KL is green, safe, lots of spaces and highly developed. Look at the public transport and more will roll out soon. Not to mention it is far more affordable
My favourite city that I have been to and I have been to many around the world. I have been to Malaysia 6 times now visiting KL, Johor Bahru, Melaka, Genting Highlands, Kuala Terengganu, Kapas Island, Putrajaya, Penang, Langkawi, Perhentian Islands, Redang Island, Tioman Islands, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Semporna, Mabul Island and Sipadan Island. There is so much to see and do. And I am planning another visit in the future
I'm from Kuala Lumpur, I've been living here my whole life. Here are my personal recommendations: ISLANDS: - Pulau Redang - Pulau Kapas - Pulau Tioman - Pulau Perhentian - Pulau Sipadan (over at East Malaysia, one of the best diving sites in the region and best in Malaysia) NATIONAL PARKS: - Taman Negara (one of, if not the world's oldest tropical rainforest) - Kinabalu National Park - Gunung Mulu National Park - Bako National Park (Bako, Kinabalu and Gunung Mulu National Parks are in East Malaysia) FOOD HAVEN CITIES: - Penang - Ipoh - Malacca - Kuching FOODS TO TRY (there are way too many, but here are some popular ones): - Nasi Lemak - Nasi Kandar - Nasi Kerabu - Chicken Rendang - Satay - Bak Kut Teh - Claypot Chicken Rice - Curry Laksa - Wonton Mee - Nasi Briyani - Banana Leaf Rice - Roti Canai / Roti Planta / Roti Bom BEACHES: I'm not so sure about these, but just know that the beaches on the east coast of the peninsula are cleaner and more pristine than the more developed west coast. East Malaysia has really nice beaches too MUSEUMS: - Bank Negara Museum - Royal Selangor Visitor Center OTHER WORTHY PLACES TO VISIT: - Langkawi - Genting Highlands - Cameron Highlands (the only truly cold tourist destination on West Malaysia besides Genting and Fraser's Hill. The tea plantations here are pretty massive, especially the BOH tea plantation) - Kota Kinabalu (East Malaysia) - ESCAPE Theme Park Penang (they have the world's longest waterslide at 1,111m. I'd go there just for that 😂) - Sekinchan (small rice field town on the outskirts of the Klang Valley) - Malacca City There are more, but I only have time for this now 😅
The land area of Malaysia is a bit bigger than the Philippines, but their population is only 34 million. Imagine, one million tourists come to Malaysia every month maybe because they have much better infrastructure, so much variety of foods, cleaner environment, less traffic compared to neighboring countries, not much crazy rules compared to Singapore and everything is cheaper! it's a good place for expats to retire. Every race and religion can coexist in peace and unity.
If you love parks you can go to 1. Titiwangsa Lake 2. Desa City Park 3. Perdana Bonatical Garden 4. Taman Kiara Rimba 5.Frim Kepong (not a park, but lots of greenery 6. Blue Lake Kepong 7.Setia City Mall ( a huge green space next to the mall) 8. Outdoor Park at TRX 9. Bukit Batu Putih ,Port Dickson 10. Canopy walk at Menara KL
I've just come back today after 3.5 weeks travelling in Malaysia and Singapore - missing it already! Loving the channel - I was in KLCC a few days ago. Recommend going on a skyscraper viewing deck (e.g. KL Tower), Batu Caves (watch out for monkeys) and the Islamic Arts Museum!
KL is green, safe, lots of spaces and highly developed. Look at the public transport and more will roll out soon. Not to mention it is far more affordable
I am a Filipino living here in KL. When I first went to KL around 2013, i told myself that I won't go back here anymore, I did not enjoy my short trip that time. But I was brought here again in 2017 for a new job. And guess what, like the 2 of you, it's like a new discovery. I started to love Malaysia and I couldn't help but compare it to Philippines. Then, I got married and now I have a toddler. What I love about KL (well and also Selangor and Putrajaya) is that there are a lot of parks available for my daughter to enjoy. And the good thing is it's free :) and when it's too hot/humid for a park, there are also a lot of big playlands available in the malls.. KLCC is one of my fave places because of the big park and public pool for the kids. The only trick here in KLCC/Suria mall is to go early in the morning before noon time because it can really get crowded specially on weekends because of the tourists, buses and buses of tourists. In terms of house rental, there are also a lot of nice apartments with 2 to 3 rooms that are way cheaper when you compare with Metro Manila prices.. maybe not in the city center but there are apartments that are so near to LRT/MRT.. About wifi, internet in Malaysia is better than the Philippines 😅 and there's Arabica coffee here in Malaysia fyi 😁

The park was amazing. It looks like it is designed to accommodate many children but there were so few about. How fortunate for Koda to have the place to himself. Lucy, were those sweets like jellies? They were all so colorful.
Honestly, i feel like they should make kids area smaller and include some workout area for grown ups. So parents can enjoy workout while kids play. As kids playground area is mostly empty there it feels way too big. Some small workout station would be amazing addition 👍🏻🇲🇾

Forest Reserve Institute of Malaysia is only half hour drive and you'll be in the rainforest. I knew many europeans who were dumbfounded being in a jungle when a short while ago they were in the city.
Stayed in InterContinental Hotel before the new year, where the park is just within the vicinity. Didn’t manage to visit the park due to rainy weather and packed schedule. The Ampang Park MRT is convenient to go to the latest attraction The Exchange at TRX and Bukit Bintang.
The KLCC Park had been there way before 2019. Maybe you base yourself at different part of KL during your first visit. The triangle KL atea are posh area but we do have part of old building
