The 10 Best Countries In Europe To Live, To Visit & To Work - Around The World

- Опубліковано 27 чер 2024
- Europe is diverse and culturally amazing.
Living in Europe has its pros and cons when it comes to healthcare expenses, taxes, and job opportunities.
But don't worry, there are as many as 44 different countries in the Old Continent you can choose from depending on your budget, career goals, and language skills.
Over 500 million people call Europe home, and they contribute to a wide range of cultures, languages, religions, and so much more.
This is what makes it so exciting to live in Europe. In an hour or two from anywhere in Europe, you can be immersed in a different culture, language and food!
From most capital cities in the EU, you can get flights from €30 upwards to other capital cities in Europe.
If the train is what you prefer, the train system is fantastic all over Europe and getting better by the day.
The cost of living in Europe is very wide-ranging. If money is no object and you enjoy the finer things in life then you can live in the Scandinavian countries and Switzerland.
For a great lifestyle at a much lower cost, head south to the likes of Portugal or Spain where it is extremely reasonable.
For the lowest cost of living, head to Eastern European countries like Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic.
Here're some of the best countries to live, visit, work or retire in Europe:
10. Belgium. (good for family)
9. Spain. (retire, affordable)
8. France. (retire)
7. Denmark. (work, family)
6. Finland. (family)
5. Sweden. (work)
4. Portugal (safe, retire, affordable)
3. Republic of Ireland. (work)
2. Switzerland. (safe)
1. Norway. (family)

Just to warn you, Portugal is an incredible country to visit, amazing food and beautiful places, but it is not the best place to live, wages are low and as in Spain, it is not so easy to get a job
Thanks for mentioning that. Is it safe? And are there many drugs issues?
@@mateomarino7416 In general it's safe but also depends where you leave, in big cities like Lisboa or Porto there are a **few** streets that can be a little problematic, and that's the same case with drugs, it's not a big problem, you just get into them if you want, usually in college parties "just for fun", but you're not forced to do it and you can easily avoid it
Ya Im Portuguese and live in the US. I would like to live in europe for some time I would like to live in Portugal ,but im iffy about salaries and being able to find a job. Was considering looking at nearby countries with higher salaries and do as you said above use vacation times to travel and explore their
You don't want to see migrants that's why you say that 😁😁😁
@@Oybek1207 sure mate, you know there's a reason why everyone come to Porto, Lisboa, Algarve on vacation and they absolutely love it, they even say the prices are low! If you look at the worlds best cheapest places to travel, you will find Porto everywhere, BUT, people come from other countries and think prices are super low, while the big majority of portuguese people cant even have vacations in their own country! Prices are not meant for us, prices are meant for migrants that earn a lot more, most people here earn 700€, how much you earn at yours...?
The diversity and rich history of Europe, while being somehow united at the same time, is precisely what makes it so beautiful. Not to mention the human develepment index.
Just wait. Diversity (What it is today) is not rooted in German history. We used to have nearly 100% European diversity. Now it's 50% European and the rest is just middle east and Africa. One was natural the other one was forced upon us.
Very strange that the Netherlands isn’t in the top ten.
The happiest children in the world live in the Netherlands
Stable political system; more stable than Belgium
Excellent healthcare system; the least antibiotic resistance of Europe.
Excellent work-live balance. They invented ‘Niksen’
Excellent educational system.
Almost everything speaks one (English) or more foreign languages.
Very stable economy. The second greatest exporter of agricultural products in the world.
Didn't include probably because of the rain😂
@@joshfernandez8475 rain? What rain!😇

@@palantir135hey just wanted to ask,is Netherlands expensive to live? Can an international student manage to live during his masters...
"Live", "Visit", and "Work" are three very different things. Most of the countries featured here are very expensive and will be difficult to work in if you are not an EU citizen or sponsored by a corporation. I'm an American in Albania. You may want to give it a look. Yanks can stay here for a year without a visa, the climate is seasonal but moderate, the Balkan cuisine is influenced by Greece and Italy, the landscapes including mountains and sea are breathtaking, the cost of living is very low, and the people adore Americans for historical reasons. (I'm not getting a kickback for commenting here!)
👍for the tip! Never been to Albania.. not yet anyways. Can’t wait to travel 🌸!
@@birdlover7776 That hordes have never been here is another one of the plusses -- it's not overrun with tourists or expats, and it is "off the beaten path, but not far from the beaten path" (pre-pandemic). These video producers seem to have vision blindness in their right visual field (no offense intended -- we all have blind spots). There is a half of Europe known as "Eastern Europe". No place is right for everybody, but many Westerners find their home in Eastern Europe -- which is not optimal if your politics and social preferences are liberal and cosmopolitan. Actually, those elements represent drawbacks for me in Eastern Europe as well, but the positives outweigh the negatives.
@@jps0117 good to know thanks!
"sponsored by a corporation"? i thought that was the privilege of stars and celebrities
Albania is great! Been there several times. Where do you live? Sarandë or Tiranë?

Fortunate to live in Norway. I LOVE NORWAY. We gladly pay taxes because we know the money comes back to us in terms of free education, free health care, good insfructructure, high standard of living, and good working condition and benifits. We have a Well balance life in Norway 🇳🇴🇳🇴
Education is not really free as you have to pay for all the books, student association fees, printing, and in some cases actual exams. Healthcare is not free either as you have to pay above 250 NOK per visit. Besides, specialists and dentists are not covered. The quality of Norwegian Healthcare is very low. There are some cases that involve fake doctors having paralized patients. Not to mention all the financial scandals. Sorry, Norway is a hype. Corruption is widespread, starting from the parlaiment and the state institutions all the way down to the private sector.
I love Switzerland beautiful nature
I want a peaceful, natural and beautiful life, that's why one day I'm going to move to any of these countries.
I love Iberia, The Canary Islands and the Azores, spend my time island hoping, playing golf ,surfing and being a beach bum and it doesn’t get any better than this.
English is not an official language in Belgium. Dutch is :))
Beau content..thanks alot for luvly posting
So beautiful !
Great information! Thank you for sharing!!!
It isn't correct. There are countries on the list that shouldn't be on it and there are countries missing like Germany, the Netherlands and Luxemburg. The standard of living in these three countries is a lot higher than in some of the countries on the list. 95 percent of the Dutch population is proficient in English with Germany close to that figure. Public schooling in the Netherlands is free until college. Then there's an annual tuition fee of only two thousand Euro for EU citizens.
This is not accurate. For example, Ireland has many crimes and drug's issues
Wow it really thrills me to see a beautiful woman like you with such an Angelic smile, I really would love to learn more about you but that is if you don't mind for us to be friends and have some conversation?

Ja, Velkommen til Noreg , No er det våren og veldig fint ver.
As a portuguese I was very surprised to see Portugal in fourth position, because i wouldn´t recommend Portugal to live. It´s a nice place to visit for a determined amount of time, but not permanently. Despite the low wage income, larger cities such as Lisbon can be expensive for young people, not mentioning the lack of job opportunities, even with studies. Healthcare and education are indeed mostly free, but the quality of it is questionable. There´s lack of investment, despite tourism, and the low cost of living only applies to (mostly) foreigners.
I Live in spain and what he said of cost living and housing is not stable is high and the pay here is not enough. Many people leave sharing appartment and the housing issue is big here. The cities where is job is expensive for the spain income.
Its only expensive for residents, for foreigners is super cheap,Im from Norway and it was shocking how everything had a great quality even though the price is super cheap
Saying that our education system is questionable... I don't think so, currently Portugal has many different international students that come here to study in universities like Catolica, Nova, Técnico, ISCTE, etc... I think our educational system is not perfect but it's far away from being questionable. All the rest I agree with you.

I am from Portugal, I am very glad to see my country in this position. I don't know why but everyone want come live to here. We are small, we are not rich but we have an excellent balance between salarys and cost of living, the food is amazing, the fresh products are in other level, restaurants are cheap, unfortunately the houses prices in the big citys are very high do the amount of expats and retiredes that want to live there The education it is amazing, healthcare is amazing (tks to the way how things worked during the pandemic pic 🙏). We are very friendly and we are the thirth most safety country in the world. Outdoor activities are amazing, the culture, the nature, the history, mainland of Portugal is finally being discovered because of the nature, beauty and quality of life. We have small villages with optical fiber in paradise places, close to towns where you have all the necessary things to live comfortable and also close to the excellent highway system. Cultural events are everywhere, it's hard to chose what to see and do. Hope the pandemic stop soon and everything back to normal life.
Hi, according to your comment your country is beautiful.Do you know if I can come and search for a job in care giving sector.that is my job here in my country Kenya,Africa
@@rosemarywacera2576 I am also from Portugal and I don't think it is that easy to find a job, but in the care sector you can find one.
Also the balance between wages and the cost of living is not "excellent" as mentioned, most jobs are paid for the mandatory minimum wage (665 euros), which is not high compared to Spain (950 euros), which means that you can raise your family, but you have to be careful where you spend your money, and it’s impossible to get a house in the center of Lisbon or Porto, or in the big cities on the coast
@@ruisilva9093 haha you're here also. Seems like Portuguese people don't want to see migrants in their country 😁
@nicos frangeskou The average salarie is 1000€. The minimum salarie it is 650€ and we receive 14 months per year. Here in Portugal the achievement is to buy own house and it is much more affordable when you share with your partner, that's quite normal, we pay much less then if we rent an house. But indeed I agree with you the minimum salary should increase a little bit more and try to keep lower prices as well.
@nicos frangeskou well, i'm portuguese too and i'm not poor, i'm not saying this because i hate my life etc, but the fact is: wages are low! Houses are expensive! (*For us* migrants think they are cheap because they tend to have more money), I love my country and if you get a good job you will like it, but if you come here to work in a supermarket, shop or something, don't expect to have a nice house or a nice car, you just can't.
And there are many unemployed people, teachers, psychologists and so on. I just want you to do some research before you come, look for opportunities in your area and if you have a good offer, great, otherwise, don't come blind

The northern part of Belgium is completely filled with orange-red colored houses and walls, there is so little nature that people call 10 trees a forest.
1:03 - _"Multi lingual country, speaking French, German and English"_
The majority (~60%) of Belgians speak Dutch, ~40% French and less than 1% is German.
Most who speak Dutch and/or German also speak English, which is seldom the case for the French speaking Belgians.
1:16 - _"The public education system is highly regarded"_

@@jaywolfdesigns Don't get me wrong, Belgium has all western luxury and is a good place to live in. For sure there are far worse places to be born in. I'm however convinced Belgium's economical growth so far, has more to do with it's geographical location (center of Europe), than it has to do with Belgians ingenuity.
In my opinion: 99.9% of Belgians are great workers and good at following orders, yet they are completely inept at leading people. Our politicians, managers and leaders are avoidant in setting priorities, pushing these decisions onto their subordinates who aren't financially compensated for such responsibilities. The obedience of many Belgians results in huge amounts of unpaid overtime, yet makes them friendly to talk to as foreigners.
The Belgian education system is setup to indoctrinate obedience, as any form of criticality is deemed unacceptable and punished severely. Sure you need a certain amount of discipline, yet in Belgium it's common to deduct a students grades for being even slightly insubordinate towards a teacher.
Back in high-school I got deducted 40% of my test score due to: _A) Forgetting to bring a gum, B) Accidentally putting my test into my backpack, submitting it 1 minute to late while leaving the examination room._ (Still scored 58% on set exam, which made the teacher hate me). In university I got deducted 50% of my test score, for being absent during 2 lectures during a whole semester. Brought it before an examination committee and my score went from 40% to 82%. Belgian education has less to do with competence, yet more to do with being proficient at boot-licking.
I guess that's what corporations ask for! Mindless factory workers that do what they're told to do without questioning orders. This mentality reduces innovation, putting Belgium behind it's neighboring countries technically and financially.
Here in Northern Belgium we have plenty of people from the Netherlands who come over for our education system.
Talking high school level.

Ireland being that high is just absolutely hilarious.
Visit us, sure. But don't move here.
We're currently being crushed under a housing market that is as bad as our 2008 crush, without the same panic we had back then.
Our politics is all over the place right now. We have a devastating homeless problem.
US companies are buying houses before they hit the market to sell them.
But hey, if you don't plan on living in Dublin, go ahead. Just know that the WiFi, roads, and vicinity to a local supermarket is going to vary WILDLY.
After all, I'm on this video to see countries listed...so I can get out.
And Germany?
No Germany , Italy , Poland , UK in the list, really shocked.
In Denmark, we are more efficient and get more work done in our 37 hours per week than you get done in your 50+ hours per week in the USA.
One of the reasons is that it is normal to have responsibility and influence on one's own work. The boss's work is mostly to guide and coordinate in Denmark. In the USA there is a lot of redundant work because the boss decides everything.
It is not necessary to speak Danish to work in Denmark if you speak English, but it is necessary to have a high level of education. You should also be employed in Denmark before you move into the country. There are very few who do not have an academic or practical education in Denmark.
It is not easy to get Danish citizenship because you have to learn the Danish culture and language. Try to pronounce "Rødgrød med fløde". But then you can also easily create a company in a few minutes online.
