It's impressive how the G43 bridged the gap between bolt-action and modern semi-auto rifles. Always great to see these historic firearms being preserved and appreciated on the range!
They are quite valuable today. I picked one up decades ago for a song, $400 and there were two on the rack for that price. I should have bought them both. Mine was an early Walther with all the early bells and whistles before they deleted those for simplified manufacture. I installed a shooters kit in the rifle and it did shoot very well with my handloads out to 100 yards. I would not exactly call it a great rifle, it was good but the internals are somewhat delicate. I wound up selling it for a nice profit when I was paying two mortgages (you gotta do what you gotta do) and don't think I would ever get another just because of the cost now. Interesting rifle nonetheless.
The "sniper-grade" G-43 rifle, fitted with ZF4 scope and well-maintained, was arguably one of the best rifles a WW2 infantryman could encounter - It has a high magazine capacity (for a rifle) with semi-automatic capability, the accuracy amplified with high quality Zeiss scope, and the battle-tested power of 8mm Mauser. The closest Allied counterpart was the SVT-40 rifle with Soviet scope, which was let down by poor Soviet quality work and the "SVT sniper rifle" concept was soon dropped.
you ... "saw one out there in the wild for the right price"? cmon man ... we know you paid a boatload for it. They're like the lugers of the rifle world. Either way, super cool to see. Thanks for sharing
The G43 barrel is 550 mm long, 50 mm (almost 2") shorter than the K98k 600 mm barrel. But the G43 overall length is actually 5 mm longer than the K98K.
Be careful with the extractor retaining pin. The retaining pin can go flying with the extractor. I have put a few thousand rounds through mine over the years. Also a Spring kit from Wolf Springs and she'll be good to go
The second gun I ever bought. ‘b’ AC (Walter) 45. Meaning manufactured in Feb/March ‘45. May have never saw action? That said it was a duffle cut GI bring back. Bought it for $1500 in 2004 with my tax return while in the USMC. Have no idea what it worth now? No, it’s not for sale.
Germany was very modernized. They just didn't have the manufacturing capacity to keep up with war needs.. From being the first to use fuel injection in their fighters, to the V rockets, to drones, the STG series, first to use power steering in tanks, camo uniforms, the list goes on...
I have handled a few G43, and yours got that rounded front handguard which I have not seen many, dont know why some have it. I also swaped 2 G43 bolt and bolt carrier from 2 different manufacturer to see if they would cycle....well they did not so great
Wrong, the rifle that apears is a Mondragón rifle, the anime is set in ww1 to mid 20s so it would make more sence to have a Mondragón 1908 that was used by the german air force during the first part of ww1. The Gewehr 43 is a ww2 weapons.
I wanna see the barrels I'm willing to bet the garand, and the svt have the rifling almost gone and the g43 where it's rarer most likely hasn't been shot much.
The G43 is my favourite ww2 rifle. I was introduced to it in world at war, absolutely love it
That is the best COD.
Yeah mine too
G43 in WAW absolutely slapped. Hands down one of my favorite rifles to run in that game. Still waiting for a remaster to do it again!

As opposed to the garand & svt?
you do know that the germans copied then svt40 to make the g43 right?

One of my favourite semi autos of ww2 absolutely gorgeous
If my M1 Garand is low on ammo, the next of choice would be a Gewehr 43 in Call of Duty 2!

Thanks for the share. Have a great weekend

You must have one sweet collection.
Thanks 4K makes this video (and topic) perfect.
Oh my god that’s a dream to have
Really like the cows in the video and very informative great video. 😊
7:23 almost had a heart attack when he stuck his fingers in there without holding the bolt back
How did I just find this channel?
Awesome stuff, thank you :)
It may not actually be the best, but it was the coolest looking battle rifle of the war IMO

We used to have 2 at the hunting club. One filled with concrete, so not working, over the bar. And one working owned by the club president.
nice video and nice rifles and sorry for seeing this video late
Road to berlin radio broadcast from medal of honor ps1, multiplayer theme also
Its so beautiful
Hello, 1st time viewer, lifetime shooter. Is your channel intended for video type guys learning about weapons?
Very cool gun
Deutsche Wertarbeit😅😁
Grüße gehen raus 💪🏻✌🏻👍🏻
DEETS on Audio setup? That was unequivocally crisp.
now you need a g41
Is not Axis,hi is a german Rifle, Semi Automatic 10 Shot's ! And very good.
Интересно, где разрешено там стрелять. Есть, наверное, какие то ограничения?
An unfortunate German Soldier stationed on the Eastern Front would be lucky to be issued this rifle.
O ağaçların arasında bir gün birisini vurursun. Dikkat eyle.
Nice gun

Yup, the Germans also invited rifling in barrels before the American Revolution.
I thought this was a preview to the New Zealand incident
Tipe 63
its a sexy version of an sks
Shoot itself apart?
So, a Keltec then?

is there a title for the soundtrack? thank you for the reply
Does the g43 look like a m1 carbine on steroids.
If you can't shoot irons, you can't shoot
Wasn't there a magasine variant?
This is the main weapon for Tanya Degirechaff and her 203rd Aerial Mage Battalion from the anime called Youjo Senki(The Saga of Tanya the Evil).

What was the intro song ?
We are so back
What's with the funny looking stock?
What was the song in the beginning
What’s the song playing at the beginning?
I think its Fallschirmjägerlied
Best semi auto
Wait, it shoots itself apart? Not good then.
cool
It's super crude and it breaks. The G3 is a much better rifle if you like German stuff.
Тот случай, когда немцы украли русскую конструкцию.

Song name?
fallschirmjäger song
Эта винтовка была так хороша, что немецкая армия уже в сентябре 1941 года приняла на вооружение советскую СВТ -40!
Thats just a poors mans SKS ....😏
Now had the Russians came up with the Siminov SKS a few years earlier using the 7.62×39 cartridge the war would have been over sooner.
The best one is M1 Garand
Чисто из за фашисткого марша не буду смотреть.
Please give me i like
