To all the trolls complaining about this guy demonstrating an exploit, wake up and understand that this is how it works. Many criminals already know these things. Security professionals constantly release exploits like these at defcon and other areas to raise awareness of how insecure your "security" is and to help people recognize and improve basic issues. This guy didn't create the security issue, he just demonstrated it. Stop villainizing him for it.
Not to mention, what happens when someone latches that door and then accidentally knocks themselves unconscious somehow? Or has a heart attack? Etc? Hotel staff can open the door with a keycard for first responders, but you still have to contend with the latch.
