In a world of things, where possessions sway,
I own almost nothing, and here I'll stay.
    Happiness found in simplicity's embrace,
Living with less, a serene and tranquil space.
A clutter-free haven, where joy takes flight,
Not burdened by things, in the soft moonlight.
For in the essence of now, I find my glee,
Embracing less, living light and free.
Material treasures may come and go,
Yet the heart's contentment continues to grow.
In the canvas of simplicity, colors unfold,
A great time to live with less, a story told.
With each breath, a mindful decree,
I own almost nothing, yet happiness is key.
In the beauty of moments, where true wealth lies,
Living with less, beneath the open skies.

Hey, Thank You Timothy. Yes, I'm from Germany and people rush from one thing to another, have no time for love and people in general, and have full to-do lists, and therefore have no time to enjoy their large apartments full of possessions. They have completely forgotten how to do this. I find these people to be unhappy with a strange, unfriendly energy. I myself have reduced everything down to a quarter. I stopped working for a while. Ownership no longer means anything to me because it made me unhappy, irritable, rushed and unfriendly. Today I often feel like I'm living on the wrong planet because everything out there seems so alien to me. Personally, I feel like a winner because I can renounce and let go and can finally live and breathe. 🙂

I guess you could say I made a huge sacrifice by leaving the US and coming to live in Thailand. I basically pay about $400 for rent & utilities here in Bangkok, which allows me to live in a very nice high rise on my SS. In many ways life is good. It's certainly MUCH less stress - easier. However, I have sacrificed being near friends, family and community. Whether I can build something of a community here remains to be seen. I do very much miss people back home, and we're all not getting any younger. So, food for thought I guess.

Me and my daughter already have been practicing minimalism. She's 1 and even reminds me to get rid of certain items she notices that I don't really Need or use , she doesn't want a closet full of clothes or shoes , she enjoys her electronics and a few outfits she's comfortable wearing all day or just lounging around the house , she doesn't ask for much other than great tasting food , which is normal for a growing pre teen . She has a closet full of clothes that she never touches , so I'm donating the ones she chooses to let go and I will do the same with my wardrobe , i only have 2 pair of shoes , with worn down insoles , I will replace the insoles and keep my shoes , the outer shells are still in great shape , no need to but new ones at the moment. I love crystals , and spiritual items , other than that I dont really but things

Can't be minimalist if you expect world to go mad with energy, food rising scarcity and/or inflation, not to mention local/global revolts and armed conflicts. Or turning the society into anarchy. In that scenario, owning a mere two bags of stuff will be detrimental to your survival. Our ancestors, at least in the recent history, had to plan and prepare accordingly. Only the cavemen lived as animals and even they needed a shelter. Which the minimalist probably doesn't have as he owns nothing.
Not saying being prepper is the way to live nor sure if that is the viable lifestyle, but at least they gather stuff useful to survival.
