Weather related maybe ? I think the pakistani mulberries are more towards warm temperate to subtropical climate than 'regular' mulberries so maybe it's just not warm enough for them in May to hold those fruits ?
I suspected as much Brett but a friend of mine has one in the ground on the same site and his is ripening oodles of berries without any dropping. I'll give them a summer prune and see what happens
Is it possible the plant could have become root bound or have root issues? Some plants do thrive on neglect IF given proper start, which appears to be what you’ve done. Hopefully your fruits ripen sooner
Exactly the same thing happened to my mulberry tree here in Karachi, Pakistan, it dropped all its berries after dense fruiting. My tree is over 20 years old and I’ve noticed that some years this happens while mostly it’s good. But I must confess I don’t give much attention viz a viz fertiliser etc. 🇵🇰❤️🇵🇰
@@irishfruitandberries9059 I don't really know why either, thankfully iv got them in a greenhouse so it shouldn't be a problem ripening main crop, it's about 30 degrees in there at the moment (im in England)
Such a shame they keep dropping like that. I hope you manage to get a few to ripen 🤞

Could be but I recently up potted in to larger pots so I'm not sure.

Good to know. It’s seems to be hanging on to its fruit this year.

I've just purchased one and it came with no berries. I planted it in the ground and will see what happens.
