
Based on Korone's practice games and I haven't played SF6. JP really does look like a character that ain't beginner friendly.
@@wyethleon It's definitely not beginner friendly... for the opponent side.
Botan's gotten really good given that she picked up the series for the first time like a month ago. Keep in mind that fighting games is way outside her comfort zone too, so even though Korone's been shining bright for this tournament we can't forget how much Botan's grown here as well.
Its pretty sweet how supportive Korone is in this clip even as Not an is dishing out some damage she's like nice Bogan and she even praises her after the match
Due to enter rush schedule, botan miss two days training.
If you check botan's stream, the others kept praising korosan and saying that korosan even using classic on jp, and play like jp only player.
I am a koronesuki- so this really make me feel proud.
Thank you for the video👍
You really saw the moment when Koro realized that she was significantly stronger when she started congratulating Botan without sounding worried or even troubled at all.
truly the nihongo jouzu of the FGC
Man I'm loving all these fighting game content that's been coming out since SF6 release
Korone is legit using JP's counter and set-up tools and even comboing off them, fuck that's better than even I can play lmfao
she does airthrows on reaction, and sometimes out of a teleport too, expecting the opponent to guard, thinking she will do a jump in attack, that's not "normal people" skill level
She plays JP better than I do lol
I don’t know her age, but her reaction times are pretty good. I’m not sure I could hit the reactions she does and I’m only 28, my reaction time shouldn’t have deteriorated too much.
@@Necroskull388well rumors has it that she's middle aged... Have heard and read a lot that the Okakoro pair has been in the online streaming scene in JP for a time already... But take this with a grain of salt since I am not really privy or into finding out their PL...
Korone vs Botan has such world tournament saga vibes to it and I'd love to see it in an anime 😂
great idea, can already imagine it
Botan and Korone having that kind of exchange when it's you and an equally-skilled friend sparring in an actual arcade cabinet. Love it!
Botan: Gets Perfected --> Taunts
😅
slick editing. super hype for tourney day!
I’m proud of Botan it’s her first fighting game and even if it’s hard she’s laughing and have a lot of fun in training.
But damn koro San JP is scary, kazunoko is doing a good job with her
in case anyone was wondering, in SF6 level backgrounds and music are clientside. you can always pick the stage and music you want on your screen, the opponent has their selection on theirs.
Pretty great matches! also, i had no idea that the stage can be different for each player.... that really cool.
The transitions in perspective were really good on this!
Korone’s JP is freakin Ruthless, I liked how she immediately tightened up after Botan took a round. Good set all around
Korone finished the first round playing keep away, then immediately goes in on the start of the second round. She's gonna be a scary opponent.
proud of both the girls! excited for the match tomorrow
2:04 cheering her kouhai on as ahe's gettinf beaten? Korone, you goddamn gem
Thanks for translating.
Literally cannot blame Botan at all for getting wreck by Korone, because Daigo team had the same problem
All of the Leader think that teaching their fighter against that cheese attack is enough to beat JP but if you guys actually look closer, the spike have a variations on where its spawned and that's literally FK them up
They didn't expect a bronze JP to actually use setup/warp, the counter (idk what that call at 1:58), actually doing anti air and the biggest problem those spike placement
I have no idea about fighting game but I am so glad that Hololive is getting into them more so we can expand the lore and learn fun new things
Yeah it's a counter reversal basically but also works on grabs so you have to wait a bit. JP just kinda forces you to be patient because each of his zoning tools cover each other.
when Korone teleported into throw a couple times I was amazed
she has a tutor that's both very good at instruction, and has fixed her beginner mental block of waiting for a hit confirm in order to chain the next move.
the few milliseconds of waiting to see that you did a move correctly (waiting to see if it landed or missed) is the difference between successfully chaining hits, and dropping something. and boy does korone just go on autopilot with some of her inputs. she is consistently doing grabs out of teleport.
it's not even accurate to call her a beginner anymore, it's nuts.
Did Botan do an accidental taunt at the end? If so, that's hilarious.
yea she's panicked so accidentally pushed taunt
I wonder if Koefficient has seen any of this? He’d be really proud of Korone and how far she’s come.
surprisingly he haven't made any video on it yet, Majin Obama did tho, which is even more surprising
@@tedjomuljono3052 Jiyuna also made one.
The taunt at the end LOL
With Korone’s ability to dump time into what she likes, she’d be a fighting game monster if she sticks with it long enough
Whoooaaaaa I didn't know the battle maps were different based on the person, I thought both parties had the same map. Thats dope
watching korone's scrims is insane you can tell how fast she's improving. eager to see how far she will go
Oh wow bo tan have not been slacking both of them are really practicing very hard for this tournament I hope to see them playing against each other even after the tournament 😮😮
i really love this training arc
proud doggo seeing her little sister so strong
that "Korosan~" in the beginning ❤
I had it clipped and will use it as an alarm
Pretty much Korone learn so much, she is improved,
i appreciate the matching cuts
You know... when Korone talks about doing boxing irl, this is how I visualize her going into a match with any Holo member that want to spar with her.
Korone is my oshi but I have to inform someone who don't know.
Botan was first play Street Fighter in this 6, so that's why Korone kinda impressed for her move.
ps. She actually doesn't play fighting games that much.
I'm surprised Botan was able to take a round off Korone. With the gokisei live in 2 weeks she doesn't have many opportunities to practice.
If yall watch korone streams (sf6) she literally grind in practice with jp.. and she's hella good too
this such a good arc even though I know nothing about Street Fighter
I also know nothing, but watching Korone from literal panick attack go brr to actually doing anti air attack is crazy, the coaching session is also help because her coach is really make it simple, like really simple
And man the joy of her team when watching her 1st scrims (not this one, this is her 3rd), Win and just said "Tadaimaaaa" legit make me cry 😂
Lol botan hit the taunt button at the end
Is Korone playing point? Is she the first one the other teams have to fight before going to the more experienced players?
Because if so then Matsuri damn, she’s a hell of a guard dog
yep she is point
@@michaelmcgee8189 Matsuri damn
@@glimn4839 Karubi (her team's second?) even said something along those lines after playing against her lol. "She's our point!?"
How does the teams work for this tournament? Is it gonna be like Team A-1 vs Team B-1,2,3,4,5 until A-1 loses? Then A-2 picks up where A-1 lost? Or is A-2 gonna start again from B-1 up to B-5? Idk that's just how I'm assuming the point-anchor team works, since they're arranged from weakest to the strongest players?
@@dardardarnerfrom what i understand it's round robin and the team with the most wins err... Win
What the.. this game lets each player to have their stage of choice?! Don't think I've ever seen that in a fighter before.
idk much about fighting game, but from watching both botan and korones pov i can tell that korone team is more 'beginner friendly'..the atmosphere feels light n warmth...and the way they teach korone is so much easy to understand even for me..dont get me wrong they are top player but that doesnt mean they're all good teacher...good luck to both tomorrow
Korone was easier to teach because she has more experience on the basics PLUS she uses classic controls
the other trainees including Botan are using Modern and most of the pro players barely touch Modern at all/are not accustomed to it too, so the lessons might not sync well
@@tedjomuljono3052 it doesn't matter because they are only teaching them fundamentals but korone is already at the point where he can combo even with super arts
@@tedjomuljono3052 Makes me wish Tokido was invited to be one of the FGC mentors since he uses Modern Luke.
@@D3Vlicious I was just thinking he'd be a good choice too.
I definitely felt that, watching both their streams during the training arc. Probably helps a bit that Karubi is on her team as they were both screaming their lungs out from the start having fun as they are at a similar skill level. Dogura is helping Botan a lot and really wants her to get a win but toes the line between giving her as much information as he can and trying to not overwhelm her. Botan's team also has a huge gap in experience with Daruma is god hitting masters yesterday.
Nice edits
considering botan does not have enough time to train and is a beginner can be very pressuring and stressful in a competition but she's calm, having fun and really learned and improved fast in fighting games in just few days. What more if she really get in to fighting games and really do a serious grind 😮
lmaoooo i'm pretty sure Botan hit the taunt button by accident there at the end, that's why her character didn't do anything except look smug in that moment
How come the voice call was audible on Botan's stream? did she just deafen herself, and allowed the audio to be streamed?
if they keep training and with the help of their team I wouldn't be surprised if we see them in next year's EVO since SFVI will be here for a long time.
Woooooo
Two players with different stages?!
Didn't knew this was possible
In SF6 each player online can pick their own stage and they'll see what they picked.
Botan is really good at close combat, meanwhile Korone has great skills when it comes to distance attacks.
Possible that is has something to do with the char's skill set. I'm not a fighting game expert ^^.
Both of them did a great job :D
yeah, JP is pretty strong from a distance as one of the coaches has said. and Korone is using her superbly well
I've noticed that korone tends to have trouble when it's a close combat, especially when she's literally backed to a corner
Unfortunately the physical fighters have some difficulty to fight against fireballs characters even for pro players, but JP its too strong in general in this game...
I think he is the worst opponent to fight after Abigail in SFV lol
Korone's character, JP, is one of the game's dedicated projectile zoners. He's kind of unorthodox compared to the other major projectile zoner, Guile. Guile is pretty simple, he has a really good projectile (Sonic Boom) that has very little recovery, and with a pretty large degree of speeds (he can do a slow Boom that allows him to advance behind it which is really good at controlling space, fast ones to cut off movement etc), he has a static projectile that sits in place till he activates it again for an upgraded projectile, and he has flash kick, which hits on a very wide arc above his head to stop people from jumping at him. Simply put he has moves that very effectively allow him to control both horizontal *and* vertical space at very little risk to himself.
Meanwhile, JP is kind of weird. He has 3 main forms of projectile. He has the ghosts he sends out, the spikes he can shoot from the ground, and the cracks he can make appear in the air, and each is actually pretty specific in application, but unlike most projectile zoners, he can actually have multiple projectiles on screen at once. Guile can't have more than one sonic boom on screen at a time (unless he activates his level 2 super which lets him do so for a brief period), Ryu can't have more than one hadouken on screen etc. And this rule still partially applies to JP, he can't have more than one ghost on screen at a time, but he can mix and match these so they're on the screen at the same time. He can have a spike and a ghost on screen at the same time for example. Also his projectiles are strong in that he has 3 different versions of them. For other characters with a projectile the "strength of the move". A special move usually has different strengths depending on which button you pressed to activate it. So for example, Ryu's fireball 'Hadouken' changes depending on if you executed the move with light, medium, or heavy punch. Usually changing to be slower/faster, and having slightly different damage values. However, for JP it changes so that he gets 3 different versions of the projectile, one that needs to be blocked while standing, one that needs to be blocked while crouching, and one that's a throw and cannot be blocked, meaning it must be jumped. Which means you have to be extra careful of JPs projectiles because you'll get hit if you block incorrectly. And his reward off of a hit is pretty big because he can combo off of the ghosts into spike.
Yeah JP have comfortable zone at range
as she have not a good time with YY's Blancka (Team D)
That kick on the whiff at 1:10 looked so damn disrespectful
“Ok ok.”
Man you can tell Korone is really getting good she fucking picked training stage lmao
**Botan wins a round**
Korone (the kickboxer): Ah, I see I can let loose, then.
Even though she uses JP which I've seen some say is easy mode against less experienced players, Korone has really good SF instincts. She also has an excellent work ethic & her training has been high quality. I honestly believe with enough time she could develop herself to compete in pro SF. That said her Hololive responsibilities might not allow time for it though it could be a unique niche for her to fill within Hololive.
Would love to see her give other fighting games a try too. Maybe something a bit more complex & in depth like VF though it can be intimidating for some.
That would be great, but historically there are rarely any women among the pro players
IIRC, Korone used Bison in V, I guess she just has a thing for psycho power.
@@RichRayEML the dark korone
She just needs defense training and learning some advanced techniques like drive impact OS, parry OS and escaping offense.
Hopefully Kazunoko can teach her some....though considering it's Kazunoko...
Fighting games/community is too niche imo. There’s a reason most vtuber gamers are variety streamers. Their audience wants to see them play all kinds of games. Even Botan stopped streaming FPS games for the most part and just plays them in her free/off time
just noticed people can have different stages while playing a match. is that new?
I love you we can have different stage for different players
Korone is so nice, you can see she gave her a round and then let her get a free hit on the last round to not double perfect her at the end.
I feel like more so korone dosent initiate hard combo at the start she seems to like to play defensively seeing her training she tend to let her opponent go first then go from there prolly just me for what i notice thou.
Korone: Round start raw drive rush low.
She has the tech
I feel that Korone has been watching Brian_F videos...
Credit for ending animation please
i thinki koro san is on a entirely different level now.
The Dog has beaten the lion!!!!
>korone using training stage as the default
the match was decided before it even began
Classic example of Zoner vs close range heavy hitting characters. Can’t do much damage if you get zoned to death. Ofc if Botan knew the matchup it would help but I guess it’s the same throughout all FGs
It's the gap of skill/game knowledge rather than the matchup in itself. Marisa has actually a great set of tools to deal with the matchup better outside the universal mechanics (including a one-hit parry you can use while being burned out, and a couple armored moves), but Korone has more experience and has had matches against other Modern Marisas (on her team there's another vtuber, Karubi, who also has the same character)
Street fighter 6 overall design puts me off and I can’t tell why, is it uncanny valley?
yoooo, how come from two different perspective the stages are different? is that a new thing?
Yes, that's a new feature in SF6.
The second i saw JP vs marisa and loosely knowing both of their skill levels, yea it was gonna be a one sided wash
honestly i'm more interested with tekken content than street fighter, if what CR doing can brought a lot casual viewer from this japanese streamers to try sf6 then i hope they can do similar event with tekken 8
You know Korone is a pro since she's using Training stage.
Glad korone feeling more confident in her combos
Huh, never knew stages were different for players. I thought I was being an ass to have it in Training Stage all the time.
Korone after perfect KO : Oggey Oggey
I could point obvious fighting things but I have to ask: why Botan and Korone's stage are different?
You can choose what stage you see on your end by default
Man it’s hard to play Marisa well w her limited reach and range. It’s no wonder Botan switched to Lily and was able to grind to Master rank w her
Anyone with experience in fighting games ,whats the benefit of using the classic controls?
I have played mortal kombat , tekken and soul calibur when I was a kid (also sf and kof in the clasic arcade machines but never got the hang of it so I mostly played metal slug in the arcade) but just casual with any controller depending the console but I would like to try to get good in one game cause this looks very fun lol.
A lot of characters lose some really good moves in Modern and there's a 20% damage reduction on everything. Luke is a character that doesn't care about the disadvantages of Modern. He does enough damage and he doesn't lose any must-have moves. Dhalsim is a character that needs to be classic. He's dependent on having every move and having multiple different strengths of his specials on top of having piddly damage on anything practical compared to the rest of the cast.
I'll just give you a run down for benefits and cons for Classic vs Modern in SF6
> Classic = enables you have accessibility to a character's moves, opening to a lot of combo variety, utility potential and playstyle variation, perfect for veteran players and those who are ready to dedicate to the game. All you need is to put in the time in timings and familiarize the character
> Modern = easy inputs without having the need to perform motion inputs and pressing buttons, perfect for casuals and beginners but if you know what you're doing you may climb the ladders. You are restricted to some of your character's moves and the damage output is slightly reduced. However there are some characters who benefits this like Zangief, check his inputs and you'll see why
@@Romancesymphony Slight correction, the 20% damage reduction only applies to easy-input specials. You can still do classic command inputs in modern and those don't suffer damage reduction.
Note tho that some characters can't do every special moves with command in Modern, since there is no distinction on "punch" or "kick" in modern, just light, medium, and heavy "attacks" with a "Special" button, which lock you out of specials with overlapping inputs.
For example, Ken in classic has Hadoken (QCF+Punch) and Jinrai Kick (QCF+Kick), but in modern, QCF+"Attack" gives you the Jinrai Kick and he can't do Hadoken with command input, only with pushing the "Special" button. Meaning Modern Ken's hadoken will always have damage reduction, and he can't mix up the projectile speed.
Can anyone tell me when that tournament is going to be?
tomorrow (25th june) 6pm jst, let cheer for everyone!
@@karmunlee8772 Thank you!
@@karmunlee8772 Do you know where the main stream for the tourney will be?
About as I expected it to go... Except taunt.
Korone still has issues with aggressive playstyles. But when she gets momentum at mid - full screen, nobody is probably gonna beat her. Keep in mind, even pros have a tough time dealing with mid - full screen JP.
Botan probably planning a Warzone collab against korone for rematch LOL jks asaide korone is pretty good at SF now
I respect them both for putting in the time to improve. I get that they "have to" practice when they have the pros teaching them 1v1 but to actually practice and to just be there are 2 different things. I hope they both stick with it but regardless it's fun to watch
Doggo Spammo
Botan may be one of the best Gamers in hololive, but Korone is showing why she’s a HoloGamer (though Botan is a honorary member imo)
its a long vs short range combat.. as long as botan cant get near korone
Them
Botan may be the Apex Predator of FPS, but when it comes to fighting games, it's hard to beat the Boxer Doggo!
so Korone is the zoning type.
koro practice alot with her main character until she got so strong haha
At this point Korone is the unbeatable member of hololive in SF.
Regardless how she was trashed by Korone, Botan managed to get one round win.
Still, Korone has improved quite a lot with her traps and long range attacks
Honestly, a round against a decent JP at their level is quite an accomplishment. He's the worst character to face until you're at least Diamond level. He just kinda crushes you unless you have the matchup memorized.
I had a strong feeling that Korone would win. She's been very serious about this and her team have been very supportive of her. Seeing her play with Vega/Bison in the previous game, it was obvious that she loves the series. I think the iconic lore and goofy looking characters are just up her alley.
She was sad that Bison wasn't in the game, but she found another evil ojisan to replace him.
What's the most impressive to me is how well she can execute on a fighting stick. It's clear that she have a fair amount of experience with it. Fubuki also seemed comfortable with the stick on her Idol Showdown streams, so the story about them and Okayu meeting at an arcade checks out.
If Hololive have a tournament in Idol Showdown, Aki seems to have a lot of similarities to JP, so Korone should be able to translate a lot of what she have learned here to Aki.
Kanae has been grinding a lot with his Cammy I don't think that korone is the only one you should be looking out for
Maybe cause in Japan arcades are still somewhat relevant? Even if not playing a fighting game, some experience on arcade stick control games probably helps to familiarize yourself to use them a bit maybe?
@@TotemoGaijin they aren't newsflash most arcades are going out of business since consoles became popular
@@happyman8231 All of them except holomem (might sound harsh) are grinding the shit of this game...I mean you can't blame em after all they are ACTUALLY busy with idol things, as much as it sounds like excuses...now the interesting part is why tf Korone is actually able to normally just keep up with them
@@happyman8231 Here's a newsflash. When Korone would have been growing up, they were absolutely still doing pretty well compared to the west where they all died off much much earlier. Even back when I was last there in the early teens they were still reasonably full of people.
W for mr korone
Huh, I didn't know online players can play on different stages.
It’s a new feature in SF6. Pretty much to escape the “always training mode” syndrome.
@@rockybirdy1529 To be fair, the "always training mode" thing was also because SFV's netcode was awful, and some stages were either too cluttered or an eyesore (THE PLANE STAGE).
@@elneco4654 It wasn't the netcode. It's because PS4 could barely run the game and would get frame drops on like half the stages.
Wait, they can use different background stage? Isn't that kinda gives advantage especially for a zoner like JP to use the training stage?
How? What kind of advantage?
@@neon-lake the stage Korone used is the training stage, where the floor and wall have square pattern. The line also has multiple tiny lines like a ruler. This helps the player to judge the distance based on the square/line. If this is FPS, think of it like playing with vs without crosshair. Of course, not to downplay Korone's win, but this is the first time I see this kind of feature in a fighting game. Plus I think the opponent can choose it as their stage too, but Botan might not know this feature since she's new.
No that's not really going to affect anything, its not like training room will space your attacks for u. Certainly not an advantage to zoners any more than anyone else. U dont need training room to tell the difference between mid distance and long distance
If anything characters that rely on good buttons in neutral like Manon, Chun-Li or Juri benefit way more. Even then you could argue a slow buttons grappler like Gief and pretty much anyone for that matter is better off.
@@neon-lake but it's still give an advantage, no? Zoner or not. Which is why I think it's weird that they can choose what stage they want to use individually.
@@Zero5cythe Not really. If you play a certain amount of hours in SF6, you wouldn't be looking at the floor/background anymore. You'll instinctively know the range of the attacks and the game being face-paced, I bet Korone doesn't have the time to be gauging the attacks.
Korone should play more ranked, how she's playing is definitely not just Bronze level.
