Those clone saws are pretty decent, I like them for tinkering and for super hot port jobs I’m testing out and test saws in general. ALL 3 series saws oem or clone rattle bolts out CONSTANTLY. That aluminum plate isn’t OEM but they work well to protect the underside of the saw the gas tank and cases. Good luck with the welding mufflers, it opens up a whole world of opportunities. I still have yours man, I’m so sorry I didn’t have time and then forgot about it, I’ll try and ship them this week if I get out of work in time. And those 372 chassis saws are great but I still run my 390 more, idk why it’s bigger and heavier but I like running it more. Great saw man, hope you like it
Great to see you again! I really hope to play a little bit with this saw and others. Love the lower risk associated with them for sure. Thank you and hope you are doing well!
Wow man, I never heard your full story of getting into saws. I remember those 2-365/372 clones and the top handle Jon cutter. Love your shop setup with the bar/chains hanging on side mount. I flipped saws to find what I liked and went from a ms170 to a ms461 in like a year, buying used deals and reselling. Then got into firewood to fund my hobby, I’m hooked also. Excellent video!!
Thank you Mark! I figured I would share cause some people might ask what I would get a clone after all these nice OEM saws are here. I really miss my original 372! You have a great story too man! I know you miss that 461!
Own 2-660 clones! Built one from parts and one bought used from a tree service. And they both eat wood fast! Have only replaced the flywheel key and chain tensioner. I would buy another it’s a no brainer. The clones have their place, just depends what someone expects, or what they’re doing.
I've been super happy with the Eklind power-t torx set I got about a year before HF released their Icon t handles. No experience with the Icons. Yeah, in a way, holzfformas carbon fiber dip looks kinda cheezy, but I still like it! Excited to see the G372 come full circle with you👍🏻
Thanks for the feedback. I really have always thought in my head, I wish I still had those saws. I really liked the orange one I had. Was sentimental to me in a way.. Oh well, onward we go!
I have 3 tanks through it so far. Hiccup on camera but actually was super easy. One quality issue though is the spark plug was in there VERY tight. Honestly couldn't easily loosen in the field like I ought to have been able to. I am kinda worried it was over tightened and hope that the threads are going to be ok.
What a great idea! I am going to need to look into this. Also, could be cool to do to my ECHO saws as well. The metal switch is robust and unlikely to fail but I find it super easy to bump. Thank you again!
Kept watching, hadn't hit the bit on the icon t handles. I like them, but they flex quite a bit when torquing down stuff like cylinder cap screws. I haven't used them, but the wiha's look really nice.
Cool looking saw no doubt! I just got my old 61 Husky ported so looking forward to running that. Its snowing here so it will probably be in the spring!
I recently purchased an orange Holzfforma G372XP with full wrap handle, and 28in bar. It will be interesting to compare your videos on the G372XP, and the Pro version once you have some run time on it.
I have 3 tanks on it so far and it is doing better in the tuning dept. Not sure if it is doing as well as a top tier Walbro carb, but it seems to be doing much better than my original orange and blue one. Wish I still had em around!
Joe, your story is so similar to mine that Id really like to visit in person sometime since were so close. Would love to help you and the little one to port that thing, Thrilled with your success and wish you guys the best. Thanks for your channel,
I love my icon t handles im like u i looked at klein and some others but went to harbor freight for ease ive seen test on icon wrenches where they out perform snap on wrenches
The walbro carbs are real walbro made by walbro in their China factory. Farmertec just sources them. We have sold tons of pro models without a single complaint on the carb, and we have sold tons of these walbro carbs without 1 complaint.
Thank you for weighing in! So this is the same carb as you sell on your site when they are available??? Great to know and thank you for working with me!
Be interesting to see how that g372xp pro holds up stock. I love my ported farmertec 372 with the bugs worked out really seems problem free and runs really nice. Those Icon T handles are really good really not much difference in quality between Snapon and the Icon. I do have both brands and usually go for the Icon.
I have a recent video of it running and so far I am impressed. Out of the 3 372 clones I have had, this one seems to be the most sorted out of the box. Thanks for the feedback on the T handles!
My 372XP Pro Walbro carb gave me nothing but problems. I replaced it with a real Walbro carb and my issues went away. Makes me believe the Holzfforma Walbro is a Chineseium clone. Strong running saw after the carb replacement..
I haven’t had any problems with 545xp or 572xp with autotune, I did have problems with 201tc mtronic, but I don’t have daily heavy run time with them. I like both brands equally.
@SpaceExplorer31 I have found that the field reset it pointless. Just run it! With that being said, when my 562 was messing up (all documented on here) it seems as if a modded muffler took care of all the issues and I think they were more or less a heat related issue primarily! Thanks for watching. Did you have a Mark ii 550XP? I assume the 562 was a mark i

This was a great history lesson of your journey threw different saws and why
Thanks Mike!
I’m not a brand loyalist, but I do like my Echoes. I have quite a few stihl and husky’s also. I just love chainsaws.
Me too sir! Thank you much!
Great analysis, appreciated. Keep cuttin' Joe!
Thank you sir!
That's right, buddy. A few useful saws to get the jobs done. But there's nothing wrong with collecting saw either. They are cool.
Super fun for sure Kenny! Hope you are well!

I bought 2 from Tristar Supply , great to deal with.
Good feedback! Thank you for sharing!

I knew about your self built one but not sure I knew about the other. What is it?
660 farmmac bought from NL for $125 bucks.
right on! Stock?
Both have muffler mods.

👍👍 good looking saw! Hopefully it’s a runner!
👊
Howdy doc!
so far I have 3 tanks through it. All documented and that will be coming up shortly. Thank you CF!
Hey Oakie, nice looking G372. Looking forward to seeing if the Pro version is worth the extra money...

The icon T handles are great had a set for about 2 years work great have a little flex but only with crazy tight stuff
Thank you for responding to this question. I really would like the Torx and Metric ones. Of course the SAE would be good too!
😎
Thanks for stopping by!
Would replace the switch with the momentary Husqvarna on off from the weedeaters. Really easy to modify the one prong to fit. No failure in my use.
What a great idea! I am going to need to look into this. Also, could be cool to do to my ECHO saws as well. The metal switch is robust and unlikely to fail but I find it super easy to bump. Thank you again!

@paintflinger. Thanks for the information!
So far all the Icon tools I've bought have been solid
Were you using an ICON wrench on your tractor the other day. I think it was the seat bracket install.
Cool looking saw no doubt! I just got my old 61 Husky ported so looking forward to running that. Its snowing here so it will probably be in the spring!
No Way! Wow man!
Great reminder to check the bolts that loosen up
No anti seize needed friend!
@@TheRustyGarageandHomestead There were some loose bolts on mine.
19:48 😂 yes!
hahaha... thanks for watching!
Looking forward to seeing this saw run
You will on screen and certainly in person!

@oakiewoodsman Sounds like I will have to get a genuine Walbro carb in Spring.
take a look at the comments from tristar, they have some interesting information on the Walbro setup.
Great video Mr Joe
Thank you Mike!

Hi Joe. Cotton top is running Stihl since he started his tree service business. I guess he got fed up. Enjoy. Nazdravja!
I haven't watched in a while. Always enjoyed the show.

good to know! Thank you sir

I have always wondered. So far mine has been pretty good thus far. 3 tanks isn't much but it seems to tune and hold a tune.
@@oakiewoodsman Mine would not hold a tune. Tore my hair out trying.
Interesting. Sure there is not some sort of air leak?
@@oakiewoodsman Don't think so. Real Walbro made all my problems go away.
I love my ms660 clones
You are making money with them too!
The 562XP and 550XP left me a bad taste for Husqvarna. Auto tune constantly needed resets and the saws bogging. Sold them off and went with Stihl.
I haven’t had any problems with 545xp or 572xp with autotune, I did have problems with 201tc mtronic, but I don’t have daily heavy run time with them.

Mark 2. Would shutoff, hard to restart and bogging.
Gotcha. @SpaceExplorer31
👍🆙OW
👍🏻
Appreciated DR!
Pour a little gas on your air filter.....it should fire off
yes..... but I do not think this was bad at all! Thank you for watching and commenting!
I absolutely agree .
