You did a great job, thank you for not going too quickly. I have the same paper, the same paper cutter and the same metal ruler, so was kind of deja vu for awhile there lol. Thank you!!
Thanks so much for this video! I love these pocket folders and made a couple a few weeks ago. I wondered then about laminating them and you have shown me that it is possible to do. Your tutorial was very clear and precise; easy to follow. Read the comments and picked up some good ideas from them. Paper crafters are so nice and so willing to share--that's one reason I enjoy this community so much! Thanks for being right there at the forefront!
Awesome! After I cut out the folder I ran it back thru the laminator and folded it while still warm that way I don't have to lightly break the laminate in the fold. Works great! Thanks!!
Thank you for this video! I was hoping there would be a DIY way to laminate a folder! I just wasn't sure how easy it would be to open the pockets up, once laminated. You did a beautiful job....Thank you!
I just received my Pocket Mr. Darcy yesterday and I am anxious to add inserts! I’m glad I found this video, so I can make my own. You did an excellent job explaining and showing the process. I also wear jewelry and didn’t even notice the bracelet noise until you mentioned it. It wasn’t a distraction at all! You are amazing❣️
I love it. I was looking for a tutorial in making a pocket to hold stuff in my small planner & this is perfect. Wasn’t sure how I was going to hold/glue it in to the back page & you ended with the rubber ribbons. Genius!! Thanks for sharing!
You are so cute! Thanks for the tutorial. I just bought a passport size traveler's journal and can't wait to personalize it. I hope it's the same size as the personal size. Can't wait to see what you have next!!!
I just finished doing laminated folder and for one of them I put glitter but yeah have to use fine glitter but it still came out good thank you so much for the tutorial. Have a blessed day.
First off, you crack me up on with how you measure things perfect, I thought I was the only one..lol I enjoyed watching your videos! You brighten my day, enough to have me comment on here. (I Have NEVER Commented on anything before) You do such a wonderful job. Now I am going to run to Michael's get some supplies and try this :) Thank you for sharing!!
You did so well explaining! What a great video! Thanks for sharing. Just purchased my first TN. Got a Mr. Darcy Pocket. I can't wait! I am going to use your tutorial for SURE. You're awesome. :)
Just a suggestion.... I have a horrible time keeping my paper straight on my cutter. Not even pressing down was working that well. I found a solution that works well for me. I use a piece of removable scotch tape. I stick the paper right onto the cutter. Lifts off easily, and I can use the same piece through many items of a project. It helps with that bit of movement while I'm holding down the paper.
I made a pocket folder last night. It would have been a lot easier with double sided paper. I’m going to make another one, i will try to laminate this one.
Fantastic! What a great help this will be, thank you for sharing! I've already had some mishaps so this should assist with not wasting so many supplies! ;)
Excellent tutorial! I love your personality- a tiny bit obsessive but go with the flow at the same time. 😀 Thanks for this super informative post - first of yours I have watched. New subscriber.
I know I'm late to comment on this video, but I got caught in the planner UA-cam video time suck (where did those three hours go?!) and stumbled across your video...this is one of the best, most detailed videos ever! Thank you! That scoreboard looks like a magic tool and I will definitely be getting one. I am glad that you are so precise with your measurements, because I am too, and watching someone else be so "extra" like you said makes me feel better about being so nitpicky about mine! I'll definitely be watching more of your videos and following you on IG (I'm @one.good.girl)!
I love this tutorial!!! I want to make one for my mom... but her travel notebook is standard size.... please... do a tutorial with the measures of a standard size!!!
+A Fields I don't have a portrait, only a silhoutte cameo. Would that work for you? Let me know which size and I'll do a video using the studio software.
+Allycia Lee TFW! I haven't had much luck with the glue sticks. I'm thinking it may have something to do with the Florida heat, but my regular cardstock doesn't stick well with the glue sticks at all.
Could you have cut the unlaminated part to save for a smaller laminated piece in the future? thanks for sharing I am learning a lot from your page. Watching from BC Canada
+scrapcraftastic Thank you for this video!!! How does sparkly paper and holographic paper take to lamination? Have you tried it? Does it make sparkly paper dull and weird looking or does it look just as shiny as it did without lamination? Also with holographic paper does the lamination create weird patterns like those old plastic sticky we used to use for book covers? Lol thank you!!!
Very pretty! I learned the hard way about not cutting inside the air bubble on my first try! Did the paper start to separate from the laminate after using it for awhile since you had to break the seal?
Apologies…late to the party, but…this video is awesome! Tip for paper separating from laminate…the first time I used Pen + Gear laminate pouches from Walmart. Got separation immediately. Then used Scotch brand laminating pouches and worked like a charm. Took Scrapcraftastic advice and ran through again after breaking seal…perfect!
Thank you, thank you, for this video. I was more interested in the making of the pocket folder, not the laminating (yet). Followed you with my first try and of course I goofed up. However, on my second one, it clicked and I made two more after that (three). I posted on my instagram @suburbhousewifeofga I never thunk I could do it and glad I tried. Now I just gotta figure out how to do diy calendar print outs..........
I'm so sorry to keep asking questions! Hopefully this will be my last one!! Which Fiskars trimmer is this? I bought a different brand trimmer and it was awful! I thought I'd know just by looking, but they have several that look the same! I really appreciate your kindness and help!!
+Kaila Ramesh this is the one with wide base but the other one works just as well. I uploaded a video today with a few close up views. ua-cam.com/video/aMNH_vGAU0c/v-deo.html
Scrapcraftastic thank you so much!! I didn't realize that so many look almost identical! I'd like to get one that can cut the most materials. I really appreciate all your help and kindness!
Do you think you could laminate it first and then glue it all together and eliminate the need to open up the pockets or is it too thick to do that? Just wondering if you tried it that way. thanks for the video
+PROUDMOMMA61 I think you would run into problems folding because of the laminate. It may work if you score the folds, but that involves breaking the laminate.

+Kaila Ramesh yes, I have some small EK Success Punches that are corner rounders, but they don't work on chipboard, laminate and other heavyweight materials, that's why I got the corner Chomper. If you have one of the big craft stores in your area, you could use a coupon. That's what I did.
+521LakeStreet yes, are you looking for the finished dimensions or the size you would need to make the folder? I have a standard folder template available in my shop at scrapcraftastic.com. Thank you for watching!
That's my fave style of paper!! I had some stacks of a different line, but they were also by DCWV. Can you tell me the name of this stack? Thanks also for the tutorial👍🏻💕Just subbed... I know I'm watching this way after you made it! I just recvd my first TN so was looking for ideas on folders... Yours are great. ~ Terry
What laminator brand would you recommend ? I am new at this and don't have a clue. I did see one at Walmart in their office section and I wanted to buy it but I wanted to do a little research beforehand. They had refill laminating film right next to it on the shelf. I don't remember the brand name but I am pretty sure it was Scotch or some famous brand that makes tape also. Please help if you have time. Thanks so much...Thumbed up and subscribed..great video!!
+Debbie Lee thank you! I use Scotch 3mil laminate. I have a very old laminator, but I also purchased a Scotch laminator when they were on sale a few months ago as a backup. So I recommend Scotch.
You did a great job, thank you for not going too quickly. I have the same paper, the same paper cutter and the same metal ruler, so was kind of deja vu for awhile there lol. Thank you!!

I'm in Florida as well! I haven't had any problems. I make sure to put a lot on though.
+Allycia Lee oh! I tried using more but it caused the cardstock to warp. I'm going to give it another shot.
Great tutorial!!

Very pretty! I learned the hard way about not cutting inside the air bubble on my first try! Did the paper start to separate from the laminate after using it for awhile since you had to break the seal?
