Just a tip and my own opinion this changed the game for me. When you push Dow on your a bar to see how far your needles are out pass the tube. For shading about 1.3 to 1.5 mm out and for solid fill just a hair longer like 1.8 mm out when your machines running. Get a good stretch where you can feel with your tension the needles hitting the skin. Apply more pressure for more saturation and less for less saturation. Hope this helps good luck. And Johnny gault gives information on this if you need. Its litterly the tips of the needles

I would think far less skin trauma with a 27 mag

Far less ink left, after bigger groups. Big mags are good for smooth shading
