JohnnyConga, I bought all your albums. I was a young teenager, my friends didn’t like my music but I didn’t care what they thought. When I first heard “Viva Tirado” that did it for me I bought into it immediately!!! Thank you for being a part of my life and songs such as yours are treasures of gold. Up until today, no one has topped the song “Sabor A Mi” (I haven’t heard of her) Love and Peace ~
JC you were in demand in LA in the late 70s and 80s before leaving for Miami! LA's lose, Miami's gain! Appreciate your gigs with LA's Brazilian band..."Boys from Brasil", & its predecessor "Brazz Jazz"
I think El Chicano, Santana, Malo, Tierra, Poncho Sanchez, and all the other Latin Bands. All of these Bands are all a part of American History. Viva La Raza.
Sapo and Azteca from S.F! There was a lot of Chicanos spread around the California and Texas rock scenes too like “Fito” De La Parra from Canned Heat and Bobby Ramirez from “Edgar Winters White trash”.
I’m glad that you mentioned that these groups are part of American Rock history. Even though Latino Rock is in a class all of its own and dispite this Latinos have made their contributions to American Rock music 🎼. Porque Los Latinos tambien son buenos Rokeros y buenos artistas de la musica popular.
This band was before my time. I grew up loving the Chicano MC rapper Kid Frost & his producer Tony G sampled a great deal of this band & thanks to that I became a fan of El Chicano. Love them!
Shows me how we go way back n how talented my people are despite are struggles.. But this rola rite here makes me PROUD TO BE CHICANO.. MI JENTE MI CULTURA .. VIVA LA RAZA!!

Great tune,I was a teenager when this came out, loved it then, love it now! Some of the bands I sang in played this tune and it always took me back to my young days. God bless you all and thank you for sharing such great music with us.🙏🏼❤️
A band that had soul and honesty with a great sound. We bought the cinco album in the early seventies when I was still a small lad and I still listen to those songs and melodies to this very day when I'm feeling a little down. A glass of rum and El Chicano.. Viva El Chicano Viva Mexico ! Down with the US !
I still have my poster of when I went to see El Chicano live in San Jose Spartan Stadium. Malo was there, War and people on imboumbing fluid, some rocket Fluid, angel dust, the famous KJ. People walking around naked. Anyway great memory when I was 15 of youth. A good thing my Dad and Mom didn't know about that wildness, however I had a great time. Salute To Mr. El Chicano
Wow! This is a Gerald Wislon Big Band song but the guitar palyer does a nice Wes Montgomery imitation. Sweet! I never heard of these guys but I'm lovin" it.

Viva Tirado
Love it! We love being a part of the Rock/Latin fusion sound. This is a sound that will grow and expand in time. Bands like El Chicano, Malo, Santana, were the forefathers and we have our own unique East Coast vibe that is quite diverse. Here's to all those great bands and the people that support fusion music of all types! There is really no "pure" music. Everything is influenced by music that came before to a lesser or greater extent. Check us out!
aka "Mad Dad" Yeah Lydia S. Liked this tune when it was first released... liked it in 2019, in 2021 and will beyond. This tune did get quite a bit of airplay here in Southern New England. A favorite at the time.
I watched an interview with the guitar player Mickey lespron who's now about 70 he did say that he listened to West Montgomery before he listened to the Beatles.
Bulevar Descarga (San Diego-Tijuana band) reinterpreted this song under the name, "Musico de la calle"-and it's genius! Now I can't hear this song without hearing the lyrics of Isaac Garcia Urista.
