Historically those names actually come from the jobs that families traditionally had since children tended to apprentice and learn the job of their parents. So Tom the Baker became Tom Baker as populations got harder and last names became needed.

Excellent video as per. I'm wondering if the character Captain Eliza Major is a reference to the book Catch-22 and the character Major Major (full name, Major Major Major Major) who was named as such by his father as a joke and then gets promoted basically because of this. Either way, worth a read but I wonder if I'm giving the writers of Technomancer too much credit for this? Also I'm not sure if other commenters have mentioned but Captain is usually the rank below Major not above it.
Tehsnakerer, I love when somebody gives Spiders' games a decent review and it's great stuff. But I do have one question - why do you hate contrast so much ?
If you like Spiders games try out bound by flame. It is the only spiders game I have played (as far as I am aware) and I am not hating it so far. I am pretty early in the game thought. The combat is very clunky and I suggest to play on the lowest difficulty to make the combat more bearable. And they do have the stance system again, but not as refined. The story isn't anything to write home about. But if you wanna see a schlocky version of the fight against the night king in game of thrones with demon possesion instead of dragons, this game got you covered. And I kinda like the schlock.
I can't get over how uncomfortable all the clothes look in this game. Maybe I'm missing something about the skin beanie with no eyeholes but even if you *can* somehow see out of it, you can't tell me it doesn't feel like your head is being suckled by a pog. Cause that's how it looks.
Have you appeared on Off The Shelf reviews? You sound like Jess. Nice video, this is a bizarre game but I like it, it's more nonsensical than most. So many missed opportunities in terms of plot and mechanics, the smallest specks if something meaningful and for it's unique identity alone, it's more memorable than some AAA games IMO. Due hamfisted execution, I took all of the evil options 🤣 That doctor/Scientist guy is just odd but I like him for that.

I actually really enjoyed this game. Glad I pre-ordered
Nice review. The backtracking was really silly, but I can't help to love the game. Binge played it over a weekend.
So I’ve never even heard of this game but it seems interesting as all get out
I liked this game and Bound by Flame they're kind of my guilty pleasure.
Playing Technomancer after War Logs is weird. It feels like a prequel soft reboot (especially with the character of Sean)
THe combat animations look really satifying how you make people stumble and fall down n shit.
Tehsnakerer, I love when somebody gives Spiders' games a decent review and it's great stuff.
But I do have one question - why do you hate contrast so much ?
What?
This Combat reminds me of Bloodborne (Especially Knife/Gun). Speedy Hit and Runs, use of Guns, etc.
Hehe "mealy"... I am running out of your videos though, I'm loving the content! I feel there are a few ps3 games you would "like".
"As for cunts, they are named Alan." Loved that.
Jesus, Kip, you destroyed that poor idiot. Well done
Wonder they had not named the game MARS. WAR LOGS. Part II
I'm a bit late but they misspelled "to" in the subtitles at 40:41
two last names, both having to do with the sea. is it .. Seaman Fisher? Alan Seaman Fisher? :o)
Is there a Mike Hunt?
Lmao that Ishin reference -I got good news for you buddy!
Are you going to do a video on Greedfall
Maybe
Ah, so THIS is what happened to Cole McGrath after Infamous 2
Good videos, I keep coming back. Your overlaying audio with in game and your commentary can be quite confusing.
I love Dontae
I love you too lmaoooo
@@thatonedreamsomeonecrushed1912 it’s so weird getting a UA-cam notification , I feel special lol
@@doodlebobfan lol wait really, how often do you leave comments
@@thatonedreamsomeonecrushed1912 rarely lol , I usually just like the video
@@doodlebobfan i think the most amount of likes I've gotten was 3 k
Idk, so far this looks like the much better game.
Nice to see a new video.
lol at 33:00 they put lights behind a fan, but dont understand why OTHER games do it, and dont bake in shadows of spinning fan blades...
19:42 I’m gonna guess your last names are fisher-ocean, the only sea names I know
8:54 well now that looks interesting! Are we going to get a playing Ishin some day?
You're right. Say 'Water War with Aurora' 5 times fast.
Voice acting seems much better here than Mars
how can people compare spider games to mass effect ? have you people ever played gothic ?
Am I the only one who played Of orcs and men? Well only really a little part of it. My ps3 broke down. :(
6:30 They spelt Sisyphus wrong lmao
It's just an alternative spelling. Either is fine.
Game seems confused as what it wants to be. As you said about War Logs, it should have just gone full in Arkham combat with upgrade trees and story choices like Arkham.
Too bad MGS 4 isnt enough of a RPG to count for that One Armed - become Cyborg Trope
In the end id go mutants too
Mutants have to stick together after all, fuck are humans gonna do? Die faster in the sun? Be unable to charge their batteries with their dick like i do? Generally suck shit and die? Yeah right guys, my armored smash hulks and shock monks will be fine here
I take it he never got that Ryū ga Gotoku Ishin
52:41 dude looks like markiplier
i hate the games these devs push out
mainly cuz they all show potential but none deliver on it and they dont seem to learn from this
and to add to that, theyre like the devs that make gothic games. and yes. i call all their games gothic as they all essentially are. maybe a different setting but still the same game.
but these guys try to same but manage to make it even worse.
i love the gothic games btw
Is is just me or did the character models and some of the visuals take a major down grade from it's predecessor?
The only reason I knew "Mars" existed was a few of the cut scenes started making the rounds on youtube and they looked great...
At 27:51 is the guy on the right missing his left arm?
nevermind he is missing his arm I missed that
Incredibly Small note but Captain is 1 rank lower than major
this is 4 bucks on psn and like 6 or 7 on steam rn. may be worth trying it. mars war logs is 3 dollars (steam) though...
I really hate the small window you put text on screen for. It takes forever to pause at the fraction of a second needed to see the damn things. "I should die in about one second but I won't"(sic) at 46:08 took several tries.
almost as if these're meant as a joke right joey
@@YouSoSpice If it had said something like, "This text was too fast for you", that'd be a joke, but the comment was unrelated to how horribly difficult it is to stop the video in the correct frame to see it.
@@348joey If you're watching the video on PC, you can advance videos frame by frame by pushing , or . to go backward 1 frame or forward 1 frame respectively.
@@HyperShadic0 You have just VASTLY improved my video-watching experience. My thanks to you!
you know, at this point, I guess The mars, xenus series and some couple others video have 50 views from me alone.. or more..
If I had money, I would give you some X_x I guess one of my first things I do when I have more income
I really liked Bound by Flame.. it felt like a foreign B-movie adaptation of a book nobody ever read
That’s an incredible description. Can I use that?
Shaun in the first game clearly isn't the Shaun in the second. First one is younger, his head implants are different, and he's a douche. Second one is older, wiser, and he's a mentor who guides his neophyte and gives him a moral compass to follow. And... There actually is a news log about POW camp escape during the game, so Shaun wasnt running the camp this whole time.
Just accept that there's two guys named Shaun.
it's Sean, with "ea" but w/e
When i played this game i went melee staff technomancer, and i always had Lucky in my party and usually phobos like you , unlike you i prefered this game over Mars war logs
