I like BOTH... Track days AND twisty mountain roads! I ride in the East, near and ON the Dragons Tail at Deals Gap... and do track days at Road Atlanta and Barber. Of course, the Track is Wider, with no lane dividers, and you are doing the same turns lap after lap... But in the mountains, you can have literally Hundreds of different turns, with all kinds of elevation change and assorted 'surprises' such as getting tighter, or running right beside a rock cliff, or a hundred-foot drop-off 10 feet from the roadway... and generally the turns and curves are sharper and closer together than on a track... and as Josh said, the torque and lower-rpm powerband work better on the tight, twisty roads where you don't have 150+ mph straight-aways. { I ride a Yamaha FZ1 with some 'tweaking' for about 145 rwhp, on Q3+ Dunlops.} And riding the mountains doesn't coast $300 per day... just find a day with good weather, fill the tank, check the tires... and GO!
