PSA REGARDING THE SCRATCH: Lebanon Ford notified me of the scratch before delivery. I chose to accept the car as-is so that I didn't have to wait longer for it to be fixed. I will be having my body shop fix it and Lebanon Ford is covering this cost.

My thoughts exactly since Matt knows cars and this is not some knee jerk car purchase. I was just like Matt when I got my 1988 5.0 Mustang. No air bags, no cup holders, no traction control and only $12,500 brand new. How times have changed.
differenttigers Yeah I have no clue who this guy is but there's nothing greater than seeing someone be truly happy. I was smiling the whole time haha. I just sold my 99 Mustang for an 18 Colorado and while I love the truck, I do really miss being a part of the Mustang family. Watching this made me not think about my Colorado, it reminded me of getting the Mustang (my first car). The Colorado was kinda ruined by the stress of spending so much money (I'm really cheap haha). But this was just like me getting my first car. Screw self-driving cars. You can't get the joy that these moments bring.

It's because Matt is a genuine, nice guy, is not your topical UA-camr view hunter. You know those clickbate, overly excited and "fake" reactions, that you see so many people doing to try and increase their views. Matt's channel might not have a "Million" subs, but the people that are here will be here for the long run and like myself appreciate his approach and point of view on things.

Matt, really looking forward to my Bullitt (Vin 137) built 6/20 but still awaiting transit (heading to Florida), but probably won't be able to top your sincere enthusiasm. This is my first Mustang (actually my first Ford). Found you when I was trying to get info on the Bullitt. I liked your "down-to-earth" approach on car reviews without being overly judgmental. Surprised someone as young as you would be interested in this model and real familiar with McQueen and the car chase that truly ignited fast cars in the movies. I'm 72 and always a car nut (Corvettes, Vipers, SSR, etc.), but really got excited about the Bullitt. Mainly the cue ball stick knob got my attention. When I was young, I worked for Hurst Shifters and assembled those shifters with this cue ball knob. I also loved Steve McQueen and the Bullitt movie. Your video got me more excited about getting delivery on my Bullitt. I truly appreciate your whole hearted love of automobiles and your dream of owning this Bullitt. Enjoy, stay safe and keep having fun with your job and your Bullitt. Thanks.

They should have notified Matt and had it either fixed prior to delivery or worked to get him another Bullitt.
I would want another one....To repair it properly they will have to blend the paint to the right quarter, drop the bumper, removed the rt tail lamp, pull the quarter glass. Yes it is minor scratch but to repair it properly they will be disturbing the factory paint on the right door, rt quarter, and the roof rail. I would have been livid. I know they will pay to repair it but I would ask for some money off the car or have them send me a new one.

He better hope someone can wet sand and buff that out. If not the paint will never be the same. Personally I'd tell them to order me another one.

Benjamin Henderson I take it you have never had a vehicle properly repaired... The whole door will need painted and adjacent panels will have to have their clear sanded and resprayed to have the whole car match properly... BUT it is nothing that a good body shop can't do, and once done you will never see it, even if you know what to look for.

Love the car, congrats but did they seriously hand over a new car to a customer with a scratch on it? That’s an easy fix so why wasn’t it done?

Yeah I was thinking the same, I would hope they told him about it rather than hoping he didn't see it. Here in Australia we pay a dealer delivery cost where they inspect the car and make sure its ready to be delivered if this is applicable in the USA I would be asking for some of that back.

I probably would not trust them to fix it.
They didn't see it until I was about an hour away from arriving. They wrote me up an IOU and will cover the repair cost.
The gears will feel taller at lower RPMs, but once you are able to get to redline, you'll understand the tall gears. The car will pull much harder up top.
My opinion is that the gearing is really too tall. It hurts the car performance. Come on, limiter at 160@6800 in 4th with 3.73 gears !

Tall gearing for overall corporate gas mileage bottom line, while sacrificing both performance and driveability. I wish Ford had held the line for the Mustang.

Matt. Only got a 3 for ANCAP rating. Still waiting for Ford Aust to get a Mustang up to 5. See lots around here, so the young (maybe older as well) are happy! This of all the earlier, less loved Mustangs may largely have taken over from the hyper powered V8 turbo Falcon Sedans which came in many iterations, but as a base family car, carried generations of kids in or out of rear children's carseats. But that's another story.

Made a suggestion about the centre console mate.
Put the cup holders across the console and put an electric handbrake switch in the middle of the console. I used to contract for GM. Thats how i would want it if i purchased one in Australia.

I try to catch all of your videos, I was looking back through and I don't know how I missed this one. It's by far my favorite. I'm glad you were able to capture this moment on video. I hope the AC evaporator doesn’t get a hole in it and leak all the freon out within three weeks of buying it like it did on mine and a coworker’s and many other new Mustang owners. Then the dealership is going to lie to you and tell you that it was a faulty o ring and put stop leak in it to temporarily seal the hole, but it will come back again and do the same thing all over again and then they will have to take the dash out of the car and put a new evaporator in it. The dealership will pretend they’ve never heard of it before, but the fact is it’s very, very common on mustangs, and they’ve had to fix a lot of them.
Mine also had a scratch on it in the very same place yours did when I got it.
If I had it to do over again, I wouldn’t buy a Mustang or any other Ford. I don’t intend to buy a Ford ever again.
Ford has a major issue with defective parts from parts suppliers that don’t have any quality control.

Two Mustang GT’s. Both had air cond system replaced. Starter motor at 9000 miles. My 15 had the entire front bumper break a clip for no reason and the only fix was a complete bumper replacement painted by a body shop. I sold the POS car.
Newer Mustangs are JUNK. Many known issues.
Same thing on the Chevy side side too with my Camaro. They’re just cheaply built. Never buying American again, it’s just not worth it.
