    Hi Annie, I hope you feel better very soon. Thank you for making this video even though you are not feeling 100%, it is much appreciated. This is a fantastic little make and I am definitely going to make one for myself. I have a ring thing holder on the back of my phone and I hold my phone using this and my arm gets very tired. I'm so excited about this phone holder and can't wait to have a go. Many thanks, Diane xxx

      Thank you, I'm going to try that one myself - I'm thinking it could be made out of a favourite shirt or T-shirt or patches from different pieces, and would work for grandparents, kids, and and everyone between - we all have these devices these days don't we? Thanks for wwatching,I'm glad you like the idea! :)

    Very nice project, thank you. Christmas gifts for me - I have a very large family and deciding what to make can be difficult - these are perfect. Thanks again. Wishing you speedy recovery. ❤

      Wonderful! You should be able to turn out a few of these pretty quickly, especially if you machine them. I have road-tested the polyfill and polystyrene bead versions since making this - they both work, but I would say that the beads give a firmer base, so for the tablet size, I might stuff it a little firmer if using polyfill as it's quite soft, but they both worked well with phone, tablet and kindle, so I think they'll make lovely gifts for men, women, and kids alike :)

    Hallooooooo! So sorry that you are feeling unwell, dear friend. I do hope you improve very quickly. That cloth is absolutely stunning, Annie! LOOOOOOOVE the bright colours of the batik cloth - delicious! Those are so clever and useful. I would use it all of the time. I generally use my laptop in bed at night propped on a flat pillow that I find I am constantly plumping back into shape. I enjoyed that very much, thank you! Get some good rest, my darling. And feel loads better very soon! Much Love and Bless xoxo

      Hi Lindsey, thank you, I'm sure i'll be better in a couple of days. aha yes that's exactly what I used to do before Chel gave me that lovely cushie years ago. Four of us who used to work together used to do a little trip once a year, rent a place for a long weekend in Oxford or Bath, and we used to make gifts for each other. Chel made us each one of these one year and I've used it pretty much every single day since then, usually in bed with my tablet or kindle. I reckon you could make one a little larger still to accomodate a laptop - but with the extra weight of the laptop, I'd stuff it more firmly than I showed in the video. I reckon that would be a fun project for a beginner stitcher ... just sayin' ... :) xo

    A really good idea. I wonder if those packaging nuggets (the ones that look like white Cheesy Wotsits!) would make a robust filling? It's easy to end up with lots of those when you've online-ordered several things. The only suggestion I'd make is to add a loop, a nice chunky one in the same or contrasting material. Then you can easily grab your phone/tablet rest. Maybe add a book ring to the loop, to hang a little pouch off which could contain headphones. What do you think?

    • @artyfartyannie
      @artyfartyannie  5 днів тому

      Oooh yes love those ideas, might be handy to be able to hang it on a hook as well, I also thought about a little pocket, for a pen or stylus maybe ... definitely worth trying the wotsit-style nuggets, although many of those are biodegradable these days, so they may break down in time, but it would be easy to refill them if needed :)

    Love that idea! Shame we had our village fete last week. Bazaar is a fab place isn’t it! Shame it’s only fabrics from India. We could do with a western equivalent. Charity shop dive for me I think. You mannequin looks like she’s brewing something new. 😄 Does she have a name? I have a Clarice and Margaret after my Nan and her sister who made all their own clothes.

    • @artyfartyannie
      @artyfartyannie  5 днів тому

      Yes, charity shops are such a good hunting ground aren't they? I'm also harvesting a lot from my wardrobe at the moment (and eyeing my husband's too but he hasn't noticed yet) Yes indeed my mannequin is brewing ideas again and no she doesn't have a name. My childhood doll didn't have a name either, that's strange now I come to think of it :) Love that yours are named after your Nan and her sister, what a lovely way to remember them. yes I love Bazaar and very excited to be going to the summer garden party this year. I believe the scrap packs came about almost incidentally, from their work with makers in India, but they've become very popular in their own right with stitchers and makers like us and Jo now goes hunting specifically for scrap bundle fodder when she's over there :)
