Toradora best anime
This is beautiful, I love how it captures the almost unpronounceable speed of some of the lines from the original version in a way no other cover of this does. Well done Mero, once again as always
i think every cover has its own vibes, its not neccesary to turn the others down to appreciate the great work they did on this one
Went into this expecting a W but also kind of an L, wasn’t expecting the super fast almost unpronounceable bits that no other cover I’ve heard has done. Easy dub, caught that W. Can’t imagine the amount of attempts it took trying to sing some of the lines lol

"Becareful what you wish for"... Now I understand the lyrics directly, but somehow it feels neutered? I don't dislike it outright, but I like the mix of the original. As I listened to this, then after I listened once again on both versions (original, then this again). And the sfx/instrumentals/mix are feels more "balanced" in original, maybe 50/50. Maybe I would've liked this more, if the vocals didn't overpowered the song. I get that independent youtubers cannot afford pro-musicians and bring so much resources to few fans would listen too, and maybe the voice is to balance out the lacking? or software generated instruments? (pardon me if I am wrong!)
It's not solely on you guys at @RE_TYLER , but other youtubers and their videos as well (like @Studio_Yuraki, or it could be @LieandLEE / AmaLEE ). Other English Dubbed songs gives off the same "flattened" vibe. I should like translated covers more, since I finally understand it, but I don't. There I finally said it, one of my biggest gripes on whole cover scene. I hope this one comment somehow sparks good changes in future like a butterfly effect. This is my constructive critique, which you may, or may not take into considerations.
As the arranger of this track and a professional audio engineer myself, I can tell you that what you're likely finding issue with is simply the balance between the vocal mix and the instrumental. In the vocal cover community, there's a culture of the vocal mix being significantly louder than the music, since that's more often the viewers' and listeners' focus. It's not meant to be experienced in quite the same way as a typical song, if that makes sense. It's not for everyone, but that's the way most listeners of this section of UA-cam seem to prefer it. :)
as the audio engineer of this particular track, i find issue with your wording and the way you seem to acknowledge that it is a COVER and not the original song, there WILL be differences in production whether you want it or not. you answer your own question of “why do independent youtubers not have the same quality as an anime production studio” without taking into consideration, essentially, any aspect of it. your personal gripes and a conviction that, somehow, every english cover has the same problem (clearly confirmation bias because there are hundreds of audio engineers) are not a free pass to minimize independent content creators’ effort and spend the time of your day on lengthy comments that serve as little but an insult to those involved.
surely if my mixing was such a persistent and recurring issue in the cover community, some of the clients i’ve worked with would’ve pointed it out ages ago. have a great day

I just cannot comprehend it personally, as you explained taking half the song and tuning down. I am one who enjoy both instruments and the vocal alike.

*First off, I acknowledged that it is a "COVER" (why did you even capitalized this?), and there will be difference in production since every person differs from another, no one person is identical to another. Even if you are TWINS! Each person work different from another, even if you guys had same equipment, exact same instruments, exact recording booth as high end studios in Japan, your workflow will still be different - this is not the issue. That was never the issue quality or whatever is NOT the issue. I took that into the consideration, why did you focused on this useless point?
*Secondly my issue is the balance between voice and music, simply this. STUPIDLY SIMPLE as I could make it, without the musical terms you the professional use. I am a fan of both aspects and thus wanted to listen to them both. I didn't see the point of reducing half of the work artists put into this. It seemed wasteful. This is like having two sails, but raising only one to the top to catch the wind, leaving the other at half height. My whole comment was replied to perfectly by @Atelier_Joshua , why this is the way it is.
*Thirdly how low confidence do you have in your own ability that you don't take any criticisms. That is Kim-Jung Un levels of anger. Hurt your pride by my two meager paragraphs? I wrote those in 3 mins, as I have already thought if it before ("huh why is this like this?" sort of). You the professional with tens/hundreds of contracts with happy clients. You have recognition, but this one random arsed comment made you go into a hiss fit? Come on are you for real :P Maybe you should walk in my shoes living a decade or two in a third world country. You seem like one who live in a first world. We can switch lol xD thanks!
*Insult was never the point, my words may be crude, but that's how it is. I am a not English native, so most of the times it's just how I would've said it in my native language. Some structures are loaned from things I've read. If insult was the point I would've never have bothered. I like popsongs and quite a fan of it. Read my second point again which is why I wrote the CONSTUCTIVE criticism (again not an insult).
*Lastly, no! You have a nice day ;D I took a break from my life, wrote this clear and truthfully, try not to imitate Kim Jung Un in the future.
