Anyone that can't sit back and enjoy the absolute joy of this live video has a sad life. The raw energy of this version of Blackfoot is amazing. I miss them. And bless the soul of Jakson Sprires.
THE BEST southern rock band ever. They had the hard edge that the others never did. I like Skynyrd and the Allmans, but I'm an old metalhead and Blackfoot has always been the real deal for me.
I hung out back stage with these guys when they were touring with Ted Nugent and Aerosmith around the mid eighties...Great guys and a hell of a show...

57 years old I've rediscovered southern rock again. Without words, but I'll try; soulful, powerful, sincere and just damn good! Looking forward to listening to this on "11" over and again on my two-day drive home. Just damn!
Can't get much better than this for good ol American R&R - slide guitar, a couple Les Paul's, rock-steady bass line, and a damn good drummer. What more do you need?
When Ricky says he is going to play a little slide here...it always makes me hit the back button several times...great solo from an excellent guy on the guitar.
This is my first time listening to Blackfoot. I have to say I'm very impressed. Not what I was expecting. I was listening to redbone & they told me to check out Blackfoot and I did and was expecting something totally different. Blackfoot fucking rocks
Reading Rock and Blues Festival 1982, these guys were amazing definitely no Lynyrd Skynyrd rip offs, stood by their own material. RIP Jakson Spires and Shorty Medlock, rock and play some blues in heaven, bless you both and the Skynrd guys up there with you, thanks.
Yes I know Ricky went to play with Lynyrd Skynyrd, that doesn't mean he is a sell out or a ripoff. It makes him very clever, he identified their need for his talent.
There was a time when MTV showed this video pretty often. Hard to believe MTV ever did anything that awesome. Sitting through hours of Duran Duran and Madonna was all worth it just to catch these 5 minutes of bad-ass-ity.
I respect the hell out of the Allman Brothers and Skynyrd and like my fair share of their songs, but I have always liked more ballsy guitars and that is why Blackfoot has always been my southern jam of choice. This is killer. Never really been another band like them and they never really got their due to begin with. So grateful for these nuggets we can still enjoy. Thank you Ricky, Charlie, Greg and Jakson "Thunderfoot" Spires (RIP).
Great high-energy version of this song - but it still was missing something without a blazing harmonica solo (or intro). It's no secret that Ricky's grandpa, Shorty Medlocke, wrote the song & played the original harmonica parts in 1981 ...he was probably gone before this concert having died in July '82. R.I.P.
