You saved me a lot of time, thanks a lot. My problem was related to upsampling on exporting from 41.1 to 48 K, it was still streching on import back. I just had to change project sampling rate to 48 K and export without upsampling...
This is fabulously helpful, and efficiently communicated. Thank you. I have subscribed as a result. I've been handed individual audio flies for a remix project but timings aren't the same as the orginal files as I'm comparing. Do you use "details" on file information to get bitrate and thence calculate samplerate?
Hey, thanks for subscribing! So the bit rate and sample rate are basically unrelated. You can have 48khz sample rate and 8 bits, or 32 bits in 44.2khz, or any iteration between. You can resample but you cant really improve a bit rate, you're sorta just stuck with it. But! You can have all sorts of bit rates playing together with no problems in playback. Does that make sense?
Hi Liam. QUESTION I apply tempo sync options to audio samples in Media Bay. But the samples are double the speed of my project. Do you know how to correct this issue please? My search for content relating to this issue is thus far drawing a blank.
Hi Ryan! I'm not certain, but this might be a sample rate issue. Take a look at this video and let me know how you get on :) ua-cam.com/video/Dlfme63ep8o/v-deo.html
This helped my issue, but I'm confused how my tracks got to the situation that they did. I recently recorded a 3 song performance and exported each song as its own project. The audio interface was set to 48000, and I thought my project was set the same. My new projects I created were set to 48000, but I no longer have access to the originals. The vocals sounded pitched down on the first 2 songs. When I did the resample, it showed that they were being resampled from 48000 to 44100, and then everything sounded in tune again. The third song's new project already sounded correct. When I went through the resample process, it showed it was changing from 44100 to 44100 with 0% difference. All 3 projects still have the sample rate set to 48 kHz, so I don't know why the resample target was set to 44100 to begin with or why resampling from 4800 to 44100 was necessary for the first two songs. All I know is that resampling corrected the issue for the first 2 songs, and this video got me the results I needed.
@@LTGuitaristThank you. I installed several VSTs today, and once my program crashed completely, so that when I want to export my work, only 12,000 kHz, 11,000 and 16,000 are shown in the sample section. This problem is only for mp3. And there was no problem to export the wave
this video is golden, thankyou sir! What do you do if things are at the same sample rate but not bits. I have some stuff in 24 and some 32! How could this have happened, and is it a problem?
Hey Kilian, good question! As far as I know, Bitrate is to do with the overall quality of audio - so working on a 24bit sample in a 32bit environment is basically fine - especially if it's one sample in a batch of others, it won't be noticable. But if, for example, you're editing a 24bit piece of audio and you're going to export it at 24bit too, you probably want to work in 24bit as well. Not sure why, just seems like good practice to me! Hope that helps and thanks for commenting!
@@LTGuitarist wow thank-you so much for the response. That's useful information, I will try monitor more closely what bit rate im using so i can keep it consisent. Thanks again
I know this is a while ago but I have a slightly different issue. I recorded our band on an Allen Heath QU32 using the USB output in to 20 or so audio channels in Cubase 11 using my laptop. When I routed them back to the mixing board later to check them they played back fine. In fact amazingly so. However, when I got home and pulled them up on Cubase 12 on my home desktop system everything plays back slower and lower by at least a full step. The bit rates seem to match. Any ideas?
Hello, I have a project with samplerate 48000. Vocal and midi same rate. But it countained Audio from Soundly. I wanted to export this project to wavelab I saw this sample rate missmatch and I have converted sample rate of this files in Media Pool. Now my project play faster tempo is the same but you notice that it faster as before is. Wenn I change Samplerate in my Audiointerface Steinberg) from 48000 to 41000( Audio files still 48000) it plays normal .But when I change Audio files to 41000 ( project 41000, Audio files 41000 and Audio interface 41000) it plays again faster! Kann you help me? Kann I solve this Problom with speed change. I mean when tempo for Exemplar 120 is and still plays faster, it is not wright tempo. How kann I Set time?
I do have sample rate of 44,1 in project settings and exporting with 44,1 - pitch thing happen anyway. For example i recorded guitar in E but processed it to D with pitchshifter or whatever. Cubase somehow exporting the guitar in E, in exact version as from pool window, despite the fact that all the processing effects are on and i see in pool window that the sample is recorded in 44,1. WTF
Ohhh that's really weird. Let's see if we can get to the bottom of it. Obvious question, please don't be offended, the pitch effect isn't bypassed and you're exporting the stereo out of the audio rather than the raw guitar sound, right? As a test, could you try adding a reverb effect in addition to the pitch shift, export it the same way, and tell me what happens? Also, what are you using to do the pitch shift? The built in Cubase process?
@@LTGuitarist i'm exporting only guitar track, not stereo out, maybe that's the problem. D tuning is an effect of few different modulators which are obviously activated, but maybe i'm missing something on the way. I will try to export stereo out with all tracks muted besides the guitar. Thanks for the answer, You definitelly guide me on the right path
I recorded a project with audio tracks and midi tracks at 44,100 and then tried to open in a 48,000 work station? the audio tracks converted ok but the midi didn't. how can i fix that?
Hey bud, so the only solution I can think of is this.... MIDI will fit to whatever tempo the project file is set to. So if, for example, you had your original project at 100 bpm and you opened a new project at 48khz sample rate and 120 bpm then the MIDI will be at 120 bpm. If that's the case, the solution is to set the new project to 100 bpm. Let me know if that's it, if not I'll get my thinking cap on!
