- So after leaving my 2019 Mustang GT at the dealer for over a week they reached out to Ford with regards to my engine rattle that is happening at 2k rpm and ford ended up answering back with the following.

You clever. Lmao

Lolololol
You won the internet this month.
"If there is anything else I can do for you, just let me know". So far, they did nothing except damage the car and waste your time.
Truuu
I'm having the same problem and Ford won't honor the warnity.
Brandon Correll Go to them and threaten that you will contact higher up and complain
Thomas Magda Ha that sounds just like The Ford dealership in my city.
@@brandoncorrell5688 this sucks when this happens that's why I am always curious about buying 2nd party warrantys
"Compare it to other" if they all have the same problem that's called a factory defect, not a characteristic
Exactly they all sound like shit is not a defense LOL
Normal. Give it 100,000 miles + and when the engine is still running normally you will realize they were right. People said the same thing about ticking noises the past 24 months, many of them have over 100k on the engines and they are clearly normal engines with no power losses or anything so ford was right about that also being normal. Lot of the high pressure pumps and things in new high performance engine can make some pretty strange noises
@@lolz616 example of a gen 3 coyote over 100k, it's not normal and it's not the GDI pump, even Ford admits it's not the GDI pump when they say in the tsb7718 may start after first oil change which has zero to do with the gdi pump...yes it has has caused multiple failures with the plasma bores flaking and his very cars bores are scored....
@@bluecollardaily2676 If anything in his engine was "scored" he could prove that and get it covered under the warranty ding dong... why didn't he if he has that PROOF his engine is "scored"??????
@@lolz616 i hope I'm wrong. Because I'll be stepping up to a 18 in 2 or 3 years and I'd like mine to not be worth less then what i got now
I had a start up rattle on a v10 ford truck years ago. I took it in and ford said it was normal. I went on to put 350,000 miles on that truck with NO issues.
Dude, they fed you BS about it being normal, damaged your car, and now your letting them scratch your paint up by washing it with sponges and towels they just washed every other car with? That dealership is a joke.
Yeah as soon as he said he's waiting for them to wash it I died a little. ESPECIALLY black like damn.
If this dude lets the dealership wash his car he shouldn’t be worried about a little rattle.
OH STFU!!!
Never let a stealership wash your car unless you want paint damage and swirls
Hardcoreweather1 My parents had their brand new Honda CRV washed at the dealership after they were told them not to wash it and the wash guy didn’t open the garage door all the way when he backed out and caught the antena and did damage to the roof, so you got that right never let the dealer wash you’re car!
The Toyota Dealership we went to in Missouri washed the car after any sort of service, even maintenance, and never damaged anything. That being said they destroyed my dad's windshield on his truck 3 days after he got it. It was used, and he took it to them to get it looked over, and one of the garage doors had the sensor fail, and it dropped like a 1 ton brick onto his windshield. They obviously paid for it.
Exactly!
I am that guy that washes the cars once they get sold at a Chevy dealership and can can say for sure 95% of Chevy’s new cars have paint damage weather it’s actual scratches or imperfections in the clear coat before they even arrive at the dealership
Most brand new cars paint jobs, even some in the higher end range, suck and already have swirls, orange peel etc. the average customer doesn't notice or care. But most could use a full detail/correction straight out of the factory.
How to fix - GET A LOUDER EXHAUST

I can confirm this. Chances are they didnt touch the car. Saw this alot at a chrysler dealer i worked at

That dealer person talked like he had his tail beetween his legs. SUSPECT. 😂😂😂😂😂 you are too nice man.
Probably because dude is being filmed. Personally I'd ask not to be filmed for others entertainment.
The unfortunate thing is they teared into your brand new engine for nothing and the same place that damaged your decklid spoiler put your engine back together. Trust level is 0.00%.

That new intro is sick. I love Side Boo!
I had the same problem with a Dodge Charger. They kept saying the issue was normal. Took it in for State inspection first time when out of warranty and was told about the issue, they even entered it on the work order as a problem. They diagnosed the problem as the rear differential. I kept every receipt and confronted the service manager. He said I had to file through Dodge. Dodge didn't care as it was out of warranty. Claimed it was a dealer issue as they would have covered the repair while under warranty. Paid a lawyer $100 to write a threatening letter to the dealer. They wanted arbitration. Submitted my paperwork to the arbitrator who sided with me. They rebuilt the rear end. NOTE: Arbitration is risky. If you choose that route and lose you have no recourse. For what a trial would have cost I chose it and crossed my fingers.
I vowed Dodge will NEVER get a dime from me ever again...I had an Interpid and yeah i still remember how they behaved when the engine was bad and the trans needed sensors.
Dude it would have been EPIC if you had Revved the SRT to 2000rpm and said NO this is fckn normal....that's a diesel truck LOL
If it’s under warranty drive it and let something happen to it then they have to fix it 🤷🏻♂️
Unless you used the LINE LOCK feature and it's stored in the computer logs and will VOID YOUR WARRANTY!
@@67Zink If it's a stock feature on the vehicle, they can't void your warranty. That's a law suit waiting to happen.
Would doing a muffler delete ever void a warranty
@@shanebanich1498 Technically they have to show that the modification caused the issue in order to refuse service under warranty. That being said, stealerships are greasy af and may very well try to pull that on you even though they are not allowed to, and you may have to fight them on it.
Personally I think it's highly unlikely you'd have any issues they prob won't even notice the mid delete.
@@shanebanich1498 A cat back exhaust will not void your warranty but a muffler delete might. You wont pass state inspections with a chopped muffler.
do you feel the rattle in the stick and the clutch? I have a 2019 with 1500 miles and I feel the rattle and slightly here it
19 as well same issue
So...
They took your engine apart and couldn't find anything abnormal. Apparently. this dealerships mechanics called Ford mechanics for support, who told them to see if the rattle existed on other Mustangs. They noticed that the rattle existed on other Mustangs in their lot, said it was "normal", then put your engine back together.
The fact that they didn't see if the rattle existed on other Mustangs before taking your engine apart is an indication that this dealership's mechanics may not know how to diagnose car trouble. You don't even need to be a mechanic to do a "comparison" diagnostic. Take your car to another dealership for service if possible.
Sounds like this dealership's service department is careless as well. Did they inform you of the deck-lid damage, or did you have to point it out to them? Whether they pointed it out to you or not, the damaging of your deck-lid sounds like carelessness on their part. If they didn't point it out to you before you noticed, then they're not only careless, they're sneaky as well.
Again, take your car to another dealership if possible, because there is a chance that every time you bring your car into these people for service, they will damage something on your car, not tell you about it, hold your car for weeks, and in some cases charge you for the repair.

where did you get that version of Flux Pavilion- Pull the trigger song? Can't find it.
Funny thing is that my 2019 GT has the same rattle sound and I was wondering if it was normal.
At 5:50 🤣🤣 So if I bring my new ride in with some weird noise lets compare the noise with a few other ones ... if it sounds similar you’re all set it’s normal????
Hi bro! Stupid question: is there a break-in period when you purchase a brand new Mustang GT? If so, is the engine electronically limited in terms of power? Cheers
I like how you don't show your frustration and still make jokes with them. if this is happening to me right now, OMG! I would've lost it LMAO
I have the same thing going on with my 18. I also have the 6 speed. 8000 miles on mine and the 2k rpm rattling is still there. Good luck bro
Yeah I agree. I’m strongly considering getting rid of it.
@Kona Stang18 2016 GT here that just turned over 50k miles on the clock today. I also have the 2k rattle and it goes away when the engine is warmed up. I also have fun with this car and i do beat on it, havnt broke anything yet but its disappointing hearing that noise.
RED_10R thanks brother. It is definitely disappointing hearing it. These cars are not cheap lol. More than anything I’m hesitant to modify the car because I don’t want to void the warranty. Other than that I love the car
@@konastang1811 i havnt had any issues with warranty work, i got longtubes, lowering springs, full exhaust, and a airraid intake this far. Good luck with yours. Beat in it and have fun they can take it lol
It’s good that you have no issues and I hope it remains that way because as far as the factory is concerned you voided your warranty.
This happened to my dad a few years ago, the company he worked for let him go buy a new semi so he went and got a 2015 379 Peterbuilt that had 300 miles on it and after a few days of driving he noticed the transmission was vibrating so he took it back several times and they said nothing was wrong, so his boss said fuck em it’s under warranty so drive it until it goes out. Well it only got around 5,000 miles before the transmission hulled so Peterbuilt replaced it and he hasn’t had a problem out of it ever since
Clifton Williams should’ve done some clutch drops lmao
Hey man, I have a 19 Mustang GT too and has the same exact sound... I seriously don't know what to do. Not sure if I just drive it or bring it in to Ford cuz it seems like Ford stealerships aren't helpful
I have the same problem on my 19 gt with 800 miles on it. Im taking it in tomorrow to see what they say. I am getting an x pipe and roush axle back put on friday. I'm just going to enjoy the car it has a warranty.
How common is the tick/rattle in the 2018+ coyotes? I’ve just seen a few complaint vids on UA-cam but we al know a few cases on the internet can make it seem like it’s a widespread issue when it may not be.
I was shocked when you purchased that car after so many people on UA-cam were having similar issues!
We all warned him....
I had a rattle just like that at 2k rpm also, on my 04 mach 1. My solution was easy, louder exhaust. Before trading in the mach 1, motor had 125,000 and still pulling strong. Don't let some little rattles scare you so much. Enjoy the car man.
Rod G well said! 👍

What brand and weight of oil in the car ??? Any additives used yet ? 19 here also that does not rattle .
Did you find any solution to it ? I’m about to drop off my 2019 at the dealership in couple days, please let me know
For someone to say that's just a characteristic of the engine does not know how engines work at all. When torn down to the short block some have found cylinder damage caused by piston slap on the 2018 gt, and the sound was identical.
@ncsam 000000 IT is well documented. Use google no one has to prove anything to you. It is known issue. Sadly you tube is making it feel like it is very common but its not. Shop has 4 5.0's no issue. One I purchased was lemoned after 2nd motor. So yeah I am done with 5 liter until they fix this issue sadly.
There's nothing normal about top end engine rattle 🤣
With ford it is
Matters what engine it is. This isn’t a normal v8 like the Ls style engines or the Hemi. It’s a 32 valve modular v8. I owned a 2017 mustang that had the slight ticking noise like this one, it’s an fuel injector tick. It goes away after the engine warms up. It’s also not top end, it’s 1.2-3k rpms
@WeeStrom CO Guy just because they say it's normal it gospel right? Don't believe that hyper bullshit about it being normal. With that said, there are normal engine noises like injector tick. I get this, but top end rattle is not normal. It's a sign of bad design and manufacturering flaws. Chevy and Ford are notorious for claiming things are normal when they know damn well it isn't. They know the public, with the exception of a few, will believe the bullshit they spew when it comes to explaining why one of their vehicles aren't preforming up to specs. I know what's inside those engines and it's piss poor design and lazy ass manufacturing.
@@direravenext3815 we are talking about the 18s and 19s. Fuck, maybe the 2020 models too. It's ridiculously insane what Ford is doing lol

I have a 2019 GT PP1 and I have zero ratttle.I wonder if this a build issue with certain batches.Regardless if something happens it's warrantied and will be repaired or replaced.

I'd rip that car and blow it up and make them replace the engine...
What so that one could rattle and tick too?? 😂
@@AudibleVisibIe Just to make the assholes do it lol.
Not even close to the logical decision. Just think, a “new” engine is only going to be the very good possibility of new problems in multiple areas of the car.
Problem is the new replacement will do the same.
The huge problem with that is replacement engines are notoriously more unreliable from ford.
I can't hear anything in any of the video footage, am I missing something? It sounds normal to me...
I have a 2018 mustang GT with 20,000 miles on it and there is no rattle at 2000 RPM. It did have a bit of thrashing at lower rpm’s under a light load for the first few thousand miles, but the engine has quieted up and gotten smoother as the miles have racked up. The power increases as well. Hope you continue to enjoy it.
I’ve got the same noise. Ford called it a “universal” noise. Also have a whining noise seems like its from the transmission. Asked ford about it and wouldnt you know it. “Universal”.
Have you done a bore scope on yours?
@@RushShift Fuck that shit Rush. Go to an independent mechanic and get a bore scope done. If there is damage done take it back to Ford with proof. They'll have to either put a new block in or you can get the buy back hopefully. I might be going through the same thing with my 19 GT.
You have a 10 speed or manual?
lol, sounded like a smooth sewing machine the first 1,000 miles. Now they say the rattling is normal. Hilarious. Just trash the car and engine at the track over and over, till it breaks and send it back for warranty work.
@@RushShift No I haven't yet. That'll be my next step.

Wow that’s lame on ford to say that’s normal smh... I hate to ask but, how many swirls did they put in your paint while it was in the shop?

Sadly the rattle/typewriter tick is a normal characteristic of the 5.0 there’s a technical service bulletin saying not to do anything unless catastrophic engine failure has occurred. Sorry they wasted your time 😓
Is it worth getting a 2019 mustang 5.0 I want to buy one but videos like this scar me away but I think every car makes has there problems.....
Is it clutch "chatter"? If it is its no big deal. Most proper performance vehicles with manual transmissions have some sort of chatter from the complete lack of or minimum flywheel dampening.
Looks like the 241 and when you get that pony back, run it like you stole it, put some miles on it and do an oil sample on the engine, that will give you an idea if there is any accelerated wear ie piston rings, bearings , cylinder walls or engine block. If there are unusual high levels of metals, the lab report will say.
You need a built coyote. Done put a whippel charger on there with 3-4 modest pounds of boost. The sound will go away for sure and you will be tattooed with a permanent smile!!
All pro 5.0
So as long as they are all broken then it’s fine ?
Is it just the 18s that have the rattle? Just curious because I'm looking to get a 15-16

Sounds like oil pump not pushing oil up to the valve train! Sounds like Ford don't want to replace the motor! Brand new motor shouldn't knock/rattle in any rpm range! Hope you get it right!
Being a salesman for several years for a Ford dealer I've seen stuff like this many many times before... the techs often put parts they remove in the trunk, cargo area or bed. I'd bet they were opening and closing your trunk a bunch and slammed it shut, which cracked the plastic. Sadly a lot of them are pretty damn careless. I'm pretty meticulous so I maintain my vehicles myself, I really try to avoid having them work on my stuff if I can. That's my 2 cents dude. Nice mustang!

Ford Motor Company... “Rod knock and piston slap are normal characteristics of our engines these days... so is all the damage inside the cylinders.” “We don’t even scope the cylinders anymore.... we just tell people it’s very labor intensive and costly work.”
So true....
All it takes is to be a pain in the ass. I once took a car I bought and wrote junk on the inside windows at the front of a Volkswagen dealer. I took the keys and started walking up the street. The sales guys were pissed . The owner of the dealer caught up with me about 10 minutes later. I told him no keys till he signed a paper with my demands. Worked great.
greg black: Wow... I never heard of anyone doing that before. The nuclear option!!!
Not because I was a tough guy but broke and newly married with a baby. This dealership sold me a car with a bad motor and I found out they knew it and tried to hide it. It was a Nissan wagon and I ended up with a new engine and driving a new Volkswagen for 2 months till mine was fixed.
I can't really make it out in the video but if it's piston slap , and goes away after the car warms up its totally normal.
It has no effect on wear or longevity of the engine and piston slap is very common across all makes of cars.
Not gonna lie 🤔 I wonder if this issue can be fixed with playing and tuning the air fuel ratio because it almost seems as if you car runs lean for a minute then evens out

Hey bro is that a custom dashboard?
I'd trade that s.o.b. in asap. I'm a lover of all cars but that's unacceptable.
Thing is other dealerships know it now, I tried I had left all my tags on and everything with only 600 miles I tried and they smack you HARD word has gotten out on these piece of shit gen 3s and its actually affecting price and trade ins now...cause when tsb7718 dropped other car dealers know your stuck with it so if you got a ticker they have the high ground
I worked at a ford dealership... rattle like this resulted in a replacement car lol
What year is the car?
Glad the car is back but that’s 100% not normal. If anything let the problem get worse then at a certain point you can take it back again
