I’ve never agreed with it being 21. Luckily I have a store near my house that will still sell to me and I’m 20. If you can go to war at 18, then everything should be 18.
This is a bit off topic, but considering that if you're 18 you're considered sensible enough to make your own decisions and considering that pot and other psychedelics are a significantly safer choice than alcohol, perfectly safe from a bad experience so long as you approach them wisely (set and setting), shouldn't cannabis and all psychedelia for that matter, be legalized? Anything less is still just babying society same as the alcohol being 21 thing. The drug war is babying society.

people who are 18 are ultimately old enough to handle alcohol simply not anymore. What I mean by this is when government babies its citizens in a nanny state you'll get the results that were put out. But American society is so susceptible to fear and has been so effectively fear mongered by the propaganda of media, of the school system,vof whatever it is, that they're willing to let the country be run into a nanny state (which the US is a nanny state in a variety of ways). Society has become led into fear mongering to accept any and all authoritarian taking away of rights, the last thing they're going to do is progress forward from there.

If I can weigh the risks out of driving, sky diving, joining the military, sign contracts that I could accidently sign my life away with, I can buy an ar-15, leave the country, get a job, own property, and legally be defined as an adult and be prosecuted like one, then y the f can I not have a beer and y am I considered a minor in one area of the law but an adult in another. I can't even have a cigarette for that matter, it's not a question am I responsible or not because no one is when they drink. It's a question of human rights and my right is to decide what happens to my body and what I put in it. you don't get to decide what people consume when their parents legally can't tell them what their child can do or not do. It's like saying anyone under 21 can't consume candy anymore because they aren't responsible enough to not get fat because of them, adults can't even control themselves eating candy. No one's rights are infringed from drinking unless the user themselves does something stupid and that's their own fault and they should deal with the consequences but you shouldn't restrict everyone else because some 18 year-olds made stupid decisions. then u won't even considered legalizing weed or other drugs when alcohol has the highest harm to self and others compared to any other drug even over heroin with mushrooms being the lowest out of all of them, alcohol is a drug like the others I'm not saying we should ban it but everything has risks when you give it to a large population, someone will die or get hurt. People and kids died because of kinder eggs for god's sake, everything has risks.
My first alcohol experience happened when I was 14 i got drunk but no one got hurt and the guy that stays sober actually called Ubers for everyone and after the experience I realized how in a controlled environment alcohol is a pretty good thing and that it may not be for everyone it being as high as it is is stupid as I have gotten older and my first weed experience at 13 I as I aproched the legal drinking age the more idiotic the law seems I believe that 14 is a appropriate age to start as you can’t drive you can learn your limit and it doesn’t feel as taboo or fun and will imply people to be safer and not have as much thrill of braking laws

The idea of adulthood is an individual is grown and has the ability of making own decisions. The Americans should lower the drinking age to 18 years old or raise the age of adulthood to 21 years old.
