People like me were saying the same thing in the 80s about the great rock scene of the 70s and bands like Zeppelin, The Who etc. The next great rock movement is long overdue however and I'm beginning to believe it won't happen again in my lifetime. I blame the music industries failure to take chances and only thinking about the 'bottom line'.
Wow. I watched this when it first aired. I remember being surprised that Billy writes in the morning because late night always felt like a dreamier/more creative time to me. HOW THE FUCK WAS THIS 23 YEARS AGO?’!?!?!?
This is cute. Billy reminds me of a teenager whose embarrassed by his 2 dorky parents yet still has to be polite lol. I never watched Regis and Kathy lee back then so I don't know was Kathy always this goofy?
@@cryinginred Yeah, but that was always the point lol. I think it's funny how many younger people are on here saying stuff like "omg she's so cringe" when that was literally part of her act lol. I'm not meaning that in a rude way to you or anything, it's just funny I guess, because I grew up watching them every day, and both Regis and Kathie Lee were extremely beloved because of how zany and off the wall they were. I guess it just depends on the perspective of the person watching, I always loved them because they didn't take things too seriously.
@@ninja_tony you're right!! I do understand what you're saying. I guess that's the way it always in hindsight. I will say, it never stopped me from watching them! I enjoyed it back then and I miss shows like this. I don't watch TV anymore so I don't watch the View or any of those.
So I remember watching Regis & Kathy when I was kid aka when this came out. But this I missed. Must been in school during this one, but I can still remember my mom excitedly telling me later that day that Billy Corgan was on Regis and that he was so "polite"! LOL I said of COURSE he is, Mama! He's a rockstar but it don't mean he can't be polite lol
this legit is hilarious and i wish this show was still around. I can see my sense of humor in Regis and Kathie, this is literally how i am with my buddies. Just being tools and clowns on purpose to make each other laugh 😂
Arkadysom But in this interview Regis mentions the upcoming Grammy Awards and the fact that Melancholy is nominated for seven awards. That Grammy broadcast took place in Feb. 1996, so the air date for this interview has to be late ‘95 or early ‘96.
They also mention they toured for 18 months. This is definitely early 1997 after the long world tour they did throughout late 95, all 1996 and early 97. The Pumpkins actually appeared in early 97 playing "Muzzle" on US TV. The album had a long run.
MCIS came out in late October ‘95. This interview is Jan or Feb ‘97 ..so it’s only 14 or 15 months after the album came out AND near the end of it‘s promotion
Ah, Kathie Lee being inconsiderate, interrupting Billy and Regis, making Billy uncomfortable and being racist all in one 10 minute clip. Nice. Was she drinking through commercial breaks back then? Sorry, said drinking, i meant pounding wine
Billy definitely had way more hair. His dad just just refused to shave what little hair he had..Billy could have still grown some decent hair during the time this interview took place but he just didnt want to be self conscious of his thinning hair anymore..
@@kmpro3737 Billy claims Kourtney was with him when Kurt killed himself. That she slept with him to get her band on that festival tour Kurt didn't agree to be on to headline with the Pumpkins. He stated he gets annoyed when people bring up Nirvana or Kurt and doesn't want to talk about it.
I love how they used "Tales of a Scortched Earth" for his entrance lmao
🤣🤣🤣
He is great
@Jay Sharp he was! 1:50
It's my dad lol I was there when I was 17 ..they came along..hysterical for years people thought that was his dad hysterical
Scroll down, they're still thinking it's Billy's dad LOL That's YOUR dad? That's so funny!
Bro I hopped in the comments as soon as they showed his "dad" because I knew it wasn't him lol. That's awesome that is your dad!!
Something like the 90s will NEVER happen again where all these Great Rock bands become huge and mainstream.

That's cause he's a cornball fuck as well
Kathie Lee was super cringe with those voices?
@@GeriDoc8😋 😍 ♥ ✨ ❤ 💖 my boo
7:09 I have had Kathy Lee’s voice saying “6’3? Big boy” in my head for 25 years now. I cannot believe I didn’t think to look for this until now.
We all lived this long just to hear Kathy Lee say "grass don't grow on the playground"
Damn, I miss modest Billy.
He's so soft spoken
RIP Regis, one of my favorite interviews!
This is a fantastic interview, great rapport and dynamics between Regis, Kathy and Billy
This is cute. Billy reminds me of a teenager whose embarrassed by his 2 dorky parents yet still has to be polite lol. I never watched Regis and Kathy lee back then so I don't know was Kathy always this goofy?
Miss Lynn I dont know. I like you. Let's talk
She must've been because I'm watching this as an adult verses the teenager I was and she's so cringey! Lol but I always liked Regis!

I love him in virtual space.
HAPPY 49TH BIRTHDAY BILLY CORGAN !!!!
Never noticed how tall Billy is, and I have seen him live
Regis is pure class
who would think that this album would be one of the best in the history of music
Kathie Lee looks awesome in this interview! very Sigue Sigue Sputnik!! xo
21 years ago today..
21 years and 4 months ago today..
That was one of the most awkward interviews I’ve ever seen. Mostly because of Kathie Lee.
He was nervous af
No he wasn't
Its that chair..Its too small for him so he looks a little uncomfortable lol. Otherwise I don't think he was nervous
Billy is a genius. He can't get nervous.
Billy is never nervous
I think he was maccin. Whole interview is a flirt fest between him and Kathylee
WPC said on his IG Q&A that he stopped watching TV around 2010
Kathie Lee was so hot and what a great personality, too.
OMG they were the worst interviewers! lol He looked uncomfortable.
The past is filled to the brim with ass clowns. The present is filled to the brim with ass clowns
He loves them you idiot and Regis was the best..
Worst is a bit strong...but yes, they are awful.
Lol so Kathy Lee slipped Billy Corgan her number judging by the looks of it hahaha 😆🤣
04:43... Regis just shuts down her kinda legit question lol
1:45 Tales Of A Scorched Earth in the background 😂
RIP WIlliam Patrick Corgan Sr.
This was so funny
Big Time Billy Corgan!
"What songs were influenced by our show"
Billy: glad you asked, there's a little diddy called Fuc!< you (an ode to no one)
Hahahahaha nice!
Hell of a song though!
@Jay Sharp that video is what brought me here haha
that FUCKING intro mate
i was hoping for Chris Cornell's Black hole Sun to come and take it all Away!
Are you sure this wasn't aired in 95? That album came out in 95 and if this is in 97, that's two years later.
Positive. This came off of a tape that had local news. Also, remember the 1997 MTV Music Awards? SP played MatIS songs

Jesus, I don't miss inane interviews like this
This is the most awkward thing I’ve ever seen. Oil and water.
That's not his dad lol
SKOL VIKES that’s what I’ve always said!
God - What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever autographed? Dumb questions.
She was acting so silly so childish. I think she was nervous but yes she liked him.
The idiocy of the interviewers probably shocked Billy. This is the first interview of him I watched where he seems to not say much.
William Patrick is an HP Guy = All Good !
amor amor amor
I bet he still has that teddy bear up on his shelf.
03:08 LOL FUCK ME! Can't believe that humor could slide 20 years ago.
wow billy looks nothing like his dad. and this was such an uncomfortable interview.
That's because that's not his dad
He looks like his mother.
If you believe that’s his dad that’s just stupid!!!
The intro is what Seinfeld made fun of
Gravy train vs. rider on the storm.
Whats with the awful chairs? theres a couch behind them! lol...poor thing.
Kathy doesnt seem too keen lol
Kathy is a big tool box
Kathy Lee's Apu impression is what killed Regis. True Story.
This is hilarious as it's dumb
The old gay guy is awful. Love Billy Corgan🇩🇪
Old gay guy? The fuck you talkin about dummy?
He probably partied through the night and walked into this interview.
Ah, Kathie Lee being inconsiderate, interrupting Billy and Regis, making Billy uncomfortable and being racist all in one 10 minute clip. Nice. Was she drinking through commercial breaks back then? Sorry, said drinking, i meant pounding wine
I miss when racism was allowed.
cringe comment after cringe comment, small minded people having fun together
william prob thinking "what am i doing here with these doonloops"
kathy lee is absolutely revolting
Cheesy interviewers
Cringe worthy
i forgot how cringey kathie lee was
Didn't age much.

He used to be my "HERO" ...until I found out about him and Courtney Love and his involvement in Kurt's death.
Are you saying that he is the killer

Jeez. Humor before the year 2000 was cringe as hell
"Whats the weirdest thing people have asked you to autograph?" This is when I shut the video off. Wow.
