Hey this is the best and simplest video I have seen. There's not much adjustment room for our bikes. Your spot on.
Thanks for the video!
Great job.
Thank you for this great video. I have a 2018 XSR900 and have always wanted to adjust my suspension. After watching your video, I was able to do it with confidence. I got the rear just how I like it but I'm still fine tuning the front.
Glad it helped
I weigh 220 and my bike is scary all over the road on bumps and dips. Thanks for the explanation I’ll repeat till I get it. The way you tested with pushing down and braking was great.
Very detailed yet easy to follow. Keep up the great work!
You did great job.
Thanks, very helpful video I've been wanting to adjust my xsr900 suspension and now I have the confidence to do so
What a great video! Thank you so much
Happy to help!
thanks changed my settings much better thank you.
Really by that I mean I weigh 260 without gear and my settings are nearly the same. If you want any static sag on the rear you have soften the spring on the rear shock. I run my bike stiff on the track and 2 clicks out for the street. That's not a lot of setting.
Last track day I ran 4 from soft on the shock and 3 lines showing up front. 1 click out for front rebound and .75 out for shock rebound. Bike was feeling great but I bottomed out a few times.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Xsr900 is not fully adjustable suspension and not being able to adjust damping has been the only thing making me want to get a 890 duke over this bike. Do you think damping is important or is compression and rebound only things necessary? Thanks
just wondering. you need it soft for the streets and a little bit stiffer on the track right?
Just set preload to achieve a sag with your weight on the bike. On stock suspension I was running around 2-3 rotations out from fully in on the rebound. I am 160lb. If you go to the track you’ll need a zip tie to monitor your travel, if you are near bottom out, then increase preload or adjust your braking.
demitri any chance u could list your settings m8 please front and back for road use .im the same weight and my bike is way to hard set up .
For road use, I’d do lowest preload setting for shock, and 1-2 turns of rebound from fully in. For front try 4-5 lines showing for preload and 1-3 turns of rebound from in. Just need to test and adjust though as my bike does not equal your bike.
@@DemetriosMallous90 thank you very much demetri.
Can I ask the tire pressure, front and rear?Thank you!
I was running Continental Race Attack 2 Street tires at 31-32PSI cold around 70-75F ambient temp during track day, had no issues. Adjust your PSI accordingly.
@@DemetriosMallous90 Thank you!👍🏻
yamaha made it like that .... just rideable on the front a super hard on the back just in case someone who lives in Africa wants to lend it to an elephant to ride
