- Both races were from a 70mph rolling start to 170mph. A lot of side betting going on. Big thanks to both drivers for coming out and having a good time with no drama and putting on a hell of a show. A re-run may be in the works. Stay tuned.
Datsun: AD Turbo built 3.0, 8685 turbo, powerglide, e85
Blazer: Built LS3(unknown cubic inch), 94mm turbo, powerglide, c16

01whitelightning 😂😂😂 I promise it doesn't look that bad in person but it's since been fixed with some new Jeep headlights. Looks crispy now.

If someone told me their blazer could pull the tire on the highway, I'd bet them everything in my pocket against it.
Chubbza5 it most definitely does pull the tires. I've got videos of it lifting a good 6-8" from a roll on the highway.

I believe that motor in a different car would be way better like take the engine setup out of that blazer and throw it in a fox body or a rx-7 and then it would be a even match plus seems like the Datsun was a little out of control

v8 aint gonna have the top end power a high revving inline 6 is gonna have. It had the torque to pop wheels but once that JZ spooled up, it was over. suspension or not. I got money on the Blazer from a dig though

Trevon Adams LoL people who love the 2jz and don’t know what it takes to swap in one and build it to 1000hp. Half of them Have no idea what they’re talking about. They just like the sound of the engine and that’s enough..
The only thing that a 2jz has against the Is... the inline engine has a strong crankshaft. Other than that. Everything else is a weak point against the ls. The block needs hardened steel sleeves for high hp and boost applications forged aluminum pistons. And rods to make it a 1000hp capable motor. While a 5.3 ls vortex motor an old truck motor can handle 700whp right out of the Getco. If you grind the piston ring gap bigger and have arp head studs and a good head gasket. You’ll be saving a good 15k against the built 2jz Maybe more.
Also that blazer lost a load of traction. Dudes need to get a better suspension set up

your typical roll racers lambos,vettes ,porches,ect ..but these guys have there cars dial and geared to launch on a dig at 60+..if they ran the same tires as your common roll racers did like lambos,Ferrari's they would blow the tires off worse than they allready are

no wonder the 2jz engines are so expensive today ,
a 2jzge handles up to 700hp stock. Theyre like 200 at junkyards. Look for 94 and older Lexus GS300. change pistons and you basically have a 2JZ-GTE. You're welcome.
Lorenzo I'm pretty sure there are a number of differences though. The heads I know are different, different pistons, rods, bearings. And the GTE has oil squirters while the GE does not.. And of course, different compression ratio.. Maybe a few other things... But yeah, lower compression pistons would mostly do : )
Still, you can grab a 2jz gte for around 2K, not so crazy... Now the 6sp Getrag trans? That's where the big money comes in!
bliglum lower compression is only for beginner tuners. 10.1 compression is great for turbo. Im running a 2jzge with a s366 turbo and a cd009 transmission from a 350z
Well yes, higher compression will help spool the turbo faster, but with any imperfections in the tuning, detonation is much more of a concern. But I guess that would line up with your "beginner turners" statement wouldn't it! Haha!
I've helped my friend with his Exige though, aftermarket boosted Toyota 2zz. It's been a real challenge dialing it in. Helped me appreciate factory turbocharged cars a lot more as my older MR2 Turbo was so trouble free by comparison.
So you're running a 2j? in what? I was thinking about trying a build with an S2000 2j swap. What sort of power can the Nissan cd trans hold?
