Philippos Kasotis Thanks. I knew something was wrong with calling it Tropicana. Trocadero was the place. With mirrors on both sides of the walls and those two or three steps going across near in front of the stage. Slayer 'A Week In The Abyss' 7 date tour before releasing Seasons In The Abyss was at there late 1990. The kids tore the plumbing out of the bathroom upstairs and the balcony flooded over. The show ended with Slayer playing Raining Blood as everyone was told to leave and not drink the water coming down. The Trocadero was closed for remodeling because of all the damage. The metal years ended after that and went to Green Day, Nirvana, Soundgarden etc...

It's a Trey solo album if we were ever going to get one. A lot of people wrote the band off a little bit after Vincent left and Trey was out to prove a point I think. Those shows from 98 to the early 2000's with Tucker on vocals were insane. They were untouchable
Altars has to be #1 but Blessed is a close 2nd. Saw Morbid at the Marquee in '91. Best death metal show I ever saw. Cancer and Entombed opened. Was intense and violent. David Vincent was looking right at my crew. It was in September so it was like the culmination of a wild and violent summer. We lived for metal, beer, and girls. Anyone in the NY scene back then will understand. We were truly Sworn to the Black!

Everyone here who has listed it in their top 3 has given that album the proper attention, because it was Trey's second wind.
I agree, I love that entire album front to back, pure magic. I even love the instrumental synth tracks
Awesome emperor shirt

Ranking the Studio Albums: Emperor?
Such a wide swing in quality. I never listen to my bottom 4, with my top 2 being "classics" IMO.
9) Illud Divinum Insanus (Easily at the bottom. Also, the Latin is incorrect.)
8) Heretic
7) Domination
6) Gateways to Annihilation
5) Blessed Are the Sick
4) Kingdoms Disdained (Nice return to form!)
3) Formulas Fatal to the Flesh
2) Covenant
1) Altars of Madness
Check out David Vincent's newer band Vltimas! Their album from last year is almost as good as the best Morbid Angel stuff.
Thanks, Pete!
Vltimas is pretty good, Blasphemer is doing the guitar work and he can do no wrong. Even Vincent's vocals are a lot better than I've heard him sound during MA's live shows.
1) Altars
1.5) Juvenilia
2) Blessed
3) Covenant
3.5) Entangled in Chaos
4) Formulas
5) Gateways
6) Domination
7) Heretic
8) Kingdoms Disdained
9) Illud Divinum Insanus
Formulas Fatal to the Flesh is the greatest album of all time
I'm shocked you ranked "Domination" and "Heretic" above Formulas. Formulas is easily one of their best imo. How I would rank them:
1. Covenant
2. Blessed Are The Sick
3. Formulas Fatal To The Flesh
4. Altars Of Madness
5. Gateways To Annihilation
6. Heretic
7. Domination
8. Kingdoms Disdained
9. Illud Divinum Insanus
I disagree I think heretic is better than both of those albums.
Here is my ranking of Morbid Angel's albums;

2. Formulas Fatal To The Flesh
3. Covenant
4. Abominations of Desolation
5. Blessed Are The Sick
6. Gateways To Annihilation
7. Kingdoms Disdained
8. Heretic
9. Domination
10. Illud Divinum Insanus

2. Altars of Madness
3. Covenant

6. Kingdom of Disdained

8. Gateways to Annihilation
Great list, but Abominations Of Desolation deserves way more praise IMO. Those Mike Browning vocals are EVIL
I have the Incubus demo, that thing is out of this world!!!! Engulfed in unspeakable horror is such a crazy song
